Not only are the bosses extremely powerful, even the most basic of enemies have received a buff, making your progression a drawn-out affair.

Thankfully, there is a new way to boost your stats in the DLC using an item called Scadutree Fragments. Here, we’ll reveal how to get them so you can bolster your defenses against Messmer and his cronies.

Where to find Scadutree Fragments in Shadow of the Erdtree

Luckily for you, there are multiple ways and ample chances to secure Scadutree Fragments in Shadow of the Erdtree, allowing you to increase your attack and defense in a pinch.

Akin to that of Golden Seeds and Sacred Tears, you are able to find Scadutree Fragments by simply exploring the different locations in Shadow of the Erdtree. However, for a more guaranteed method, seek hornsent statues as these are key to acquiring the Fragments.

Moreover, Scadutree Fragments can also be given as a reward for taking down tough enemies and bosses, so ensure that you’re not skipping over any optional foes for maximum Scadutree Fragment collection.

Once you do collect Scadutree Fragments, simply head back to a Grace and you can spend them in the menu to upgrade those stats.

Do remember though, these Scadutree Fragments, and subsequently, your Scadutree Blessing, is only active in the DLC areas. This means as soon as you head back to any part of the main game, your stats will revert to their previous figure.

These are highlighted in gold though when you are within the DLC, so you will know the difference between the buffed and the usual numbers.

Reverend Spirit Ashes have also been introduced with Shadow of the Erdtree which adds more power to Torrent and your summons. So, while on your quest for additional Scadutree Fragments, make sure you’re also looking out for those.

This collaboration aims to make blockchain technology more accessible to companies and organizations looking to integrate Web3 services into their operations. The document reads:

At the Tokyo Game Show 2023, we also made simultaneous announcements of the NFT Marketplace “Resella,” which is intended to provide services using blockchain technology to all types of customers, and the web3 project “PROJECT ZIRCON,” which allows customers to create fantasy worlds using blockchain technology.

According to an announcement shared with industry media, Resella offers a user-friendly approach, eliminating the need for external Web3 wallets or complex cryptocurrency transactions. The platform supports transactions in Japanese yen, catering to the local market, while also planning to expand its functionalities for global users.

A new NFT-centric platform

Developers can incorporate Resella’s functions into their applications, providing users with a seamless marketplace experience. Beyond its primary function, Resella facilitates the transition of existing platforms into the Web3 space.

The firm hopes to create an environment for businesses across various sectors to explore blockchain features. The platform also envisions using NFTs from gaming environments as tickets to events or exclusive in-game content.

The hotly anticipated (and only planned) expansion for Elden Ring, Shadow of the Erdtree is mere hours away from launching, excitement is reaching fever pitch, and Bandi Namco has dropped the Shadows of the Erdtree launch trailer.

It has received almost universally good reviews and is set to be the highest-rated DLC ever.

This morning (June 20) Bandai Namco dropped a new official launch trailer on YouTube, and across comments on the video-sharing platform, Reddit, and X, almost every second in the trailer has left someone especially excited.

The gameplay elements from the Shadow of the Erdtree launch trailer are receiving particular attention as people sharpen their swords and prepare to dive into the Land of Shadows, eager to know the enemies they will face.

A section of the trailer, starting at around 50 seconds, focuses heavily on several different enemies that players are sure to spend hours dying to. One in particular looks like a dragon wreathed in Death Blight, a debilitating status effect in Elden Ring. “It’s beautiful, terrifying but beautiful,” said one user on X.

However, it’s the dragon fight that really has people’s pulses racing. “WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT DRAGON FIGHT AT THE END?! MAGMA LIGHTNING?! HUH?!” Yelled one Reddit user, to the agreement and excitement of the comment section at large. “Looks insane, can’t wait to die to these,” said another, to many nods.

Don’t forget that in order to enter the DLC, you have to have defeated both Starscourge Radahn and Shardbearer Mohg – something less than half of all players have done. Those that have are ready though: “We’re all about to pull up in Moghwyn’s Palace like we own the place,” said one YouTube commenter.

Can you play Shadow of the Erdtree early?

There are already reports of players changing the region on their PlayStation or Xbox consoles to New Zealand, where the game launches earliest. There is a lot of disappointment and confusion in PC gaming circles – there’s no staggered release because Steam, the game’s PC distribution platform, requires a simultaneous global release time.

Additionally, PlayStation 5 players will be able to pre-load the game 48 hours before release, whereas Xbox and PC players will have to wait to download and install the expansion at the time of release.

The final Elden Ring patch is here just hours before the launch of the most eagerly awaited DLC of all time Shadow of the Erdtree.

Everything needed for Erdtree has now been patched into the game ahead of the impending launch and we are all hoping for a smooth landing for FromSoftware’s latest addition to its epic adventure.

Elden Ring – Patch Notes Version 1.12

The main addition is of course the added support for Shadow of the Erdtree. On top of thhat we have:

Five new hairstyles have been added to the game. They can be selected during character creation, using the Clouded Mirror Stand or using Rennala’s Rebirth feature.
Added “Map Functions Menu” to the Map Menu.
New Summoning Pool features:
Active Summoning Pools will now be carried over to NG+.
Individual Summoning Pools can now be enabled / disabled in the newly added Map Functions Menu.

We are also getting some new, much-appreciated Inventory features including:

Newly obtained items will be marked with a “!“.
A new tab called “Recent Items” has been added to review recently obtained items.
Display settings can be changed from the Display tab in the system menu.
Added new feature to summon spectral steed during the Elden Beast the boss battle.
Added new feature to the colosseum: crafted consumable items that have been used during a battle will be replenished at the end of your session.

And if you play the game on Steam, there are a few Steam-only tweaks and changes you should know about.

New Keyboard/mouse settings:
Added “lock-on change threshold” setting of mouse controls.
Added a setting to change cursor movement behavior in the map menu.
Added key assignments to open the map in the Key Settings menu.

Adjustments

All the balance adjustments are too many to list here so if you want to see what has changed regarding stats for weapons, armor, and the like, click on the link further up the page and check them out at your leisure.

The Borderlands video games are rude, crude, and lewd. The mainline games in the series are all rated M, suitable for mature audiences of 17 or over (18 or over in the UK). However, the upcoming movie has received a PG-13 rating from the Movie Picture Association, perplexing fans.

According to the Entertainment Software Ratings Board, Borderlands 3 earns its M rating because it contains “Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Sexual Themes, Strong Language” and it’s impossible to argue with that – fans of the series will know that the crass, irreverent jokes, mature storylines, and yes, gory violence, are baked into the franchise’s DNA.

As one Reddit commenter put it, the Borderlands games are “40% shooting, 30% loot and 30% comedy.” Borderlands could be considered an antidote to the usual extremely serious themes and atmosphere in most first-person shooters. No Call of Duty game would have a recording of the main villain saying “Jimmy, please make a note: I’m strangling Mister Moorin for bringing up my wife,” and expect it to land.

According to the MPA’s Film Ratings website, the Borderlands movie is “rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence and action, language and some suggestive material.” The trailer, which received mixed reactions, does portray this. However, most fans assumed this was a ‘tip of the iceberg’ situation, where the grossest jokes, sexiest outfits, and biggest guns were being saved for the movie, but that no longer seems to be the case.

Fans are not thrilled about the Borderlands movie’s PG-13 rating

In a Reddit thread discussing the newly assigned rating, there is much disappointment. “They tried to make a movie for everybody that is actually for nobody, tale old as time,” says the top-rated comment. In response to that, another user chimes in with “Exactly. The movie looks like a perfect example of a product made by a committee.”

The thread contains a lot of discussion about the film’s troubled production, with one person saying “Yeah, the film’s production history wasn’t going so well, but this looks like the biggest sign that the whole thing will be a stinker.”

People are also disappointed that they were initially excited when Eli Roth, who is famous for gory horror movies like Hostel, was set to helm the adaptation, expecting that he would be able to capture the ultraviolent tone of the games. However, Roth was fired from the movie in January 2023, with Tim Miller, who had some success with Deadpool, coming in to replace him for reshoots.

All we can do now is wait for the Borderland movie to release on August 9 to see whether it will be the fun, silly romp it could be, or a letdown.

A poll has revealed more than half of young adults in the Netherlands expect to gamble on sports this summer.

One of the key drivers will be soccer’s European Championship tournament which commenced last Friday in Germany, with the Dutch national team winning their first game with a 2-1 success against Poland on Sunday in Hamburg.

A report from NOS based on a representative study commissioned by Loket Kansspel, a government support facility for citizens with gambling problems, revealed how six in 10 young people were preparing to bet on sports.

A research agency surveyed 975 young adults, aged between 18 to 24, to gauge their intentions. 30% of respondents indicated they were likely to gamble on sports in the coming months, with 32% indicating they might stake money on the same events. Most of those who intimated they were ready to bet were men.

The report from the Dutch media outlet cited previous research that indicated young adults were the most likely age demographic to gamble online, with sports betting the preferred choice. This age bracket is said to stake lower amounts compared to older gamblers as they have less to spend, but they are still believed to lose an average of 600 Euros per year.

“One of the biggest pitfalls of gambling”

The recent study showed almost all participants were aware gambling on sports can have a negative outcome, or in other words, you can lose your money. Highlighting the concern posed by gambling, 44% of active gamblers said they had staked more than they could afford, in the past, while 78% claimed they could increase their prospects of winning by studying the sport they are betting on.

This revelation sparked a warning from Tony van Rooij, an industry expert involved in the design of the study, who stated to NOS, “This is one of the biggest pitfalls of gambling in general and betting on sports matches in particular.”

He continued, “Sports results cannot be predicted based on knowledge and skill. It remains a matter of luck and chance. This is very risky because long-term and persistent gambling can lead to major problems for yourself and others.”

In response, Loket Kansspel launched a campaign last week targeting young adults with the message, “Don’t play games with your money”.

EA Sports FC 24 headlines the second wave of games coming to Xbox Game Pass subscribers in June, as well it should — football fans are enjoying UEFA’s Euro 2024 tournament, and it will be winding up group play by the time the game arrives.

EA Sports FC 24 joins the lineup on June 25. (Knockout stage play begins June 29, for the record). The game added a UEFA Euro 2024 mode with a large title update at the beginning of the month, so Game Pass subscribers will be able to recreate or rewrite the action coming out of Germany as they see fit.

Other highlights for the second half of June include:

My Time at Sandrock (for Cloud, Console, and PC) — June 19: This is a blend of wholesome aesthetics with post-apocalyptic survival gameplay, like crafting, building settlements, defending those settlements, and more. The sequel to My Time at Portia (2019), it follows the same themes as its predecessor. My Time at Sandrock launched in early access in March 2021, with a full launch in November 2023.
Keplerth (PC) — June 20: Keplerth is a 2D sandbox role-playing game that also employs survival gameplay and tactics. Online multiplayer options mean you don’t have to go it alone. Keplert, by developer Taro, launched in 2022 after six years in early access.
Steamworld Dig (Cloud and Console) and Steamworld Dig 2 (Console and PC) — both on June 26: Both are Metroidvanias, Steamworld Dig launching in 2013, and the sequel in 2017. Steamworld Dig follows the subterranean adventures of a steambot digger named Rusty; Dig 2’s star is a new character, Dorothy.
Robin Hood — Sherwood Builders (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X) — June 27: This is a base-building/RPG take on the legends of Nottingham Forest. Robin Hood and his Merry Men are building their secret hideout to help those who live in the surrounding lands. Historical locations are included in the open world setting.
