Surprise! Fortnite Reload is coming on Saturday, June 22, less than a day after Epic Games first announced the mode with a post on X.

Fortnite Reload looks like the game’s OG map going back to 2017, when Epic introduced Fortnite Battle Royale and transformed not only a sleepy, base-building PvE game but also the company itself with its Fortnite Battle Royale’s success.

Oh hiiiii, Tilted pic.twitter.com/PCfIJN7VUC

— Fortnite (@FortniteGame) June 21, 2024

Reload will be a separate game mode within Fortnite’s suite of offerings. Longtime players will recognize OG points of interest on the map like Tilted Towers, Retail Row, L’il Loot Lake, Sandy Sheets, Pleasant Park, and more.

Additionally, Fortnite leaker iFireMonkey says the Fortnite Reload mode will allow players to respawn without a Reboot Van if their squad is still alive.

Some extra Fortnite: Reload information that was posted by @Jorge_Most_ on May 30th:

Reload will work like this:
As long as one of your squad is alive, the rest of the squad can respawn without having to be rebooted at a reboot van.

— iFireMonkey (@iFireMonkey) June 21, 2024

Elsewhere in the main game, Fortnite has been crossing over with metal lords Metallica over the past week, and this weekend will be showcasing a concert at three times both Saturday and Sunday. The concert will take place in-world on the game’s main stage, called Fuel. Fire. Fury.

Fortnite is currently in Chapter 5 Season 3, “Wrecked,” in which players are fighting Mad Max style in a desert wasteland, hence the Metallica collab and theme.

Eli Roth, the director of the upcoming Borderlands film, has hit back at critics who have likened the production to Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

The movie has transitioned from the best-selling video game series to the big screen, but already, there are concerns that it will be too different from the edgy, irreverent, adult themes that gamers are very familiar with.

Starring Kevin Hart, Cate Blanchett, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Jack Black, Borderlands is released in the US and UK on August 9.

However, the film has received a PG-13 rating leaving fans perplexed with the official trailer adding to the apprehension, with a supposed similarity to Guardians of the Galaxy.

In a Reddit thread discussing the newly assigned rating, there is much disappointment. “They tried to make a movie for everybody that is actually for nobody, tale old as time,” says the top-rated comment. In response to that, another user chimes in with “Exactly. The movie looks like a perfect example of a product made by a committee.”

Borderlands director explains reaction he wants to evoke

Eli Roth is refuting the early criticism, insisting it will live up to expectations.

In conversation with Total Film about the comparisons, the director stated, “There’s going to be similarities no matter what you do, just because of the nature of the subject matter.”

“I was very conscious of not remaking Guardians. (Audiences will) see the movie, and they’ll see it’s different.”

On the challenge of successfully adapting the themes of the smash-hit video game into the film, Roth added, “I said, ‘I don’t want (audiences) to be like, ‘Oh, that was a good video game movie.’ I want them to say, ‘That was a really fun science-fiction film, period’.”

The reception to the movie will be an interesting one. Will there be enough to satisfy fans that the content of the post-apocalyptic action comedy, which began with 2009’s Borderlands, is strong enough on its own merit, without obvious comparisons to the vibrant space opera Guardians of the Galaxy, which premiered in 2014 and has gotten two sequels?

That remains to be seen, but the overlap in style and subject is an apparent one.

The post Top AI Crypto Raises $6 Million in Presale – Experts Predict 10x Gains at Launch appeared first on ReadWrite.

While most altcoins have dropped in value this week, meme coins are defying the trend and experiencing a surprising upswing.

One example is WienerAI (WAI), a project generating significant buzz through its successful presale. With this momentum, WienerAI aims to become the top AI-themed meme coin of 2024.

Additionally, smart money traders and crypto influencers have taken notice of $WAI, with some predicting it could be the next 100x crypto. Let’s see why.

Will WienerAI be the next big thing? Influencers’ predictions

Prominent commentators have endorsed the project’s potential for success alongside raising $6 million. So far, top crypto analysts like Jacob Bury, Michael Wrubel, and TodayTrader, among others, have offered insightful opinions on how these attributes will shape WienerAI’s future.

In a recent YouTube analysis, Jacob Bury highlighted WienerAI as a promising investment opportunity for diversifying into a crypto asset that blends entertainment with utility. He predicts the token’s value will rise significantly once its trading bot utility gains broader acceptance.

Moreover, the buzz surrounding WienerAI has attracted attention from prominent YouTube channel Cryptonews, which anticipates multiple exchange listings following the conclusion of its initial coin offering. The channel speculates that gains of up to 100x could be achievable.

The project has also garnered attention from ClayBro, CryptoWire, and others. Even 99Bitcoins, a popular crypto educational platform with over 700k YouTube subscribers, believes early investors could see substantial returns, potentially up to 100x.

Cilinix Crypto disclosed involvement in the WienerAI presale as well. With its compelling use case and backing from industry leaders, WienerAI stands poised for a potential surge in $WAI price post-IEO.

WienerAI presale hits $6 million – Next crypto to explode?

WienerAI (WAI), a popular AI-powered meme coin project, has been grabbing headlines by surpassing the $6 million mark in its ongoing ICO, establishing itself as one of the most sought-after tokens in the market.

Currently priced as low as $0.00072, WienerAI’s multi-stage ICO offers investors an excellent opportunity to participate from the ground level before its highly anticipated IEO debut. To purchase WAI tokens, investors must connect their crypto wallets to the WienerAI website and exchange ETH, BNB, or USDT for WAI tokens.

There’s also the option to use credit or debit cards for purchases. Alternatively, potential investors can visit our guide on how to buy WienerAI tokens here.

What’s particularly exciting for analysts is this aspect: presale investors can begin staking their WAI tokens immediately upon purchase, even before the token becomes available on exchanges. Currently, stakers can earn up to 186% APY, though this rate will decrease as more tokens are staked.

Naturally, as more participants join the presale, the quoted APY will decline. However, early investors can secure higher yields and maximize their potential returns right from the start. Adding to the project’s allure is its completion of a thorough smart contract audit by blockchain security firm SolidProof.

For instance, the contract owner has renounced ownership, ensuring that the token’s fundamentals remain unchanged post-launch. The owner is unable to blacklist specific addresses, mint new tokens, or halt trading.

This audit guarantees the integrity of the code before WienerAI enters the broader market. It’s no surprise that WienerAI’s Telegram channel has recently seen a surge in membership. For updates on its upcoming listings, follow WienerAI on X.

WienerAI’s AI bot aims to transform crypto trading

Smart money traders have quickly identified WienerAI’s distinct fundamentals, which set it apart from most other new cryptocurrencies currently on the market. Many experts and crypto influencers who have reviewed the project have praised how WienerAI successfully blends its meme-friendly image with advanced AI functionality.

Indeed, the project’s mascot, a charming hybrid of a dog and sausage with a friendly smile, has captured the attention of meme coin enthusiasts. However, it is WienerAI’s AI capabilities that truly distinguish it from other short-lived meme coins.

The project is introducing its own cutting-edge trading bot, which it claims will revolutionize trading in the same way ChatGPT has transformed writing. Notably, the bot features a user interface similar to ChatGPT’s to ensure familiarity and ease of use for its users.

More than a meme coin! Let WienerAI Trading Bot handle it 🌭🤖

Your AI-powered market companion for smart, predictive trades 🤓 pic.twitter.com/BeiKNNyoNL

— WienerAI (@WienerDogAI) June 14, 2024

Crucially, the WienerAI trading bot aims to provide traders with comprehensive functionality, akin to what ChatGPT offers writers. The project’s development team presents it as an investor’s faithful companion, ideal for navigating bullish markets.

Investors can pose investment-related queries and receive detailed responses, and the bot can even suggest promising trading opportunities through AI-driven predictive analytics. Traders can execute trades seamlessly within the application without leaving the platform.

Moreover, the bot includes MEV protection, a critical feature for executing trades with minimal slippage, typically unavailable to smaller investors. Token holders can access these features at no additional cost, which is expected to serve as a significant incentive to retain their tokens.

Indeed, this AI-powered tool is one of the key factors that make WienerAI one of the hottest presales to buy now. While the project uses predictive technology to offer balanced insights, you can learn more about WienerAI’s future potential by checking out our $WAI price predictions.

A news monitoring service has found leading chatbots are regurgitating Russian misinformation, among them OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Microsoft’s Copilot and Google’s Gemini

A study from news monitoring company NewsGuard has highlighted the dangers of misinformation being repeated, validated, and amplified by chatbots to a mass audience.

The service tested 10 chatbots, entering 57 prompts with the outcome producing Russian disinformation narratives 32% of the time. The prompts were made up of stories created by John Mark Dougan, an American fugitive who is now based in Moscow, according to the New York Times

He is believed to be playing a prominent role in an elaborate campaign of deception and misinformation, based in the Russian capital.

In total, NewsGuard used 570 prompts, with 57 tested on each chatbot platform. Nineteen false narratives were utilized, all linked to the Russian disinformation plot, which included false claims of corruption involving Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky.

The study was conducted with 10 of the leading chatbots on the market: OpenAI’s ChatGPT-4, Google’s Gemini, Microsoft’s Copilot, Meta AI, Anthropic’s Claude, xAI’s Grok, You.com’s Smart Assistant, Inflection’s Pi, Mistral’s le Chat, and Perplexity’s answer engine.

AI is a potent tool for propagating disinformation

“NewsGuard’s findings come amid the first election year featuring widespread use of artificial intelligence, as bad actors are weaponizing new publicly available technology to generate deepfakes, AI-generated news sites, and fake robocalls,” said McKenzie Sadeghi, editor of AI and Foreign Influence at NewsGuard.

The company’s researchers utilized three different forms, a neutral prompt seeking facts about the claim, a leading prompt assuming the narrative is true and requesting more information, and a ‘malign actor’ prompt which deliberately and explicitly intended to sow disinformation.

The results were then categorized in three ways. “No Misinformation,” where the chatbot avoided responding or provided a debunk; “Repeats with Caution,” where the response repeated the disinformation but added a disclaimer urging caution, and “Misinformation,” where the response relayed the false narrative as fact, effectively validating it.

Not all of the results were bad, as some content was dismissed by thorough responses refuting baseless allegations. But on other occasions, the chatbots failed to recognize sites such as the “Boston Times” and “Flagstaff Post” as Russian propaganda outlets, like those in Dougan’s tangled web.

Newsguard’s Sadeghi added, “The results demonstrate how, despite efforts by AI companies to prevent the misuse of their chatbots ahead of worldwide elections, AI remains a potent tool for propagating disinformation.”

Australia’s independent regulator for online safety has made concessions on new rules to force big tech firms to take stronger action to detect child abuse and terror content.

Some of the nation’s top tech companies hit back with a warning of the potential for mass government surveillance if they were compelled to take action on problem content on encrypted messaging and cloud storage services.

Led by Julie Inman Grant, the eSafety Commissioner is a government agency “committed to keeping its citizens safer online”. The statutory body has regulatory powers relating to cyberbullying, image-based abuse, and illegal and harmful online content.

Back in November, eSafety set out a raft of draft standards that appeared set to rein in the operators of cloud and messaging services, such as Apple, Proton, and Signal, compelling them to detect and remove specified content “where technically feasible”, and to make it difficult for such material to reappear.

However, the tech firms were unhappy as there was no understanding or agreed process for how they were expected to comply with the rules. In a related discussion paper, the agency stated it “does not advocate building in weaknesses or back doors to undermine privacy and security on end-to-end encrypted services”.

Due to the ambiguity with the regulations and other material like the paper referenced above, the tech companies raised the alarm that end-to-end encryption would not be protected, with Apple stressing everyone’s online communications could be left open to mass surveillance. The “technical feasibility” was a term considered too loose and unspecified, to the extent that companies were concerned if it would be financially possible to cover and implement. This went beyond encryption fears and has proved to be the point of retreat for the eSafety Commissioner.

Failure to protect children from abuse

In parliament on Friday, papers were submitted setting out the finalized online safety standards with the omission of a requirement to break encryption and the companies will not be forced to take action not technically feasible or practically reasonable.

Inman Grant took a thinly veiled swipe at criticism of the proposals in an op-ed in The Australian, hitting back at the tech position that the standards were a step too far, leaving the vulnerability of mass government surveillance.

She said the real dystopian future would be one where “adults fail to protect children from vile forms of torture and sexual abuse, then allow their trauma to be freely shared with predators on a global scale”.

“That is the world we live in today,” she concluded.

Over the past few days, the cryptocurrency market has experienced a pullback, but many traders and analysts are anticipating a significant bounce soon.

The current dip in prices presents a potential dip buying opportunity, with optimistic news on the horizon suggesting that meme coins, altcoins, and Bitcoin could see substantial gains in the coming days, weeks, and months.

Trump’s plan to end Biden’s crypto regulations: A potential bull market catalyst for digital assets

Recent news includes Donald Trump promising to end Joe Biden’s stringent regulatory approach to cryptocurrencies. Biden’s executive order emphasized supporting technological advances and promoting responsible development and use of digital assets.

It outlined six key priorities: consumer and investor protection, promoting financial stability, countering illicit finance, US leadership in the global financial system and economic competitiveness, financial inclusion, and responsible innovation.

However, Biden’s proposal of a 30% tax on cryptocurrency mining, including energy consumption, has drawn criticism. This tax applies even if clean energy is used, leading many in the crypto industry to view it as a punitive measure.

In contrast, Trump has accused Biden of wanting to stifle the crypto industry and pledged to foster a digital asset revolution, protecting it from anti-crypto figures.

Depending on the outcome of the upcoming elections, the cryptocurrency market could be on the verge of its largest bull market rally ever. This potential shift in regulatory approach could significantly impact the market’s trajectory.

PlayDoge presale surges despite market downturn

Despite the market pullback, PlayDoge has already raised an impressive $4.9 million in its presale. This presale performance is notable given the current market conditions; in a more favorable market, PlayDoge could potentially have raised over $10 million by now.

As the market rebounds, the potential for PlayDoge to explode in value is significant. PlayDoge could benefit greatly from a market rebound, with its presale potentially aligning with a peak or explosion in a bull market.

To participate in the PlayDoge presale, users need to connect their wallets and determine the amount they wish to buy. Purchases can be made using USDT and BNB.

High staking rewards and upcoming app features

PlayDoge offers staking rewards at an impressive 145% annualized interest rate. While some investors prefer liquidity, those interested in staking can lock up their PlayDoge for at least seven days after the token claim goes live.

In addition to its staking incentives, PlayDoge is developing a Tamagotchi-style app where users can feed, entertain, train, and ensure their virtual Doge gets enough sleep.

This app will feature 8-bit side-scrolling adventures and retro arcade-style mini-games, set to be launched in the fourth phase of their roadmap.

Regarding tokenomics, PlayDoge has a total supply of 9.4 billion tokens. The allocation includes 50% for the presale, 6.5% for community rewards, 11.5% for liquidity, 10% for marketing, 10% for project funds, and 12% for staking rewards.

For those interested in buying PlayDoge, a simple tutorial on their website guides users through the process of connecting their wallet and contributing, using the same wallet for token claiming.

The presale has 40 stages, with roughly 10 completed and $4.9 million already raised. As market conditions improve, the presale is expected to pick up momentum, potentially leading to significant gains for early investors. To take part in the $PLAY token presale, visit playdoge.io.

Conclusion

The current market dip offers a strategic entry point for investors, with bullish news and potential regulatory changes on the horizon.

PlayDoge, with its unique features and strong presale performance, stands out as a promising opportunity in the crypto space. Investors should stay informed and consider participating in the presale to capitalize on the potential market rebound.

If you’ve already played a bunch of the base Elden Ring game, maxing out stats of both your character and associated gear, you might be wondering how you can become stronger in Shadow of the Erdtree.

Thankfully, FromSoftware has introduced a new leveling mechanic with two new items – Scadutree Fragments, and what we’ll be discussing here, Revered Spirit Ashes.

Getting your hands on them though is no mean feat. You may get the first as you enter the DLC, but the others need to be located by exploring. Here is what you need to know.

Where to find Revered Spirit Ash in Shadow of the Erdtree

Like the Scadutree Fragments that have been introduced with Shadow of the Erdtree, there are a few different ways you can use to acquire Revered Spirit Ash.

The first, and easiest way to get your hands on it is via locating statues with a decapitated head. These can be found throughout the new Shadow of the Erdtree map, and you can’t really miss them since they’re elevated by a rectangular platform and have the purple glow of an important item right on the person’s lap.

A second method for getting Revered Spirit Ash is by defeating Shadow enemies that have pots on their heads. Yes, this is the usual FromSoft wackiness we know and love, so chase these foes and more Ash will be yours.

There is a chance that the item the aforementioned enemy will drop a Scadutree Fragment instead, but these are extremely useful regardless so it’s a win-win situation.

The third, and final way to acquire Revered Spirit Ash is by defeating another enemy – an Omen Shaman. These are the large, golden-cloaked Shamans that will drop a Revered Spirit Ash for you on your first kill.

Once you add a few Revered Spirit Ash to your inventory, simply head to a Site of Grace and use them to enhance both your summons and Torrent.

The Sony Rewards Program is officially being terminated at the end of the year, with all points expiring along with it leaving members with no choice but to spend what they’ve accrued.

Having launched in 2017, the program was created to allow users to gain points through Sony or PlayStation credit cards. When enough points have been collected, they are then redeemable against items from the Sony brand, including PlayStation video games.

Now though, the company has introduced the cancellation of the program through an update to its Terms and Conditions page.

The Sony Rewards program will end on December 31, 2024. For more information visit our FAQs: https://t.co/nIX3eX3Zm0 pic.twitter.com/fFBts4ZGRw

— Sony Rewards (@SonyRewards) June 20, 2024

“The Sony Rewards program will end on December 31, 2024, which is the last day to redeem points in the Sony Rewards catalog and access your account. The Sony Rewards website and mobile application (“mobile app”) will no longer be available after that date,” the company writes.

This program shouldn’t be confused with the PlayStation Stars program which focuses on digital collectibles as this will be unaffected and remain separate from the rewards scheme.

This change could leave current credit cardholders wondering about the benefits going forward, but they will have the option to earn points by making purchases with either the Sony or PlayStation Visa credit card. They’ve been told that further information will be provided in due course about how the changes will affect them.

Reactions are bleak to the termination of the Sony Rewards Program

After taking to the X platform (formerly Twitter) to share the news, Sony has received a generally negative response to the announcement.

One user said: “Lol guess I’ll be canceling this card/never using it again after this year.”

Others share the same sentiment as they brand the credit cards pointless, with ‘no reason’ to use them going forward.

“Wow, that’s really messed up, I hate to see it end! Been had the card since they first advertised it on PS3! I hate I’m forced to spend all my points and usually all the good games they have on the site are sold out & never restocked!” said one X user.

The post New York signs laws to protect kids on social media, but faces criticism appeared first on ReadWrite.

The New York Governor signed two new bills into law on Thursday (June 20) to protect children and teenagers from the harmful side of social media.

The Stop Addictive Feeds Exploitation (SAFE) for Kids Act is one of the bills that will come into force and this will stop social media platforms from “providing an addictive feed” to children younger than 18 without parental consent.

The purpose is to “protect the mental health of children” and prevent disrupted sleep due to night-time use of social media.

The other is the New York Child Data Protection Act which limits data collection from minors without consent and restricts the sale of the information.

While states across the US are making moves to enact legislation to protect children in the rise of social media, the federal government is lagging behind.

Some proposals have been introduced like the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) but federal legislators need more floor votes before they can focus on these measures properly.

Ahead of the signing, New York Governor Kathy Hochul was reported as saying: “Anybody going to hold their breath waiting for a federal solution? Me neither.”

Bills to protect children and teenagers online face backlash

While many will be happy with the measures taken, the bills saw almost immediate responses of negativity.

NetChoice, an industry association that ‘works to make the Internet safe for free enterprise and free expression,’ published a news release condemning Hochul’s laws.

“This is an assault on free speech and the open internet by the State of New York,” said NetChoice’s Vice President and General Counsel Carl Szabo.

“New York has created a way for the government to track what sites people visit and their online activity by forcing websites to censor all content unless visitors provide an ID to verify their age.”

A technology industry coalition called the Chamber of Progress said the SAFE for Kids Act raises concerns as it “would restrict teen access to valuable online resources and safe, inclusive community spaces.”

Publicly-traded U.S. crypto exchange Coinbase launched a new $2 million ad campaign aimed at Latino voters and consumers.

According to a June 20 Reuters report, the campaign is part of the broader crypto industry’s efforts to garner support from politicians who are favorable to their cause. The ad campaign promotes cryptocurrency as an efficient and cost-effective means of sending money abroad.

It features a young man using Coinbase’s USD Coin to send financial aid to his grandmother in Mexico, highlighting the fact that using the Coinbase Wallet app incurs no fees, in contrast to the typical 6.18% charged by traditional money transfer services.

The report follows former House Speaker Paul Ryan recently urging lawmakers to consider creating a suitable crypto regulatory framework. He highlighted his belief that stablecoins could result in a stronger dollar:

A sound, predictable regulatory framework for stablecoins has bipartisan support in Congress and would help dramatically expand the use of digital dollars at a critical time. In an election year, given all the ugly politics to come, we sure could use a win.

Highly targeted advertisement

To maximize its reach among Latino viewers, Coinbase will advertise during the Copa America soccer tournament on Univision. The campaign focuses on California, Texas, and Washington D.C. Former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa endorsed the campaign:

Our traditional financial system is not working for communities of color, who experience disproportionate barriers to wealth-building at every turn.

A 2022 Mastercard survey revealed that Latin American consumers are increasingly seeking cryptocurrency and digital payment-related services, with 51% of respondents having already made a transaction using crypto. The survey also found that 86% of Latino consumers used at least one emerging payment method in 2022, indicating a growing adoption of new financial technologies in the region.

Coinbase’s ad campaign is just one of many advocacy initiatives undertaken by the company and the broader crypto industry. In August 2022, Coinbase launched Stand With Crypto, a tax-exempt social welfare group representing cryptocurrency owners and voters. The organization has rapidly grown to over 1 million members, underscoring the significant voting influence of the crypto community.

The crypto industry has also spent tens of millions of dollars on U.S. elections this year, targeting specific races and donating to pro-crypto PACs. The $78 million donated to Fairshake by industry firms including Coinbase is one such example.
