Character.AI is introducing a new addition to its Voice features where you can actually talk to them as if on a phone call.

AI character generation tool Character.AI has announced the feature, Character Calls, in a post on X. Joining a host of other Voice features, Character Calls allows users to talk with AI Characters, just as if you were on a phone call.

The idea is that it would allow for users to practice their language skills, build on interview techniques, feel out tricky conversations when planning RPGs, or craft epic storylines by actually talking to characters.

AI Chat just got real.

The character would still need to be created within Character.AI in order to be used and you can create a variety of different options to suit your needs. Some examples of characters shown in the launch post include a playful poet to improve writing skills, Detective Haywire to map out a fictional investigation, and beret-wearing Émile to practice French with.

What is Character.AI?

If this is the first time that you’ve come across Character.AI, it’s a web-based AI chatbot application that uses neutral language models to generate text responses. The platform enables the creation of characters based on known figures from fiction, history, and famous people from nowadays.

While there are various AI character generation apps, Character.AI is known for its ability to replicate human-like responses. It also supports conversations with multiple bots at once, offering a wide range of multi-person possibilities.

Developed by former Google AI developers Noam Shazeer and Daniel De Freitas, Character.AI launched in beta in September 2022. Since its introduction, it has quickly become one of the most popular AI chatbots, second only to ChatGPT. The latest introduction will likely serve only to pull more people into using the platform, especially with over 10,000 views on the announcement video after less than five hours.

Google Translate will introduce 110 new languages, thanks to a large AI learning model that helps to expand the variety of languages on offer.

As part of Google’s 1,000 Languages Initiative – a commitment to build AI models that will support the 1,000 most spoken languages around the world – the company has announced plans to roll out 110 new languages on Google Translate in the largest expansion ever. For comparison, 2022 saw just 24 new languages added at once, using another less powerful machine learning model that learns to translate without ever seeing an example.

What new languages have been introduced to Google Translate?

The 110 new languages represent more than 614 million speakers, accounting for roughly 8% of the world’s population. They range from major world languages to ones spoken by small communities of Indigenous people, and even a few with almost no native speakers but are actively being revitalized.

Roughly a quarter of the new languages originate from Africa, representing Googel Translate’s largest expansion of African languages to date, including Fon, Kikongo, Luo, Ga, Swati, Venda, and Wolof. They include:

Afar, a tonal language spoken in Djibouti, Eritrea and Ethiopia
Cantonese, which has long been one of the most requested languages for Google Translate
Manx, the Celtic language of the Isle of Man
Punjabi (Shahmukhi), the variety of Punjabi written in Perso-Arabic script (Shahmukhi), and the most spoken language in Pakistan
Tamazight (Amazigh), a Berber language spoken across North Africa, with support for both the Latin script and Tifinagh script
Tok Pisin, an English-based creole and the lingua franca of Papua New Guinea

Google has made it a priority to focus on the most commonly used varieties of each language. However, the speed at which all the 110 languages could be added is due to PaLM 2. It allowed for the efficient learning of languages that are closely related to each other, including languages close to Hindi, like Awadhi and Marwadi, and those close to French creoles like Seychellois Creole and Mauritian Creole.

This is just part of Google’s efforts to incorporate AI more closely into its services, with the recent introduction of impressive AI chatbots and AI-powered features expected to be standard across Chromebooks.

Google Chrome for mobile has had a revamp, with the team saying “looking something up on mobile should be just as smooth as if you were in front of your computer.”

In a recently published (June 26) article on the product updates section, the product manager of Chrome, Nick Kim Sexton, announced five new features that will be added to Android and iOS.

The aim is to make it easier to search from a phone or tablet, moving away from the clunkiness that can sometimes be browsing on a mobile device.

Shortcuts, sports, and suggestions amongst new Google Chrome updates

One of the first additions is the new Chrome Actions. When searching for a restaurant, for example, some shortcut buttons will appear in the search results whilst you’re typing. This includes the likes of ‘Call,’ ‘Directions,’ and ‘Reviews’ which could make it a whole lot easier to get the information you need.

This feature has already been rolled out onto Chrome for Android and will be coming to iOS later this fall.

The address bar, where the website is typed in, has been refreshed as well in line with the larger screen sizes of iPads and Android tablets. Now, when searching, the website should already be visible in the drop-down option.

More shortcut suggestions have been added too which take into account the usual words you type in to reach a website you’ve been on before. “For instance, maybe you usually type in “schedules” to see times for the City Metro because that word is a part of the site’s description,” writes Sexton.

“Thanks to this new feature, City Metro will now appear higher up in your search suggestions whenever you search “schedules.”

The trending search suggestions that are already available on Android will be coming to iOS shortly which will show trends under the address bar.

And lastly, new sports cards have been added to Chrome’s Discover Feed and are available on iOS and Android. This means you’ll get automatic updates on how your favorite team is playing if you’ve expressed an interest in them in the past.

This can be customized in the Discover Feed in the Chrome mobile app by selecting the three-dot menu.

Elden Ring obviously has some incredibly designed weapons and armor that can be combined to create some seriously deadly fashion statements.

Shadow of the Erdtree only adds to that with a whole host of new swords that look great and have powerful effects.

The Greatsword of Damnation is a great example of this, whilst also having really interesting lore behind it also.

Below, we’ll take a look at where to find the Greatsword of Damnation in Shadow of the Erdtree so you can see the power of this unique weapon for yourself.

Where to find Greatsword of Damnation in Shadow of the Erdtree

To secure the Greatsword of Damnation, you must defeat a certain boss that is using it in the fight.

The boss in question is Midra, Lord Of Frenzied Flame but finding him takes some doing.

We’ll make Abyssal Woods as a starting point for this guide but even getting to here is a big undertaking in itself, so just keep that in mind before moving forward here.

If you are at Abyssal Woods though, you’ll have to progress all the way through, continuing beyond the enemies that you cannot kill and instead, have to sneak past, to Midra’s Manse.

Beginning at the first Site of Grace in Midra’s Manse, take an immediate left and continue through the mazy area until you can trigger a lever.

Locate the ladder close by and go up at whenever the opportunity presents itself. You’ll come out and be able to activate the next Site of Grace.

Move out to the upper tier of the area, round, and down to the bottom. Look around for an entrance and a set of stairs to a ladder that you need to activate to progress.

You can now make your way over a bookshelf and round to a wood platform, where you can drop down once more.

Follow the path to the final Site of Grace, and then the boss will await you in the next room.

After defeating Midra, Lord Of Frenzied Flame, you’ll receive the Remembrance of the Lord Of Frenzied Flame. Now, head back to the Roundtable Hold and redeem the Greatsword of Damnation using it.

The stories in FromSoftware titles are complex affairs that require you to do some serious digging, talking to every NPC available in order to piece things together.

To make things even more complicated, there are also different endings that can occur throughout most of the studio’s games, including Elden Ring, which might throw you into another confusing spiral just when you thought you had everything figured out.

Now, with the DLC out in the wild, many are wondering if Elden Ring’s expansion has different conclusions.

Let’s get into if Shadow of the Erdtree follows the trend and has multiple endings.

Does Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree have multiple endings?

Even though the Souls series, and Elden Ring itself do have multiple endings depending on certain actions you do in the game, Shadow of the Erdtree does not.

This might seem like an odd choice considering that the base game actually had six different variations of the finale, but it does make sense in the context of the DLC.

This is because the expansion follows the journey to Miquella, who wants to revive Radahn, and ultimately, become a fully-fledged god.

Your goal is essentially to stop him, since this goes against every single ending that occurs in the standard game, even if he is described as Miquella the Kind.

While all of the above is true, technically, in the battle with Radahn, you can get your ‘Heart Stolen’ by Miquella where you’ll receive some dialogue implying you’re bowing to him. This would lead to a second ending where you fail but obviously this can’t actually happen since you wouldn’t complete the DLC.

So, to sum up, that final, short cutscene is in fact the one and only ending to Shadow of the Erdtree.

While this might be disappointing for those that wanted more, it does conclude the full arc of Miquella, ultimately stopping him before he can be fully restored as a god.

“FM25 is the starting point for the studio’s next 20 years.” So says Sports Interactive’s head honcho Miles Jacobson in a new development blog for the 2025 iteration of the most famous management sim of all time.

It has been known for a couple of years that Football Manager 25 was to see a big departure from what has gone before it. While not exactly stale, the annual iterations, which from the outside could sometimes seem quite minor to all but the most avid virtual managers, have been a staple of the franchise for over a decade.

Football Manager 25 is set to change a lot of that and it may well break some things along the way. But I don’t think Jacobson and SI are necessarily afraid of that. This is a project that is planned out many years in advance. The dev blog speaks as much about what fluff will be cut from the existing series as much as it does about new features.

Using analytical data from those who opted in to share it the team has taken a good, hard look at Football Manager and taken a sword to the neck of many features that most people didn’t use. That’s not to say nobody used them, and that could well be a source of irritation for some long-serving fans of the game, but they are gone anyway. They are either gone because they are rarely used, or gone because FM25 can’t improve them enough to warrant their inclusion. The cutting room floor is a serious trip hazard.

Some of the chopped features are coming back – Challenge Mode will return in Football Manager 26 or 27, says Jacobson.

Fantasy Draft will be missing from FM25’s launch but will be patched in at some point during the year as it won’t be ready in time.

No shouting

Other features like Touchline Shouts, where managers could give on-the-fly instruction to the team are gone for good. Possibly. “The most used feature that won’t be included in FM25 is Touchline Shouts and these won’t be back for the foreseeable future,“ he says.

I was surprised by this. I used them all the time, but Jacobson’s explanation makes sense, “Shouts have been in the series for many years and, to be frank, I’ve never been happy with them. A “shout” should happen instantly, but they only came into effect after the ball had gone out of play. It also wasn’t clear to players how long the shout lasted for. So, for the time being, touchline shouts are gone from the game.”

Fair enough, the issue might be, that not every player will get to see that explanation and might wonder why something they always used has now been cut and do the standard internet slur of “dumbing the game down”.

With the cuts come the new stuff though. A move to the Unity engine allows for a massive revamp to graphics, not just the in-match stuff but also the UI. Football Manager’s abundance of screens could be seen by many as overwhelming, and how many of them never even got a look in.

A new panel and tile-based system aims to improve that. My natural Microsoft/Windows 8-induced fear of tiles set in when I read that, but it is clear that SI has put years of work, alongside Unity engineers into this and I am hoping for a fewer clicks = more streamlined approach to the data I want to make use of.

As for a release time, the date will be announced in early September with pre-orders opening at the same time. For the last few years, the game has arrived on Game Pass on day one as well.

New gameplay elements will be unveiled shortly after. Have a full read of Miles’ breakdown of what is happening with FM25 and we can’t wait to see this latest stop forward in this famous old franchise.

A recent update to Epic Games’ Fortnite removed the Eminem Rap Boy skin from the game without warning before it came back with a new Houdini emote. Chances are you have no idea what this means but Rap Boy is one of Marshall Mathers / eEnimen’s alter egos (along with Slim Shady) and when his new single, Houdini dropped ahead of the new Death of Slim Shady album and features the line, “And for my last trick, poof, just like that and I’m back bruh”

With perfect timing, the skin disappeared from the game only for Epic to bring it back, complete with a new emote saying on X, “And for our next trick… The Houdini Emote features music by
Eminem is in the Shop.”

Whether this was all part of some elaborate cross-promotion or just the devs having a bit of fun, it could also suggest that we will get more Eminem content to line up with the new album which is slated for release at some point this summer.

And for our next trick… The Houdini Emote featuring music by @eminem is in the Shop pic.twitter.com/dEuPP1Ag1m

— Fortnite (@FortniteGame) June 26, 2024

Rap Boy hasn’t been featured by Mathers for many years but it seemingly now he is set to kill off his Slim Slady character it could open the door to let him live on eternally inside Fortnite as his arch nemesis. The (very funny) Houdini video shows Rap Boy and Slim Shady fighting it out as Rap Boy attempts to stop Slim from getting him canceled after arriving through a portal from 2002 to find out the world has changed drastically.

Pure speculation but it will be no accident that Eminem is featuring with new content in the game just as what is bound to be one of the biggest albums of the year gets ready to drop. A new Slim Shady skin might just be an iconic and timely arrival.

Fortnite Festival anyone?

The Paroli betting system is a popular gambling strategy among gamblers that many deem a safer variant of Martingale. Unlike the Martingale, which involves doubling your bet after every loss to recuperate everything in one round, the Paroli system is about disciplined profit-taking, avoiding giving back your winnings.

Here, we will take a deep dive into the mechanics of this strategy, exploring how it functions in various gambling scenarios. Additionally, we’ll discuss the benefits of using this approach, as well as its potential pitfalls, like over-reliance on winning streaks and limited gains.

What Is the Paroli System?

It is a betting strategy primarily designed around the games of chance, such as roulette, baccarat, and blackjack. Its name is derived from the Latin word ‘’par’’, which means ‘’one that is equal’’, and fittingly, the system focuses on matching your previous bet equally after each win.

This makes it one of the positive progression betting systems, as opposed to negative progression systems where you increase the bets after each loss, like the Martingale.

The core principle of the Paroli System is to capitalize on winning streaks while keeping losses to a minimum. As with other progressive betting systems, you’ll need to carefully manage your bankroll and only focus on certain types of bets (with a nearly 50% win rate) that pay 1:1.

How Does the Paroli System Work?

The first thing any player should do is determine their betting budget and a betting size unit (how much you’ll stake per round). You can also take advantage of casino and sportsbook promotions to ramp up your gambling budget, but make sure to read the bonus terms first.

Your betting unit should be between 5% and 10% of the dedicated gambling budget, so if you plan to spend $100, you should stake $10 per round or per betting slip.

So, you bet $10 per round or slip, and if you lose, you use the same amount for the next round. If you win, you double for the next round to $20. If you lose on that one, you go back to your original bet size, and if you win, you double it again.

A good rule of thumb is to stop the ramp-up after three consecutive wins, but you are free to set these limitations or rules for yourself. The idea is that you should reset at some point or simply stop playing for the day. Remember, whenever you lose, you need to go back to your starting amount. This helps to secure profits and prevent losses from burning through your budget fast.

Examples of a Paroli System

The Paroli system is meant to be used on bets with even odds, where you have a 50% chance of winning, such as red/black roulette, pass/don’t pass craps, baccarat where you only bet on the player or the banker, and so on.

Though there’s always the house edge on all casino games, these bets are consistent enough for the system to work as they pay 1:1. The Paroli strategy is also applicable to sports betting if you bet on a single match where the payout is 1:1.

As stated, the Paroli betting system does require you to set aside a gambling budget and distribute it evenly. However, if you are using this strategy for sportsbook gambling there are betting bankroll management guides that you can use to help you determine how much to bet.

Tip of the day: As seasoned gambling experts, we often recommend tools like the Kelly criterion calculator, which helps you determine how much money to put on a single match based on the bookmaker’s odds and actual win probability. Also, if you end up guessing correctly, but the payout is lower than 1:1, which can be the case in sports betting, don’t double your next bet. Simply use that winning payout as the stake for the following bet.

Paroli System Pros and Cons

Here are some upsides and downsides to this system:

Pros

Controlled risk: The system resets after each loss.
Large win potential: Even when you hit a 3-round win streak, you still get meaningful gains.
Simplicity: It’s pretty straightforward and easy to follow. No complex calculations are needed.
Psychological benefits: By focusing on your winning streaks, your gambling experience can be more enjoyable.
Bankroll management: It promotes disciplined spending by ensuring that you only increase your bets when you’re winning.

Cons

Dependence on winning streaks: Without a winning streak, the system may not produce significant profits, and losses can accumulate over time.
No recovery: When you lose a few times in a row, a win or two doesn’t help you win your money back, so it can feel bad.

Using the Paroli System for Sports Betting

The Paroli system, while traditionally used in casino games like roulette and blackjack, can also be adapted for sports betting. That said, it’s difficult to find the matches or games with odds that support this strategy.

Even if you play on a phenomenal horse racing site, there are almost no horse racing bets with a 50% win rate that pays 1:1. But tennis, football, boxing, UFC, eSports matches, and similar competitions will likely have those odds.

One more reason why Paroli betting system isn’t ideal for sportsbook gambling is fluctuating odds. Unlike fixed-odds casino games with predictable patterns, sports betting outcomes are influenced by these external factors and variables.

So, a bet that pays 1:1 doesn’t necessarily have a 50% win rate. It can be lower, but it can also be higher. Always remember that, and use other analytical tools to determine if you should back team A or team B.

Paroli Betting Strategy at a Blackjack Table

Compared to other games like roulette or baccarat, blackjack’s element of skill makes it unique. Success with the Paroli betting system in blackjack hinges on both mental acuteness and disciplined spending.

Paroli betting system blackjack strategy requires you to adhere to a so-called perfect blackjack to maintain those near-50% odds. This includes knowing when to hit, stand, double down, or split based on your cards and the dealer’s face-up card.

Also, if you plan to count cards head on over to a trusted online casino to find operators with the best live blackjack offer. Also, start with a modest initial bet until the deck shoe is halfway depleted. Then ramp up to $10, for example, and adjust your strategy around the cards that remain in the shoe.

Suppose the majority of the shoe consists of higher-value cards, your odds of hitting blackjack increase. This means you might even end up getting 2:1 payouts which will definitely help you recover your losses in the earlier rounds. After three or four consecutive wins, reset to the initial $10 bet to lock in profits.

Bear in mind that in digital blackjack games, the cards get reshuffled into the virtual deck. So there is really no point in card counting. However, using the perfect blackjack strategy and Paroli betting system will still work decently, even in a purely digital version.

Paroli Roulette Strategy

Using Paroli in roulette feels satisfying because there are multiple 1:1 bets – red/black, high/low, and odds/pair. To get the most out of your Paroli roulette strategy, pick either the French or European version of the game. Both of these only have a single 0 on the wheel.

On top of the Paroli roulette system use logic to determine your choice pattern. For example, it’s less likely to get outcomes like R/B/R/B or R/R/R/B/B/B (R – red, B- black). A more natural outcome would be R/R/B/R/B/B/R etc.

You can use these natural laws to your advantage, and you can also view the outcome history in both digital and live roulette games. Of course, you don’t need to read into it too much, but it is a neat thing to know that might be helpful.

Paroli Betting with Other Casino Games

Players will love using this strategy in baccarat. This is another casino game with 1:1 payout options. All you have to remember is to bet on either the player or the banker and ignore the tie option as well as other side bets.

Just keep in mind that while the banker bet has a slightly lower house edge, it includes a commission on the wins, but this will barely affect your budget. Also, the Paroli baccarat system is just one of many baccarat strategies that players love to use, so make sure to check the alternatives as well.

Another game where you can implement the Paroli betting system is craps. It will serve you best on bets such as pass/don’t pass or come/don’t come. Again avoid the more complex bets with higher house edges and lower win profitability.

The Reverse Paroli

The opposite of Paroli is the well-known Martingale system. Unlike Paroli, where you double your bet after each win, with Martingale, you double your bet after a loss. If you love strategies with strong recovery Martingale or reverse Paroli is the best choice out there.

You start with a bet, $50, for instance, and after a loss, you double it to $100, and then to $200, and finally to $400. If you win the $400 bet, you’ll cover all your losses ($50+$100+$200=$350) and earn a $50 profit.

The upside of the Martingale is that as long as you eventually win, the system practically guarantees you’ll cover all your losses and make a profit equal to your original bet.

However, it’s a high-risk strategy, as loss streaks aren’t impossible, and they will feel devastating.

Tips for Using the Paroli System

Here are some tips that will help you regardless of whether you’re using the Paroli betting system for sportsbook and casino games.

Set a winning goal: Determine a specific number of consecutive wins before resetting your bet to the initial amount. Usually, players choose three consecutive wins. This helps you lock in profits and minimize risk. For example, if you start with a $10 bet and win three times in a row, you would then reset your bet back to $10 regardless of whether you win or lose on the next bet.
Start small: Don’t go all out on your first bet. This ensures you can sustain the strategy over multiple betting sessions and reduces the impact of potential losing streaks. If your bankroll is $100, an initial bet of $10 is reasonable, representing just 10% of your total funds.
Stick to even money bets: The Paroli system is most effective when the probability of winning is close to even.
Discipline and consistency: Follow the system rigorously. Double your bet only after a win and reset to the initial bet after reaching your winning goal or after a loss. Avoid the temptation to deviate from the system based on hunches or emotions.
Manage your session time: Set a time limit for each gambling session to avoid extended periods of play that could lead to exhaustion and poor decision-making. For instance, decide to play for no more than two hours in a single session.

Alternatives to the Paroli Betting System

While the Paroli system can be effective for many players, others might need different strategies that align better with their risk tolerance and betting style. Here are some alternative strategies or systems:

The Martingale system: As we mentioned previously, this system is the opposite of Paroli. It involves doubling your bet after each loss. If you don’t mind taking a bigger risk, this method can pay off.
D’Alembert system: A more conservative approach. You increase your bet by one unit after a loss and decrease it by one unit after a win. This system is less aggressive as it helps manage risk while aiming for steady profits.
Fibonacci system: Based on the Fibonacci sequence, this system increases bets according to the sequence (1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, etc.) after a loss and moves two steps back after a win. The numbers in this string are supposed to represent the number of your betting units, so it’s ideal for small bets of $1 or $2.
Labouchere system: Also known as the cancellation system, the Labouchere involves setting a sequence of numbers that represent betting units. You bet the sum of the first and last numbers in the sequence. After a win, you cross out those numbers; after a loss, you add the lost bet to the end of the sequence.

Paroli System FAQs

What is Paroli betting strategy?

The Paroli betting strategy involves doubling your bet after a win. After 3 consecutive wins or a loss, you revert back to your original bet.

Can you use the Paroli system on casino games?

Absolutely. It works best on casino games with even odds. Roulette, Baccarat, Craps, and Blackjack all have these fixed odds bets that pay 1:1, and your win rate is close to 50%.

Is Paroli betting guaranteed to work?

There’s no such thing as a gambling system that never loses. By referring to our guide and our tips and tricks, you can maximize the system’s strengths and make the most of it.

Is Paroli better than the Fibonacci system?

It is impossible to say definitively which system is better than the other. However, if you like approaches that are less aggressive and straightforward, Paroli might be up your alley. If you want more recovery potential, Fibonacci would be a better choice.

Can the Paroli System be used for sports betting?

Yes, but you should only make a single-match bet, where the approximate win rate is 50%. That’s difficult to tell obviously, so it’s advised you use additional analytical tools.

If enacted, the bill would prevent North Carolina from participating in any Federal Reserve testing of future CBDCs. Additionally, it would bar state agencies and courts from accepting CBDC payments.

The Carolina Journal reports that Senate Bill 690 received overwhelming support, passing with a 109-4 vote. This marks an increase from Tuesday’s 39-5 vote.

Senator Brad Overcash, a proponent of the bill, stated that its purpose is to discourage the federal government from pursuing CBDC implementation. He argued that such a move could potentially undermine the dollar’s status as a major global currency. He said:

This would bar our state agencies or courts from accepting a central bank digital currency, and it would also bar them from participating in a pilot project if one were to be initiated by any of the Federal Reserve Banks. […] This is an important step to the stability of our financial sector and our financial privacy.

Opposition to federal CBDCs

The North Carolina bill aligns with broader national skepticism towards CBDCs. In May, U.S. House Majority Whip Tom Emmer proposed the CBDC Anti-Surveillance State Act, seeking to halt the Federal Reserve’s efforts to develop a digital dollar. The act raised concerns about potential government control over Americans through a CBDC.

Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, speaking at a Senate Banking Committee hearing in March, emphasized that the U.S. is “nowhere near” adopting a CBDC in any form.

Earlier this week, Louisiana quietly enacted House Bill 488, a crypto bill known as the “Blockchain Basics Act” or “Bitcoin Rights” bill. Other than guaranteeing some crypto-related rights, the bill also prohibits CBDC creation.

When someone’s name is tied to a sword in Elden Ring, you know it’s probably one you’ll want to pick up to at least check out its unique attributes.

This is certainly furthered in Shadow of the Erdtree, with a few more weapons of this ilk added to the pool.

Leda’s Sword is one of these, but you don’t just simply pick it up off the ground on your travels in the Land of Shadow.

Read on for where to find Leda’s Sword in the Elden Ring DLC so you can explore it’s moveset.

Where to find Leda’s Sword in Shadow of the Erdtree

To get Leda’s Sword in Shadow of the Erdtree, you must defeat Needle Knight Leda herself.

You will have spoken with Leda as you progress through the story of the DLC, as she, and her allies are guiding you on a path forward.

She’s also the one who you talk to to actually enter the expansion, just to be even more clear on who the NPC is.

However, while you do converse with her and her party in the Realm of Shadow, refrain from killing her before the time is right.

This is because even if you do try and challenge her, she will teleport away, since there is a specific point in the story when you come face to face in battle.

Unfortunately, you will have to wait some time though because it is not until right before the final boss.

This is in Enir Ilim, and as you make your way up through the area, there comes a point where you are talked to by Leda, and subsequently challenged to a fight between her and the rest of the gang.

Defeating her will grant you with Leda’s Sword, alongside other gear that is equipped by the additional enemies in the battle if you grab them off their bodies afterward.
