Nobody enjoys censorship but instead of taking it to heart and complaining about the fact that its upcoming violently cute hardcore unicorn killing game – Gori: Cuddly Carnage – has fallen foul of the censors in China and Korea, the devs decided to react in a positive way and launch a drive for gamers to give blood as a way to get themselves onto the credits of the game when it is released.

We have looked at Gori previously – mainly because it’s a bit mad and that’s what attracts our attention but this definitely makes it worth another mention.

In Gori you play a cute yet hyper-violent cat (so a cat then) butchering its way through hordes of evil unicorns and other toys. The sheer amount of blood spatter seems to have unsettled the censors so it has had to be replaced in those regions with “purple toy juice.” which the British devs at Wired Productions say is “definitely not blood recolored.”

A statement on Gori: Cuddly Carnage pic.twitter.com/oMcZVgxGsM

— Wired Productions (@WiredP) June 25, 2024

This additional round of censorships got the teams thinking. With all the blood saved, Wired Productions and Angry Demon Studio decided to donate their blood in the UK and Sweden, in the hope of making a real-world impact and now they’re calling for players to do the same.

If you want to get involved you can do so by sharing a selfie of yourself on Instagram or X with the hashtag #GorisGotBlood and you will get to feature in the game’s credits as a Lifesaver. Pretty cool. This we like.

Those interested in donating blood in the UK can find more details at https://www.blood.co.uk. Players in Sweden can donate here: https://geblod.nu/bli-blodgivare and in the US more information is available here: https://americasblood.org

They have even doubled down with a new blood-drenched trailer for Gori which you can check out below. It’s all cartoon violence really but certain countries have been forcing devs to turn off blood in their games for decades.

Gori: Cuddly Carnage will launch on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch on August 29th for $21.99, €21.99, and £17.99.

Overwatch 2’s latest crossover — with Hasbro’s Transformers franchise — was announced back in June, and now fans have their first trailer showing what it looks like. It’s full of anime and woop-woop-wak-wak goodness.

The basic point is that Overwatch 2’s roster will get reskinned. So while we’re definitely seeing Megatron and Optimus Prime-inspired heroes, these are actually Overwatch 2 fighters in costume. The costumes are still pretty rad.

Reinhardt gets the father-figure role of Optimus, and Ramattra has a nice Megatron design. Bastion takes the role of loyal underdog Bumblebee, and Illari gets cast as Arcee. Those are the only roles confirmed. Overwatch 2 has a cast of 40 heroes overall.

While this is a nice anime it’s obviously not gameplay (and Blizzard still needs to keep its game balanced, so you can expect everyone to behave as they do usually) it looks like this is the extent of the crossover. Still, four characters in well-chosen getups from Cybertron likely took a lot of work.

They will be available beginning Tuesday, July 9 in the Overwatch store. Prices haven’t been revealed but considering this is licensed content from the world’s biggest toy maker, and a mega-movie franchise, appearing in a free-to-play, live-service multiplayer shooter, don’t expect them to come cheap.

Overwatch 2 launched in 2022, and is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.

Once Human is all about surviving the harsh lands of a post-apocalyptic world. While having enough resources to allow for this will be at the top of your agenda, fighting back against the monsters that reside in it is equally important.

But, it’s not just creatures you’ll be coming up against, it’s other humans too since Once Human isn’t strictly a PvE experience.

Here, we’ll reveal all we know about Once Human PvP so you know what’s in store for yourself when you’re exposed to the harsh open world.

How does Once Human PvP work?

Once Human’s PvP system is integrated into the main game, there is no separate mode for this unlike other titles.

It isn’t just a free for all though, attacking on sight. Instead, players can enter something called a Chaos state which allows them to attack other players and their buildings. In this Chaos state, your goal is to simply keep yourself in the state since hostile performing actions increases your Chaos, thus allowing you to keep your PvP dreams alive.

One thing to note here is that you cannot enter Chaos state unless you are level 10 and above. Additionally, you cannot attack anyone under level 10, which is great for those who are new to the game, making things a little fairer.

Once you do make it past that level 10 threshold though, you can party up with other players in that Chaos state and look to wreak havoc across the map.

However, with all of this being said, you can choose to avoid PvP entirely if you wish. This can simply be done by playing on a PvE only server and you cannot attack or be attacked by anything other than in-game mobs.

This is perfect for those that want a pure survival experience uninterrupted by other players trying to ransack their buildings and gobble up all the stuff you’ve collected. It does deter slightly from the full experience but it is all about personal preference!

Computer scientist Ray Kurzweil, an authority figure in AI, predicts artificial intelligence will expand “a millionfold by 2045 and it is going to deepen our awareness and consciousness.”

He is best known for his 2005 book ‘The Singularity is Near’ which predicted that AI would reach the level of human intelligence by 2029. He also said the merging of our brains with AI will occur around 2045.

Kurzweil also works at Google as a ‘Principal Researcher’ in AI. Now, almost 20 years on from the book’s debut, he has spoken with The Guardian about his predictions and new book titled ‘The Singularity is Nearer.’

He believes his 2005 estimations still stand true as he expects 2029 to remain an accurate date for “human-level intelligence.”

“Human-level intelligence generally means AI that has reached the ability of the most skilled humans in a particular domain and by 2029 that will be achieved in most respects.

“There may be a few years of transition beyond 2029 where AI has not surpassed the top humans in a few key skills like writing Oscar-winning screenplays or generating deep new philosophical insights, though it will.”

He explains how computing power will enable improvements in contextual memory, common sense reasoning, and social interaction which are areas that aren’t yet up to scratch.

Upcoming AI predictions include nanobots in the brain

Kurzweil says that we’re soon going to be “a combination of cybernetic intelligence” which will be made possible by “brain-computer interfaces which ultimately will be nanobots.”

He believes the nanobots will be the size of molecules and they’ll noninvasively go into our brains through the capillaries.

“Think of it like having your phone, but in your brain. If you ask a question your brain will be able to go out to the cloud for an answer similar to the way you do on your phone now – only it will be instant, there won’t be any input or output issues, and you won’t realize it has been done (the answer will just appear).

“People do say “I don’t want that”: they thought they didn’t want phones either!”

In the world of digital deep fakes and the rise of AI, not everyone is on board as the technology creeps into multiple industries. Actor Nicolas Cage says he is “terrified” of AI in a new interview.

When asked about his typical day-to-day when preparing for a movie, in a conversation with The New Yorker, Cage explains how he has “to go get a scan done for the show, and then also for the movie I’m doing after the show.”

After being pressed for further information about what the scans are for, he said: “Well, they have to put me in a computer and match my eye color and change—I don’t know.

“They’re just going to steal my body and do whatever they want with it via digital A.I. . . . God, I hope not A.I.

“I’m terrified of that. I’ve been very vocal about it.”

He says it makes him wonder “where will the truth of the artists end up.”

“Is it going to be replaced? Is it going to be transmogrified? Where’s the heartbeat going to be?

“I mean, what are you going to do with my body and my face when I’m dead? I don’t want you to do anything with it!”

The 60-year-old is attached to the upcoming Spider-Man Noir live-action series which will debut on MGM+. His reprisal of the role is still in early development, with a release window not yet being known.

It’s not just Nicolas Cage who is ‘terrified’ of AI, as 5,000 local voice actor jobs estimated to be in danger

The actor isn’t the first to be nervous about the future of the industry, as its growing dominance in other fields has been noted. Just earlier this week, voice actors in Australia said their careers are under threat due to ‘cheap AI clones.

The Australian Association of Voice Actors told a parliamentary committee that an estimated 5,000 local voice actors jobs are in danger. They said a national radio network in the country has already started investing in technology to replace humans.

The group is now campaigning for AI legislation as they expect the imminent risk to be high.

Astro Bot is a game that everybody wants to play but only those with a PlayStation 5 are going to be able to when it launches officially on September 6th. Even with Sony now dabbling with bringing its big PlayStation title to the PC, this just doesn’t feel like it will get a PC release, which makes Readwrite Gaming sad.

If you will be playing it though you will be happy to know that some of the VIP bots that will be included in the game that you can collect include some stars of videogaming history, including the legend that is Parappa the Rapper (Kick, punch it’s all in the mind – it was in my head so you can have it in yours too!)

Astro Bot is set to have 150 or so bots in the game when it releases and that includes the below list of confirmed VIP guests. Already though, this is enough to get us even more excited. Parappa as a cute Astro Bot? We are in.

Confirmed Astro Bot VIPs

So far we have VIP bots from 20 or so games with some franchises such as God of War having multiple characters.

We also have the aforementioned classic characters such as Parappa the Rapper (don’t get cocky, it’s gonna get rocky), which is just immense to be fair. What a hugely under-used character Parappa is. Anyway, here’s the list so far as confirmed by Radec on X.

What is Astro Bot?

The highly-anticipated PlayStation-exclusive platformer is Team Asobi’s follow-up to Astro’s Playground which was one of the games first shown at the PS5 reveal showcase back in 2020. Astro Bot is voiced by Hollywood royalty Matthew McConaughey.

If you are desperate for some Astro Bot trivia to impress your friends, he also appeared as a skin in Fall Guys.

Despite a country-wide ban, Pokemon Go was playable on mainland China due to a 30-minute glitch over the weekend.

It was on Sunday evening (July 7) when the very brief window of gameplay was open, with Chinese players able to send in-game postcards from Beijing’s Tiananmen Square.

People began flocking to ‘TheSilphRoad’ board on Reddit, which is self-described as being the number one spot for Pokemon Go discoveries and research, to share their experiences in the glitch.

One user explains how one of their friends sent over a gift from Beijing, with others being sent from Wuxi, in the Jiangsu Province, and another from Shanghai.

The lifting of the geoblock allowed Chinese players to explore the Pokemon Go world which was branded as “quite the experience.” A Reddit user who lives in Huizhou City, Guangdong Province said: “I have been living here for 2 months, and up until last night, there had been nothing on the maps.

“No pokestops, no gyms, no Pokemon, nothing. Last night, I was doing PvP in the apartment and when I exited the battle league and back to the map, I was shocked: right where I was is an empty gym!!

“And there were pokestops and Pokemon in the wild!!!” Shortly after, the game froze and the geoblock was enforced once again.

It isn’t yet known what caused the ban to be lifted and whether it’ll ever occur again, but it does mark the first time the game has been playable in China due to the ban.

Why is Pokemon Go banned in China?

The augmented reality game came under intense scrutiny from the government in China due to its use of real locations on the map. As a result, they cited national security and consumer safety concerns.

This meant it was never officially released in the area, as the government approves or denies all of the apps in the AppStore.

The Apple Watch Series 10, also known as the Apple Watch X, is expected to get both cosmetic and internal upgrades.

As Apple heads into the tenth series of its smartwatches, the Apple Watch X is thought to celebrate ten years of the devices. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, usually a reliable source for Apple rumors, wrote in his Power On newsletter that there are several specific upgrades on the way.

First up is a large screen, similar to that of the Apple Watch Ultra, but without the higher price tag. Gurman also reports that the Apple Watch Series 10 will have two variants, currently codenamed N217 and N218, and both will include options for a larger digital panel.

This is combined with rumors that the Apple Watch X will be thinner than those that came before, although the overall design will remain largely the same. You can infer that the proportions of the smartwatch may change but the general look is consistent with previous models.

Last but not least, the Series 10 is believed to be getting a new chip, setting up possibilities for Apple Intelligence and more AI compatibility. There could also be more health monitoring functionality, like a blood-pressure sensor and a sleep apnea utility, but, according to Gurman, Apple is experiencing “some serious snags” with the development of these tools.

When is the Apple Watch X coming out?

Nothing is known for sure about the Apple Watch X right now but its reveal is thought to be coming in September, alongside the next iPhone reveal. That event should clarify all the details about the Apple Watch Series 10 ahead of its release.

Since the official release of the very first Apple Watch was on April 24, 2015, Apple has until next year to actually release the next model in order for it to be a true ten-year celebration.

While many meme coins are currently facing downturns, BONK stands tall with an impressive 11% increase, outperforming most cryptos on the Solana ecosystem.

Bonk’s strong performance makes it a potential investment in the meme coin space, even during the broader bear market.

Let’s explore the factors behind the BONK token’s recovery to understand its current performance and also examine why this new AI meme coin called WienerAI is experiencing bullish growth.

BONK price prediction

Bonk (BONK) is down 24% in the hourly timeframe, but it has surged 11% in the past 24 hours. Over the past week, the token is down 2%, suggesting it may recover recent losses.

This resilience is impressive during a market downturn where popular coins like DOGE, PEPE, and WIF have seen declines of 14% to 34%. Bonk stands out not just as a meme coin but as a token with significant utility.

With over 12,000 holders and availability on 129 platforms across 11 different chains, Bonk is well-integrated into the blockchain community. This approach aims to elevate Bonk beyond its meme origins into a versatile utility token.

Accessibility is key to Bonk’s success. It is listed on more than 40 decentralized and centralized exchanges, including Binance, Kraken, and Coinbase, ensuring wide availability for investors and enthusiasts.

A strong community engagement strategy is one of Bonk’s strengths. With over 323,000 followers on X, Bonk is a prominent figure in the meme coin space.

The token supports community initiatives like the Bonk Art Masters Grant Programs and collaborates with influential groups like the Solana Foundation, enhancing visibility and fostering loyalty.

From a technical perspective, Bonk shows promising indicators. Technical reports suggest bullish sentiments with various buy signals. With a market capitalization around $1.79 billion and a current trading volume of $518 million, BONK shows resilience amidst market fluctuations.

Despite being down only 11% over the past month, it has outperformed other meme coins with more drastic declines. This strong market cap places Bonk among the top 45 coins on CoinMarketCap. Looking ahead, Bonk seems poised for further growth.

Despite recent market fluctuations, its resilience and strategic initiatives suggest potential for future gains. As Bitcoin and other major cryptocurrencies navigate uncertain markets, Bonk’s trajectory could align with broader recoveries, potentially reaching new all-time highs.

WienerAI (WAI) – Next crypto to dominate the meme coin market in 2024

WienerAI, a new meme coin set to debut on exchanges next month, shows potential to surpass Bonk, dogwifhat, and other leading meme coins. Already, WienerAI has raised $7.2 million through presale phase of its $WAI token, positioning itself for one of the year’s biggest token launches.

Investors and traders can currently participate in WienerAI’s presale at a discounted rate of just $0.000726 per token, payable in ETH, BNB, USDT, or credit/debit cards. Alternatively, potential investors can visit our guide on how to buy WienerAI tokens here.

Moreover, early $WAI token holders can stake their tokens for a limited time to earn attractive rewards of up to 156% APY. During its presale, WienerAI (WAI) garnered significant interest with the announcement of its upcoming trading bot.

Unlike typical bots where users set parameters and let it run, WienerAI’s solution aims to be a comprehensive trading companion. This new trading companion is designed to be exceptionally user-friendly, with its interface resembling ChatGPT, as shown in screenshots shared on X, branded with WienerAI’s identity.

More than just a bot–WienerAI is your ultimate crypto trading companion.

— WienerAI (@WienerDogAI) June 11, 2024

If it performs as promised, this could revolutionize trading for both new and experienced investors by predicting potential gains in cryptocurrencies before they happen.

While the crypto market can be unpredictable, external events can trigger volatility. Positive news affecting major coins, for instance, could spark a bull run amid a bearish trend and vice versa.

In less volatile times, the bot’s ability to instantly recommend which cryptos to buy and sell could prove invaluable to traders, offering real-time decision-making capabilities directly through the bot itself.

Before you dive into exploring this prediction trading bot, you can discover more about WienerAI’s future potential by checking out our $WAI price predictions.

WienerAI plans to introduce additional functionalities, including a fee-free swap and decentralized exchange analysis to optimize trading outcomes. These tools are poised to establish WienerAI as the preferred platform for traders seeking a competitive advantage.

Given these offerings, WienerAI’s ICO has emerged as one of the best crypto presales of the year. Secure your spot in the $WAI token presale by visiting wienerdog.ai.

The post AI job scams are up 118% – here’s what to look out for appeared first on ReadWrite.

Job scams are on the rise as criminals become more sophisticated in their approaches and use AI to steal personal information. In 2023, reports of these scams had jumped by 118% from the year prior.

The Identity Theft Resource Center shared the Trends in Identity Report which highlights information from victims collected throughout the year.

The job and employment scams were found to be primarily carried out through websites like LinkedIn and job search platforms.

Typically, scammers will pose as recruiters and create fake job listings to attract people looking for work. The information inputted during the application process is then stolen.

The rise of AI has contributed to the scams as the report says: “The rapid improvement in the look, feel and messaging of identity scams is almost certainly the result of the introduction of AI-driven tools.

“A.I. tools help refine the “pitch” to make it more believable as well as compensate for cultural and grammar differences in language usage.”

The organization explains how the primary defense against the new advanced technology is much more low-tech as they suggest people pick up the phone and verify the contact directly from the source.

Victims are losing $2,000 in AI job scams

This has been further backed up by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) as they say tens of thousands of people have reported business and job opportunity scams.

According to data from the year prior, in 2022, people told the FTC they lost $367 million to these scams which was an increase of 76% from 2021. The median loss was found to be $2,000.

Aside from the fake listings, another commonly reported scam is pyramid schemes which typically present as a way for people to start their own business or gain financial freedom from working from home.

Promoters claim people can make good money by selling their products, but the revenue actually comes from how many new participants can be recruited.
