The parent company of sports betting and gaming businesses, Super Group, will be exiting the United States sportsbook market due to a lack of a path for profitability.

The company owns Betway, a leading online sports betting and gaming business, as well as the multi-brand online casino Spin.

On Wednesday (July 10) the company announced its departure via a press release.

They say the decision came after the “completion of an extensive internal review,” as they now plan to undertake an exit plan.

As such, the company, along with relevant regulators and partners, will soon begin the process of fully closing its U.S. sportsbook operations in the nine states in which it operates.

Chief Executive Officer Neal Menashe commented: “As a global business, we constantly evaluate the optimal use of our resources across all markets in which we operate. We have recently concluded an extensive review of our U.S. operations and, at present, we do not see a long-term path to profitability for the sportsbook product.”

Super Group’s iGaming presence to continue

“The vast majority of Super Group’s revenue is generated in iGaming and, in line with that strategy, we will continue to offer our leading casino product in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

“We are open to expanding our U.S. footprint if the right investment or strategic opportunities arise,” says the CEO.

The company will continue its iGaming presence and has plans to operate two iGaming brands from its Spin portfolio in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Super Group does expect to incur costs and charges in connection with the closer of its U.S. sportsbook operation. They say they’ll know more information about this during the next quarterly earnings call which is scheduled for early August.

But, they do say the costs and charges will “not have any impact on Super Group’s previously communicated capital allocation or operating plans.” The non-U.S. earnings are reported separately and will not be negatively impacted by the closure.

Jimmy Donaldson, who is known as MrBeast, has officially become the first-ever YouTuber to reach a whopping 300 million subscribers, creating a major gap between his competition.

On Wednesday (July 10) when the content creator saw his channel reach 300,000,000 he immediately took to X to celebrate.

He shared a screenshot of the accomplishment and said: “I remember freaking out when I hit 300 subscribers 11 years ago…lol”

I remember freaking out when I hit 300 subscribers 11 years ago.. lol pic.twitter.com/YJadTd0pZq

— MrBeast (@MrBeast) July 10, 2024

On June 2, the YouTuber finally beat out Indian music label T-Series in a long-running battle for the biggest YouTube channel.

Now, he’s leading the pack and has gained a huge gap over other creators.

Top 10 biggest YouTubers by subscribers

MrBeast isn’t the only one with an army of fans. However, many of the top 10 most subscribed accounts are companies, like T-Series, Cocomelon, and Sony Entertainment Television.

MrBeast – 300M
T-Series – 269M
Cocomelon – 178M
Sony Entertainment Television – 174M
Kids Diana Show – 123M
Vlad and Niki – 121M
Like Nastya – 117M
PewDiePie – 111M
Zee Music Company – 108M
WWE – 103M

PewDiePie is the only other individual YouTuber on the list and is known as an ‘OG’ on the platform. He’s from Sweden and became known for his comedic-style videos and latterly meme reviews. He was the most subscribed to on YouTube in 2013 and had the most viewed channel between 2014 and 2017.

He also had a heated battle with T-Series to become the most subscribed channel, with the Indian-based account beating him in 2019 and culminating in PewDiePie releasing a hilarious, sarcastic rebuke in his ‘Congratulations’ video.

Who is MrBeast?

Jimmy Donaldson started making videos under the username MrBeast on February 12, 2020.

His content has changed since then as he began by posting largely gaming-related videos, before then focusing on the fast-paced and high-production videos that he is now known for.

The most popular video on his channel, sitting at 630 million views, is titled ‘$456,000 Squid Game In Real Life.’ This 25-minute-long video was a remake of the popular Netflix show.

After that video, ‘Last to Leave Circle Wins $500,000’ is the second most watched at 455 million.

In a list of accomplishments on his YouTube bio, he writes: “Raised $20,000,000 to plant 20,00,000 trees, removed 30,000,000 pounds of trash from the ocean, built wells in Africa,” amongst many others.

Apple has warned users across 98 nations that they may be the subject of mercenary spyware attacks, similar to a warning about spyware attacks that reached 92 countries in April.

According to its website, Apple has been issuing these notices since 2021 and has reached over 150 countries.

The warning, which was sent directly to users thought to be targets of the attack, read: “Apple detected that you are being targeted by a mercenary spyware attack that is trying to remotely compromise the iPhone associated with your Apple ID -xxx-,”.

The message continued: “This attack is likely targeting you specifically because of who you are or what you do. Although it’s never possible to achieve absolute certainty when detecting such attacks, Apple has high confidence in this warning — please take it seriously.”

Who is responsible for the Apple spyware attack?

As well as the April threats, the situation presently closely resembles an attack in October, when alerts were sent to multiple journalists and politicians in India. The human rights organization Amnesty International later discovered that Pegasus, a military-grade spyware, was present on the iPhones of many of the journalists. It is currently unknown if Pegasus is responsible for the latest attack.

Pegasus was developed by NSO Group, an Israeli cyber-intelligence company. The spyware is so potent that it is classified as a weapon by the Israeli government.

Apple filed a lawsuit against NSO Group over Pegasus in 2021, saying the program has been used to “attack a small number of Apple users worldwide with malicious malware and spyware.”

Apple’s webpage on the issues highlights the targeted nature of these spyware attacks, saying “Such attacks are vastly more complex than regular cybercriminal activity and consumer malware, as mercenary spyware attackers apply exceptional resources to target a very small number of specific individuals and their devices.”

In January, NSO Group attempted to have Apple’s lawsuit dismissed, but a federal judge denied the motion, stating “The anti-hacking purpose of the CFAA [Computer Fraud and Abuse Act] fits Apple’s allegations to a T, and NSO has not shown otherwise.”

The post How to avoid the Xbox Game Pass price increase – for a while at least appeared first on ReadWrite.

We didn’t want to spend the first paragraph today on a rant about the price increase of Xbox Game Pass that was announced yesterday. Rather we decided to try to do something proactive and try and keep some of your cash in your pocket rather than Microsoft’s burgeoning bank account. We have been looking for the best ways to keep the wolves from the door, at least for as long as possible because times are hard for some people, and gaming can be an essential escape.

We covered yesterday the caveats of some of the price rises and how the system is tiered to extract the maximum amount of money out of subscribers, especially those in a family home with more than one gamer sitting around the table, have a read of that if you want our take.

The price rises themselves are not unsubstantial and the loss of Day One games in the new lowest tier makes the whole thing a bit pointless. We’d love to see the take-up on that. Rather, that tier probably exists to push people to the higher price tiers, it’s an old marketing tactic that makes you think you are getting more than you would on the lower tier, even though you are actually getting the exact same as you already were but now paying more for it. Psychology eh?

Anyway, while eventually we all succumb to the price rise there is a method that will allow us to keep paying the same, at least for a while, and save a bit of cash in the process, although there will be a bit of work to be done to get there.

Cheap Xbox Game Pass

The method we are going to use isn’t groundbreaking, nor is it anything dodgy, but it’s one that you may not normally bother with, but might be more inclined to do so with the new increase on the horizon.

The downside is it will cost a little more upfront, but will shield you from some of those price rises.

Things change depending on what membership level you have, so pay attention, but the premise is the same.

Xbox Game Pass allows you to ‘stack’ gift cards to pay for your membership for certain periods of time. So for example, if you are a Game Pass Ultimate subscriber you can stack up to 36 months of payment in advance by purchasing subscription cards and adding them to your account.

So say you were to buy three years worth of membership – which you can often do quite cheaply compared to the monthly fee – you could freeze your price at the current rate for that period of time.

To stop some of that though Microsoft has introduced a change to the Game Pass for Console tier, so if you are currently on that, this bit is for you. Membership stacking has now been capped at 13 months for those users, but you could still get 13 months in advance and keep your price the same while enjoying the same benefits. The Console tier will not be available to new Game Pass subscribers but if you are existing they can’t touch you.

So your choices are;

Accept the price rise
Stack your membership using cards bought at a supermarket or online
Search for cheaper membership from key-selling sites

What is that last one you say? Well if you check out sites such as CDKeys.com you can purchase membership cards online for cheaper than the regular retail. It’s all a bit of a grey area, but they have been around for ages and have good customer service. Just be careful when you are to get the card for your region – if it is a UK card it won’t work on a US account etc.

At the moment a UK Game Pass Ultimate 3-month subscription is going for £24.99. That’s a saving of around £15 on the current price, but when the price rises to £14.99 a month we are talking about considerable savings. So if you bought four of those for £100 and used them when the price rises, you would save £80 over the year. Money better off in your pocket for sure.

And yes, Game Pass Ultimate will cost you £180 / $ 240 per year from September – it’s a lot when you add it all together, something they never do.

So if you are in a position to do this, there is literally no reason not to.

Samsung has introduced its latest Galaxy wearables and foldable phones at the recent Unpacked event in Paris, featuring the new Galaxy Ring, Galaxy Watch Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Here’s everything you need to know about all the latest products, including its innovations in artificial intelligence.

Samsung Galaxy Ring

After months of anticipation since its teaser in January, the Samsung Galaxy Ring was officially revealed. The device has three sensors that monitor various aspects of its user’s health, such as sleep, heart rate, and activity levels. Unlike the Oura Ring, it offers personalized insights without needing a subscription. The ring is designed to continuously sync with Samsung Health.

Samsung is using its Galaxy AI to analyze the data collected by the ring. This then gives an “Energy Score” and a “Sleep Score,” which assesses the quality of sleep. The wearer will receive wellness tips tailored to their specific health goals. In the event, they stated that it was the “pinnacle of unobtrusive health technology.”

The Galaxy Ring also introduces practical functionality with its double pinch gestures, so users can remotely take photos, snooze alarms, or stop them entirely. It also provides inactivity alerts, similar to those found on smartwatches, so it will tell people to move if they have been inactive for too long. Although it is compatible with any Android 11 phone, it works best with Samsung Galaxy devices.

With up to seven hours of battery life and a robust titanium build, the ring can be worn continuously. Priced at $399, it’s certainly more expensive than current wearable technology. The Galaxy Ring is now available for pre-order and is set to release on July 24.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 is among the latest gadgets to get Galaxy AI. The Galaxy Z Fold 6, the latest in Samsung’s line of book-style foldables, is now the slimmest and lightest yet, featuring a larger cover display and a main display made with new, more durable materials. The main display also has an increased brightness of up to 2,600 nits, much more the previous model’s 1,750 nits.

Both devices have now include the “Circle to Search” feature, so users are able to translate text on the screen with a long press. It can even provide step-by-step assistance with math problems. The new models are more environmentally friendly, and has more recycled materials in their production.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, delivering substantial performance improvements, including a 42 per cent faster neural processing unit (NPU), a 19 per cent improvement in graphics processing unit (GPU), and an 18 per cent increase in central processing unit (CPU). There are also better gaming functionalities in this model.

Another feature is the integration of Google’s Gemini on the Galaxy phones. Users can activate the assistant with a simple “Hey, Google” command. This has been extended to multiple apps, such as YouTube and Google Maps, making it easier to multitask.

Despite the upgrades, the camera and battery specifications remain unchanged from previous models. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 will be available starting July 24, with prices beginning at £1,799, and will come in three color options: blue, silver, and pink.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 was described as a “powerful medium for self-expression.” The smaller model has an updated camera system, which now includes a 50MP wide sensor—an upgrade from the previous 12MP—powered by the Pro Visual Engine. This improvement is expected to capture finer details and more vibrant colors in photos. The AI of the camera optimizes lighting conditions and enhances skin tones, making them appear better and brighter.

The camera’s AI now supports up to 10x zoom and introduces the FlexCam experience, so photos can be taken hands-free. The Galaxy AI also improves video capabilities with features like Instant Slo-Mo, making it easier to slow down and share clips.

Samsung has also integrated a vapor chamber in the Z Flip for the first time, pairing it with an larger 4,000 mAh battery. This model is touted as “the strongest Flip yet” in terms of durability, according to Samsung. The device has FlexWindow, which streamlines tasks such as sending text replies, making payments, and more, while the AI suggests possible replies.

Personalization options have been expanded to include live videos for wallpapers and dynamic photos that adjust according to the time of day and weather conditions. The battery size now matches that of the latest Motorola Razr Plus 2024, which is known for its impressive battery life, which is an improvement over the Galaxy Z Flip 5.

Samsung has added a cooling vapor chamber to the Galaxy Z Flip 6 – another first for its flip phones. The phone will launch on July 24 with prices starting from £1,049, available in blue, silver, yellow, and green. Live Translate and Note Assist, already present on the S24, along with more intelligent suggested replies, will also be available on both the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra and Galaxy Watch 7

Samsung’s Galaxy Watch Ultra is tailored for outdoor enthusiasts, including a dual-frequency GPS system that uses two satellite signals for better location accuracy. It provides up to 100 hours of battery life and 10ATM water resistance. Priced at $650, this model is more affordable than the $800 Apple Watch Ultra 2, yet it has similar high-end attributes like a titanium case.

The watch has health monitoring approved for specific regions such as Blood Pressure monitoring is available in the E.U., while the U.S. FDA has cleared it for ECG testing and sleep apnea detection. It also includes a feature for detecting Advanced Glycation End-products.

The Galaxy Watch Ultra introduces Double Pinch Gesture Controls as well. It is designed to withstand extreme temperatures and water depths up to 100 meters, catering to the needs of adventurers and triathletes. The watch includes a customizable quick-action button for various gestures like long presses and double taps.

Launching in a 47mm size, available in grey, white, or silver, and equipped with LTE as standard, it will be released on July 24. The Galaxy Watch 7, also upcoming, features the world’s first 3nm processor, promising triple the speed of its predecessor and improved sensor accuracy.

Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro

The newly unveiled Galaxy Buds 3 Pro from Samsung has a blade-like design that closely resembles the AirPods. Despite the similarities, Samsung stresses the extensive efforts taken to make it more wearable, with better ear shape and fit. The Buds are priced at $249.

Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 3 Pro are engineered to deliver an intelligent sound experience, using machine learning to ensure clearer calls. They have adaptive noise control to remove background noise, yet include a siren detect mode to alert users to critical sounds like nearby ambulances.

The technical aspects of the Buds 3 Pro are impressive, with advanced speakers and amplifiers, along with woofers and tweeters that optimize audio output. During a presentation at the Louvre, Samsung demonstrated the sound quality of these earbuds by playing music through theater speakers, showcasing their “studio-quality listening experience” with clean and crisp sound.

The post Will Water Meme Coin $WATER Pump Again Like It Did After Messi’s 4x Surge? appeared first on ReadWrite.

Famous footballers Lionel Messi and Ronaldinho recently posted about the meme coin $WATER on their Instagram accounts.

This high-profile marketing, given their immense popularity, raises the question: will the price of $WATER surge again, similar to the 4x increase it experienced following Messi’s initial post?

Water (WATER) price analysis and price prediction

Water (WATER) meme coin experts are looking bullish. Over the last four months, meme coins have performed exceptionally well.

The meme season isn’t over yet, and a percentage of blue-chip memes will likely continue to thrive even after the peak.

Recently, the Water token made a significant announcement. Lionel Messi, the famous number one football player in the world, posted about the Water meme coin on his Instagram stories.

The price of the token nearly quadrupled instantly after his post. This endorsement was followed by Ronaldinho’s post, further fueling speculation and investor interest.

The Water token boasts a market cap of $63.54 million and decent liquidity of $6.71 million. This, along with its over 47,000 holders, suggests Water is a well-established meme coin with a strong community.

Water recently experienced a surge in value thanks to a well-timed Instagram post by Lionel Messi. This buzz has spread across X and has been discussed by several prominent crypto news outlets like CoinDesk.

Meme coin $WATER soared recently after soccer legend Lionel Messi promoted it on Instagram.

In the two hours following the post, the token surged 356% before subsequently pulling back.

Watch “Chart of the Day” explain the data, presented by @cryptocom. pic.twitter.com/pLbqZoLgy5

— CoinDesk (@CoinDesk) July 10, 2024

His endorsement and massive following caused the token price to skyrocket, reaching new highs before experiencing a slight correction.

However, Water is showing signs of recovery. At the time of writing, the $WATER meme coin sits at $0.0008651, down slightly from yesterday.

This dip could represent a buying opportunity for potential investors, especially considering predictions of a 225% rise by August 10th, 2024, reaching a price of $0.002869.

Water is readily available for purchase on decentralized exchanges like Raydium, OKX, and Jupiter. Additionally, it’s listed on centralized exchanges such as Bitget, MEXC, and Bitmart, with promises of further exchange listings in the near future.

$WATER: An investment opportunity with high rewards and potential pitfalls

The $WATER coin boasts a unique combination of charitable giving and exciting prize opportunities for holders.

Owning $WATER grants you the chance to win incredible experiences like a luxurious world cruise, an Icelandic getaway, VIP trips, and even your own private yacht.

The project’s fresh website and high-profile endorsement have fueled bullish sentiment among many investors. However, a potential red flag exists. Roughly 30% of the token supply is reportedly controlled by the project team.

This concentration of ownership raises eyebrows within the crypto community, as it can negatively impact price stability and investor trust. Calls for transparency and clear communication from the project’s leadership have emerged in response.

Despite this concern, the Water token’s official website offers a clear picture of its features, utility, and future plans. The roadmap outlines ambitious goals for growth and community engagement.

Key milestones include increasing liquidity, establishing strategic partnerships, and expanding charitable initiatives through the WATER Foundation.

These initiatives, if successfully implemented, could solidify WATER’s position within the competitive crypto landscape, providing a compelling reason for both investors and supporters to remain engaged.

The post Can you delete characters in Once Human? appeared first on ReadWrite.

Even though you might have spent a bunch of time perfectly crafting your character in Once Human, there may come a point where you just want to start from scratch.

In most games, you can simply just delete said character and begin anew, playing from the beginning once more.

However, it appears things are a little more complicated in Once Human.

Here, we’ll explain character deletion in Once Human so you know what to expect if you want to start fresh.

Can you delete characters in Once Human?

Before the launch of Once Human, it was stated by the devs that you were able to switch between different servers but a character deletion was potentially required in order to do so.

However, now the game is here, deleting a character in Once Human is just not possible at this time, leaving many very confused by this decision.

This means you’ll have to be absolutely certain when confirming the look of your character as you’ll be stuck with it forever.

On the flip side though, Starry Studio has listened to feedback regarding this aspect and has already released a statement on it.

In this community post on Steam, Starry Studio stated that multiple-character creation functionality has been “urgently opened up”, allowing you to have more than one character.

This was initially planned for August but the date has been brought forward since so many have requested it.

This will enable you to hop onto different servers and get to playing with your friends, a perfect early change from launch.

It still doesn’t fix the character deletion issue but since you’ll now be able to have various characters, a delete function will surely be available in due course.

In Once Human, you’ll need to be a real hunter gatherer since there are many resources available, aiding you in surviving the open world.

Ores are pretty key when it comes to crafting new gear for either yourself or your base, and Tin Ore is something many players are after.

Here, we’ll reveal a couple of great locations for mining Tin Ore so you can get to farming some and stock up those stores.

How to get Tin Ore in Once Human

To secure Tin Ore in Once Human, you’ll have to locate Tin Ore deposits. These can be found in various locations around the map but there are better spots than others.

Tin Ore deposits don’t exactly stick out though – they’re not as shiny as others, so make sure you’re running up to each of them to make sure you don’t miss one.

One particularly great place to farm Tin Ore is in the Iron River area. This is a pretty high level location but it is rich in both Tin and Silver Ore, and you can net yourself a good bunch if you’re able.

For precise coordinates, you’re looking around (7372, -4217) where a bunch of the deposits can be seen.

You will need to reach level 17 in order to gain access to here though so keep that in mind before charging straight to it.

Another, less risky place to pick up some Tin Ore is in the Broken Delta region. Here, you’re looking at a level 12 area which is significantly less than the aforementioned Iron River.

You’ll need to focus on the coast here as it’s the easiest source, and you’ll likely be able to avoid any enemies if you’re a low level.

Finally, you will need a Copper Pickaxe in order to actually collect the Tin so ensure you’ve got one by crafting it via the workbench before setting out on your Tin Ore expedition.

The post Rennsport – first look at the new racing sim on Epic Games appeared first on ReadWrite.

It’s been eagerly awaited. There has been a long wait for a new racing challenger to come along. People are still happily modding the life out of Assetto Corsa and which came out a decade ago.

As sim racing gets more and more popular and gear to play the games beyond using a standard game controller comes down in price there has been a resurgence in interest. About to jump above that wave is new race sim Rennsport, which has the benefit of using Unreal Engine 5 so we know it is going to look fine!

Having gone through a recent closed beta, Rennsport has just dropped into Open Beta form on Epic Games Store before it heads into Early access later in the year. It’s free to play and you will be able to add a free GT car to your garage just for taking part and there’s a choice of four to pick from. This is done when you first load the game and are sent off on a tangent to sign up for a Rennsport account. It’s all very simple although I was irritated by having an error on my sign-up form because I had dared to use a capital letter at the beginning of my username. Really? Grammar is that dead now?

Once that is done you can use those deets to log into the game proper and you are presented with a fairly standard Assetto Corsa/Project Cars main menu.

The first thing I did was calibrate my attached Moza Racing R3 wheel and pedals. This was more fiddly than I would have liked, but I am putting it down to me not reading the on-screen instructions properly. I ended up the first couple of times with the wheel calibrated wrong by 90 degrees.

Eventually, I sorted it out and was then able to have a look at by choice of cars and tracks, which is pretty good for an open beta – what we will get eventually may be less though. I checked to see if my free car was there and it was, no problems and from there I could select my car and track to head out onto.

Before I did I checked by the game’s Item shop where there are three different tiers of Founder’s Pack which you can purchase to support the devs. The cheapest is £15.99/$19.99 and for that, you get a voucher for another car and a track, plus a cosmetic Founder’s badge. The other two are more expensive and offer things such as your name in the game and extra car vouchers. Overall it’s not too bad if you think you will be investing in Rennsport going forward.

Heading to the track

To be clear this is not a review or even close to a preview, the game only came out an hour or so at the time of writing but I will give you my first impressions here.

The track loads quickly enough and from there you can hit a key to start off in the pit lane. A ticker below your mirror shows you your speed and the speed limit for the Pit Lane and this vanishes when you are free to accelerate into the nearest wall.

I took the first couple of laps easy to get a feel for it and the driving seemed very responsive. The graphics are really nice and the engine sounds were realistic and not obnoxious. The Moza Racing wheel handled very well and it is clear Rennsport is at a pretty polished stage ahead of Early Access.

We covered some of the ideas the devs have around monetization and this will ultimately make or break the game when it comes to the users. At the moment the three tiers of starter Founders’ pack are fine, but Assetto Corsa, while having its own DLC packs thrived on the back of community mods.

There have already been cross-words between the developers here and rFactor2 devs who have accused them of using their technology and what we don’t need is a massive catfight. We just want another great racing game to play with.

You can check out Rennsport on Epic Games Store right now and we will be covering its evolution further in the coming weeks when we have played it a lot more.

Elon Musk has confirmed that Grok 2 will ‘probably’ be ready to be released next month. This is the next generation of his artificial intelligence tool Grok.

The billionaire gave an update in a reply to a news source who shared headlines about xAI’s chatbot Grok on X (formerly Twitter),

“Grok 2 is going through finetuning and bug fixes. Probably ready to release next month.”

xAI contracted for 24k H100s from Oracle and Grok 2 trained on those. Grok 2 is going through finetuning and bug fixes. Probably ready to release next month.

The tool is available to all X users who subscribe to the Premium Plus service at $16 per month (or $22 via the app). And unlike traditional chatbots, like major competitor ChatGPT, Grok has been programmed to exhibit a politically incorrect and witty personality.

The tool has real-time knowledge of current events, including recent developments in AI technology, and has been integrated completely into the X platform.

The company behind it, known as xAI, describes their work as “building on artificial intelligence to accelerate human scientific discovery.”

Oracle and xAI’s potential relationship comes to an end

The Tesla CEO expanded on other areas of the business too and explained how the chatbot has been trained on 24k H100s.

“xAI is building the 100k H100 system itself for the fastest time to completion. Aiming to begin training later this month. It will be the most powerful training cluster in the world by a large margin.”

Instead of going with another company, the 100k H100 has been done internally due to the business’s “fundamental competitiveness” as they aim to be faster than any other AI company.

Elon says “this is the only way to catch up.” The American computer technology giant Oracle and Musk’s xAI have been in talks on a server deal for some time.

“Oracle is a great company and there is another company that shows promise also involved in that OpenAI GB200 cluster, but, when our fate depends on being the fastest by far, we must have our own hands on the steering wheel, rather than be a backseat driver,” writes Elon.

A specific date for the arrival of Grok 2 isn’t yet known, but Musk will likely take to his own social media platform to share the news.
