It may be less than six months ago that we were introduced to the OnePlus 12, but attention is quickly switching to the potential release of the OnePlus 13.

The Chinese tech giant arguably released its best smartphone yet when the OnePlus 12 hit the shelves back in February of this year, but rumors are already pointing to significant upgrades for the 13th edition of its smartphone range.

A few things have already started flowing through the grapevine. From a slight redesign to minor camera improvements and a battery upgrade, the early signs of what the OnePlus 13 might be like are beginning to surface.

So here’s what we know so far…

OnePlus 13: What we know so far and rumors

Design

Currently, there aren’t many expectations that OnePlus plans to make drastic design changes to the OnePlus 13, but drawings released by tipster Yogesh Brar on X suggest the circular camera array could be moved to the center of the smartphone’s rear. It was located slightly to the left of the OnePlus 12.

It also shows a rectangular camera array for the OnePlus 13R, presumably as a way of setting apart both OnePlus’ mid-range and budget handsets.

Beyond that, we’re so far in the dark about any more potential OnePlus 13 design changes.

Display

Tipster Brar has also said that he expects the OnePlus 13 to boast a micro-quad curved display, with the top and bottom of the display curving like the left and right edges. Curved edges on smartphones normally just curve on the sides, so this would certainly be a stand out feature for OnePlus.

However, Android Authority have reported a leak on Weibo that the OnePlus 13 might go with a flat display with a four-sided curved display covering it to create a bezel-free look. The same leaker also suggests the OnePlus 13 will have a 2k OLED panel.

These are all just rumors at the moment, though.

Camera

To accompany the potential camera array change, OnePlus is believed to be considering a few minor tweaks to the OnePlus 12’s camera set-up.

It was widely suggested that the OnePlus 12’s camera was the company’s best yet, with a 50MP main camera, 48MP ultrawide shooter and 64MP telephoto lens that supports 3x zoom.

At the moment, only slight improvements are rumored to be in the pipeline for OnePlus 13’s periscope-style telephoto lens.

OnePlus’ recent major improvements in the camera department came following their partnership with lens specialist Hasselbad. We’ll have to wait a little longer to find out if both companies have any further camera upgrades lined up.

Battery

There are some initially worrying claims from Digital Chat Station on Weibo that OnePlus plans to drop wireless charging from the OnePlus 13, which does seem like an odd decision given it was restored to the OnePlus 12 after being dropped for the OnePlus 11.

That said, the OnePlus 12 had one of the best batteries on the market for lifespan, with Tom’s Guide reporting it lasting for 17 hours and 41 minutes in testing.

That means we should expect to see that at the very least on the OnePlus 13, while Digital Chat Station also believes the OnePlus 13 will enjoy a battery upgrade to 6,000 mAh from the OnePlus 12’s 5,400 mAh.

It is expected that OnePlus will use Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip, which is due to debut in October.

It wouldn’t be a surprise, given OnePlus uses the leading Qualcomm chip in all its flagship phones, with the OnePlus 13 being powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which allowed it to compete with the Samsung Galaxy S24 series.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will deliver big performance gains for Android devices once it debuts.

The only other major improvement that could be in line for the OnePlus 13 is its water resistance rating, reported via GSMArena, which may be upgraded from IP65 to either IP68 or IP69.

That means the OnePlus 13 will be able to survive more than just a few sprays of water, which is all the OnePlus 12 is capable of now.

What is the OnePlus 13 release date?

The OnePlus 12 was released in China in December 2023 before hitting the shelves globally a month later.

Therefore, there is the expectation that OnePlus won’t deviate from that schedule with the OnePlus 13, meaning a December 2024 release in China before going global in January 2025.

We’re not expecting to know more for a few more months yet, but the consensus is that this is the timeline we should expect right now.

How much will the OnePlus 13 cost?

It’s too early to deliver anything other than speculation surrounding the OnePlus 13’s potential price.

The OnePlus 12 started at $799 so we should expect the OnePlus 13 to be in a similar ballpark, especially given the potential of a new chipset and a handful of different upgrades throughout.

As more rumors and leaks begin to surface, we’ll have a better idea of what to expect but, for now, at least $799 is the guide price.

The Little Nightmares series is a highly acclaimed indie horror puzzle platformer series. In both the first Little Nightmares game and the second the player controls a young protagonist attempting to escape a nightmarish land called The Nowhere.

Developed by indie studio Tarsier Studios and published by Bandai Namco, both Little Nightmares I and II have become known as indie darlings, receiving both critical acclaim and commercial success. After Tarsier was acquired by Embracer Group in 2019, Bandai Namco kept the intellectual property rights to the Little Nightmares series, and the third game is being developed by Supermassive Games, famous for the Dark Pictures Anthology. Supermassive is also behind the Little Nightmares II: Enhanced Edition.

Excitement is high for the third installation in the series. Here’s everything we know so far.

When will Little Nightmares 3 be released?

Originally slated for a 2024 release, Supermassive announced in May of this year that in order to give the game “the love and care it deserves” it will be delayed until 2025. It is unclear whether the delay is due to redundancies in February which saw Supermassive lose nearly 100 staff members.

They haven’t given a specific date yet, or even a timeframe for us to look to, but after a delay, it seems safe to expect a date later in the year – during the fall around Halloween is the perfect time to release a highly-anticipated horror game after all.

What platforms will Little Nightmares 3 be on?

Little Nightmares 3 has been announced for the PC, the Nintendo Switch, the PlayStation 4 and 5, and the Xbox One and Series X|S. Fans will be delighted that the series continues to release on the last generation of consoles, something increasingly uncommon as we get further through the next-gen lifecycle.

Little Nightmares 3 plot and characters

In the first game, players helped Six escape from The Maw; in the second, Six aided Mono in their escape from the Pale City; in Little Nightmares 3, players will help Low and Alone escape from The Spiral and face their childhood fears.

Bandai Namco has revealed a number of locations so far. The Necropolis is a haunting desert described as “a peculiar place raised from the desert sands and powered by gusting winds,” which contains a city described as “a city of eternal energy and certain death.”

As well as The Necropolis, which is the site of the nearly 18-minute gameplay trailer, two other locations have been mentioned, with no details being provided. “An unsettling funfair” and a “gloomy factory” are both places through which players can expect to guide Low and Alone.

As for Low and Alone, they are best friends. Low has been in The Spiral for a long time but still hopes one day to find his way home. Alone is a curious tinkerer and is always on the hunt for secrets.

Will Little Nightmares 3 be multiplayer?

Little Nightmares 3 has been designed to be multiplayer from the ground up and will feature it from launch. However, it will be online co-op only, with no plans for a local co-op mode.

This was a deliberate decision, according to game director Wayne Garland, who said in an interview with Games Radar “Couch is something that we considered, but again when you come back to the atmosphere and the immersion that we’re trying to elicit through Little Nightmares, I think it was important for us that we stuck to our online co-op only rather than traditional more party aspects.”

While Little Nightmares III centered around having two protagonists, the third installment is leaning into this model even further by being the first game in the franchise to introduce online multiplayer. Bandai Namco has confirmed that only one person would need to own the game to play it multiplayer through the use of Friends Pass.

If you are a solo gamer, however, worry not, because you can have an AI player-two take control of your companion, enabling a single-player experience.

Little Nightmares 3 gameplay

Bandi Namco have released an 18-minute extended gameplay trailer that players can watch to get a handle on the kind of puzzle platforming which can be expected from Little Nightmares 3.

Following its predecessors, Little Nightmares 3 is a puzzle platformer set in a 2.5D world. Taking cues from Little Nightmares 2, the two protagonists will have to work together to overcome their environments and find their way through The Spiral.

The gameplay will look familiar to fans of the first two games in the series and will likely feature ideas that build on the same theme, enhancing the iconic style, rather than changing things too far away from what players have come to expect from the series.

In terms of combat, Low possesses a bow and arrow to pick off enemies from afar, whereas Alone favors a wrench as a melee weapon. Low’s bow might also come in handy outside of combat, too. As always, stealth will also feature as you guide the protagonists through each area.

Each area will feature its own antagonists, with a distinct feel. Garland, in the Games Radar interview, said “There will be antagonists for each level, each kind of twisted and focussed on their own delusions in their own way.”

Elden Ring is, to put it mildly, a very hard game, and Shadows of the Erdtree, the exceptional DLC, has doubled down on being hard.

Managing your levels and stats is extremely important in making progress in the game, and reaching the stat caps can make a huge difference in how challenging the experience is.

If you just want to level up fast in Elden Ring (perhaps to experience the DLC, which requires beating some particularly difficult bosses), there are a few items you can grab to speed up the process and some locations in the game to efficiently farm runes. Feed Torrent a Rowa fruit and strap in.

The Golden Scarab Talisman – increase Runes gained

If you’re looking to seriously speed up your leveling in Elden Ring, there’s one must-have item and it’s the Golden Scarab Talisman. This talisman increases Runes gained by a whopping 20% when worn, making it well worth the equipment slot.

The Golden Scarab is the reward for beating the boss at the end of the Abandoned Cave, a cave in Caelid filled with Scarlet Rot and tough enemies. You can get to the cave very early in the game, but it isn’t trivial to clear (nothing in Elden Ring is easy!).

Start at the Smouldering Wall Site of Grace and run East in an almost straight line until you get to a canyon. Stop approximately where the crosshairs are on the map above and look down, it should be possible to see the cave from there, although the entrance is quite dark. Walk across the branches on Torrent to get to the entrance.

The Abandoned Cave can be tricky because the floor is flooded with Scarlet Rot, making it impossible to reach the boss without using up several of your healing Flasks. It’s worthwhile finding or crafting some Preserving Boluses to counteract the Rot.

There also isn’t a Stake of Marika near the boss fight either – you have to run through the cave every time you need to fight the boss. Luckily the boss fight, while not easy, isn’t one of the hardest ones. Players have to battle two Cleanrot Knights, one with a spear and one with a sickle.

The second Knight doesn’t spawn in until the first one is at around half health and the easiest way to finish the fight is to focus down the first Knight and kill it before engaging with the second – it’s much easier than trying to juggle both at once.

Gold Pickled Foul Foot – increases Runes gained for a short duration

Another key item for Rune farming is the Gold Pickled Foul Foot. This is a consumable item that increases Runes gained by 30% for three minutes. It stacks with the Golden Scarab Talisman, increasing Runes gained by 56% in total.

Several can be found throughout the early game zone of Limgrave. Players can also craft their own Foul Foot – the recipe is sold by Patches in Murkwater Cave.

Best Rune farming locations in Elden Ring

So you’re ready with your Golden Scarab and your Foul Foot. All that remains is the Runes themselves. By far the best rune farming spots in the game are located in Mohgwyn Palace. Now that is a pretty late game area, but don’t despair – through completing Varré’s questline you can get there very early in the game.

Varré’s quest in brief

After defeating Godrick, go and talk to Varré at the Grace of The First Step
Go to Round Table Hold and talk to the Two Fingers and Finger Reader Enia (exhaust all of Enia’s dialogue)
Head to the Rose Church in Liurna of the Lakes and talk to Varré there

Tell Varré the Two Fingers “didn’t seem right” to progress. If you accidentally tell him they are magnificent, you can still talk to him again and say something seemed weird.
Keep talking to Varré until he gives you five Festering Bloody Fingers
Use the Festering Fingers to invade other players three times. You don’t have to defeat them, just invade.
ALTERATIVELY, if you’re playing offline, you can find Magnus, the Beast Claw in Altus Plateau and invade and defeat him to progress
Talk to Varré again to get the piece of white fabric
You can either choose to murder a maiden (Irina or Hyetta are the easiest options) or take the cloth to the Church of Inhibition in Liurnia to get your Maiden’s Blood from someone already dead

Return to Varré and get the Pureblood Knight’s Medal (you have to agree to have your finger cut off to get it, sorry)

Now you can use the Pureblood Knight’s Medal to get teleported directly into Mohgwyn Palace, where the game’s two best rune farms are located.

When teleporting to Mohgwyn Palace using the Medal, you are placed halfway through and have to backtrack through the area to find the Palace Approach Ledge-Road Site of Grace. Luckily you can hop on Torrent because the enemies here will hit hard if you let them.

Killing the Albinaurics

From that site of Grace, you’re right next to two excellent sources of runes. Don’t forget your rune-boosting items. The easiest and most obvious source of runes is the huge collection of passive Albinaurics sitting on the road right near the Grace. They aren’t hostile and you can take them out safely and methodically – just keep an eye out for the guards who might appear.

Each of the passive monsters here will drop 2,000 runes, which you can boost to over 3,000 with the Scarab and a Foul Foot. If you have any area of effect attacks, you’ll make extremely quick work of this area, but even a pure melee character can clear the zone for an easy 50,000+ runes in just 3-4 minutes.

Killing the huge bird

While running through the area you might have had to dodge some huge, disgusting birds. Now’s your chance for revenge. From the Grace, you can overlook an area with a big bird and a big ledge. Do you see where we’re going with this?

Equip a bow and some arrows – it doesn’t need to be anything fancy, the cheaper the better (you can also use a ranged spell, though it has to be one with a long-range). Take aim and shoot the bird from your vantage point. The bird, enraged, will charge at you…directly off the edge of the cliff to its death. This will net you an easy 11,000 runes (and can be boosted to over 15,000) and the bird respawns when you sit at the Site of Grace, about five steps behind you.

This handy YouTube video (hat tip to the creator Necrodaemus) shows just how quickly these runes can be farmed. You can level up in Elden Ring extremely quickly with this method.

Samsung, the global maker of audio and mobile devices, has halted the shipment of Galaxy Buds 3 Pro.

A statement to Android Authority confirmed that the overall reason for the shipments’ halt was that retailers reported several quality control issues.

Samsung halts shipments of Galaxy Buds 3 Pro

Samsung has been battling with reports of issues since some consumers noticed that the buds could be easily torn and damaged.

The manufacturer’s statement said, “There have been reports relating to a limited number of early production Galaxy Buds 3 Pro devices. We are taking this matter very seriously and remain committed to meeting the highest quality standards of our products. We are urgently assessing and enhancing our quality control processes.”

Amazon removed the product from its online store completely, while Samsung delayed the release to address the quality control issues.

“We have temporarily suspended deliveries of Galaxy Buds 3 Pro devices to distribution channels to conduct a full quality control evaluation before shipments to consumers take place,” the statement continued.

Samsung has taken the issue seriously, but it will do little to halt the negativity aimed at the company for such a flagship product.

The company concluded to those affected saying” We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Should any customer already in possession of Galaxy Buds3 Pro be experiencing any issues, they should contact Samsung or visit their nearest Samsung Service Centre.”

We reported late last month that the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro was an anticipated piece of audio kit for Samsung fans. So, the disappointment will be real for those who pre-ordered the expensive accessories.

Most Android users will hold to the accessories linked to the devices, but this is a bloody nose for Samsung on a marquee piece of tech.

The company will hope there are no quality control issues with the other recently revealed devices. We reported that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 would introduce a host of AI features that would replace and update the existing ones for Android users.

FiiO has reimagined the old-school CD player, named DM13, which is set to drop in September.

According to The Verge, the portable listening device will cost $179 for hardcopy fanatics who want to dig out their collections.

What is a CD player?

For those who missed the hard disk era, the Sony Discman reigned supreme and was a battery-powered portable compact disk (CD) player. Older portable music fans would have to carry around a mid-sized pocket folio of their favorite artists.

They would also have to have a ready stock of batteries to keep the CD players turning, which seems unthinkable in the era of on-the-move and contactless charging.

“Skipping” was also a thing that music fans had to endure as any contact with the casing or the CDs caused the tracks to literally stall or skip.

The Chinese audio maker responded to the Verge on social media, saying the new features will be on display as early as this weekend (July 20):

Technological advancements have made enjoying music easier for our favorite tracks, but FiiO has incorporated a few ways to listen.

Wireless audio wasn’t a feature of the CD era, so the new DM13 supports modern buds, and caters to fans who want the traditional experience. The DM13 has a 3.5mm headphone jack and a 4.4mm balanced headphone connection.

There is also a desktop mode that allows the CD player to be incorporated to a home listening setup. The stationary mode will be chargeable and provides around eight hours of power to the rechargeable battery.

The model comes with electronic shock protection to stop tracks from the ill-fated skipping of years gone by. There is compatibility with MP3, FLAC, WAV, AAC, and WMA audio files burned onto a CD-R (a writable CD).

The homage to the yesteryear of portable music enjoyment comes in a choice of colors: silver initially, with red, blue, black, and titanium set to come to stores later.

Here, we’ll be focusing on how to throw a Lob Pass in College Football 25 so you can get a bit a loft on the ball and hopefully in the safe hands of one of your teammates.

How to throw a Lob Pass in College Football 25

Throwing a lob pass in College Football 25 requires a bit of a deft touch as being delicate on the controller is key.

To throw the Lob Pass, initially choose where you want it to go, perform the snap, and tap the button for who you want to throw it to.

When we say tap, we mean a literal tap, do not hold it down at all as you’ll instead throw a different type of pass.

The throwing meter should really be almost empty with only a slight bit of blue in there and it’ll likely be a successful attempt.

The Touch Pass will be thrown if you hold it down slightly and a Bullet Pass will be unleashed by holding it down to its fullest, maxing the meter out.

As previously mentioned, if you do manage to get a Lob Pass off, you’ll be able to get those Hail Marys going, potentially in the end zone, and scoring those all-important points.

If you’re not going that deep though, these passes are still fantastic for getting out wide to any free player you have.

Evolution Malta Holding Limited (Evolution), a leader in gambling development, has announced its acquisition of Galaxy Gaming Inc. (Galaxy).

In a recent press release, the game of chance giant Evolution announced the news as part of an $85m deal.

The company views Galaxy as a leader in global table games and a developer of “state-of-the-art” casino gaming solutions.

Evolution acquires Galaxy Gaming

Galaxy Gaming is known for titles such as 3 Dice Bacartat, Dragon V Tiger War, and its World Poker Tour products.

The deal totals approximately $124 million, including net debt, but $85 million is the magic number for the company’s assets. Evolution snaps up the existing shares at $3.20 per share in cash, representing a premium of 124% of Galaxy’s closing bell price on the day of trading on July 17, 2024.

With this acquisition, Evolution will expand its foothold in the United States. The race to enter this market continues to heat up as gambling laws relax across multiple states.

“We believe this transaction represents the opportunity to unite two world-class, customer-focused Teams.” Matt Reback, President and CEO of Galaxy Gaming, said. “It combines Galaxy Gaming’s thriving land-based business, driven by our industry-leading games and progressive technologies, with Evolution’s global reach and innovative online gaming leadership.”

Galaxy Gaming is headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada, so the Malta-based Evolution has managed to conquer a pivotal foothold in the American gaming market. Gambling is a money-making machine that has only continued to serve states well throughout 2024.

This can be attributed to the massive amount of money states can accrue in tax and gaming contributions. California, for example, is experiencing a significant moment in gambling history as new bills are being proposed to expand gambling in the state.

However, the Tribes that control and have been the fulcrum for licensed gaming are a stumbling block for big companies hoping to get a clear run at would-be gamblers’ pockets.

Evolution now has a new opportunity to target gamers’ wallets in the heart of the world’s gaming capital. Martin Carlesund, CEO of Evolution AB, said, “Galaxy Gaming’s exceptional products and technology complement our existing portfolio and strengthen our strategic position.”
