The WienerAI (WAI) presale, an innovative AI meme coin, ends in less than 5 days, offering a final opportunity to invest for a potential 100x return when it officially launches.

This unique project, combining elements of a dog, sausage, and AI trading bot, has attracted attention over the past 2 to 3 months.

With just under five days remaining, WienerAI is set to go live, having already raised over $8 million during its presale phase.

Investors eagerly anticipate the future, as this coin offers the potential for significant returns on their investment.

WienerAI ICO enters its final week

Time is running out for WienerAI’s presale, with only a few days left before it ends on July 31st. So far, the presale has raised over $8 million, an impressive feat for a new project. The combination of AI and a funny meme character has attracted a lot of investor interest.

If you want to buy $WAI tokens at the lowest price of $0.00073, this is your last chance. You can purchase the presale using ETH, BNB, USDT, or a bank card. Potential investors can visit our guide on how to buy WienerAI tokens here.

In August, the WienerAI team plans to list $WAI on Uniswap, which could be exciting for those who bought $WAI in the presale. The team also aims for CEX listings to increase liquidity and promote WienerAI to a global audience.

Even though the crypto market, especially meme coins, has been struggling, the WienerAI team is determined to stand out. They are promising big announcements after the launch, which has created buzz in the community.

However, like any meme coin project, the post-launch period can be volatile, and prices can drop as quickly as they rise. For those willing to take a chance on a project with a lot of potential, WienerAI might be worth watching.

See what the future holds for WienerAI with our $WAI price predictions here.

WienerAI: Innovative meme coins with AI trading bots and high staking rewards

WienerAI is a hot new coin that’s aiming to change the meme coin landscape. The key feature of WienerAI is a smart trading bot that has everyone excited. Unlike typical meme coins, which often lack real use, WienerAI offers real utility with this bot.

The main feature of the platform is its user-friendly AI trading bot. This bot helps both beginners and experienced crypto traders find promising cryptocurrencies. It creates an AI-powered platform where users can ask questions, outline trading strategies, and get feedback on projects.

It’s like having a research assistant similar to ChatGPT for trading. Based on the user’s input, the bot searches the market for the best trading opportunities. Once users are satisfied, they can easily execute trades using the WienerAI interface.

No more struggling with confusing DEXs or multiple dApps. WienerAI offers the best prices, protection against MEV bots, and no trading fees. Users can track their previous and current trades.

The presale also includes a built-in staking system that allows investors to stake their tokens right away. Right now, you can earn a staking APY of more than 140%. However, this yield will decrease as more people stake their tokens. Already, over 7.1 billion $WAI tokens have been staked, showing high investor confidence.

Could WAI be your next big AI meme coin?

WienerAI’s advanced AI trading bot sets it apart by combining AI crypto features with meme coins. This project is unique because it provides real-world uses for $WAI tokens, giving buyers a solid reason to hold onto them.

In 2024, meme coins like Notcoin and Floki, which offer actual utility, have shown a promising path. WienerAI aims to follow this trend and could potentially be the next 100x crypto. While such returns aren’t guaranteed, WienerAI’s unique market position makes it an exciting prospect.

Early buyers have just one week left to purchase $WAI at the presale price before it goes live on DEXs. With high investor interest, 16,000 people have already followed WienerAI on X (formerly Twitter). Interested buyers can follow the platform’s X account for the latest updates.

FanDuel parent company Flutter Entertainment is considering a buyout of PENN Entertainment.

The potential deal would reverberate around the online casino landscape in Michigan, giving Flutter a powerful presence in the Wolverine State. Speculation is building that a potential buyout is in the offing, but there has been no concrete news or official confirmation from Flutter that a move is underway.

Previously, Boyd Gaming was said to be considering the same takeover and there were even reports of a joint bid by Flutter and Boyd, supported by the 5% holding of the latter in the former, to acquire PENN and its holdings.

Crucially, owning PENN would mean having control of Hollywood Online Casino in Michigan and its destiny. Flutter could retain the business as it is now, or choose a rebranding. This decision is flexible, as Michigan’s Lawful Internet Gaming Act allows a company licensed by the Michigan Gaming Control Board to operate two online casino brands. Either way, it would give the company a brick-and-mortar presence in the state. Flutter has had its FanDuel Casino online enterprise live and available in Michigan since 2021.

The above rule is already utilized by DraftKings, which operates the Golden Nugget Online Casino platform, while Caesars Entertainment is said to have another launch planned for later this year, to accompany its Caesars Palace app.

A market leader in Michigan

If Flutter goes ahead with the takeover bid, it would present an opportunity to boost the ESPN Bet brand which is currently available in MI, or to launch the dormant Betfair brand in the state.

With FanDuel, Flutter has the benefit of being a market leader in this Great Lakes State. It has been ranked as the second-top online casino by revenue generated while in March and April this year, it surpassed BetMGM as the leader in bets taken.

Overall, FanDuel Casino is said to control 26% of the Michigan iGaming market with the potential takeover primed as a catalyst for further growth in a market projected to collect over $2 billion in bets across all of 2024.

Whether it is the latest smash-hit broadcast series or a highly anticipated tech release, spoilers infuriate some people and delight others eagerly anticipating the details.

Ahead of Made by Google on August 13, some sparkle has been taken away from the launch of Google Pixel 9 with reams of marketing material surfacing online and giving away much of the information on the new showpiece device.

As reported by 91Mobiles, nine pages have surfaced detailing a lot of the new specs. Most of the intrigue now appears to be killed ahead of the Google event but it will be interesting to see if the Alphabet-owned company has left anything up its sleeve for the official reveal.

Design, specs, and features of the new Google Pixel 9 range

The new line of phones from Google has been given a bold update as reflected in the tagline for the redesign, “Fresh colors, polished edges, a soft matte feel, It’s Pixel, reimagined.”

The Pixel 9 is set to come in a range of colorways, from a dark grey hue to off-white, and pink. The sides of the device will have a polished or glossy metal touch, while the back panel will have a soft matte finish.

One noticeable alteration to the design is the camera bar at the top of the rear. A new oval shape has been adopted which is a departure from the style seen on previous models, including the Pixel 8. The Pixel 9 Pro will host three camera sensors on the back compared to just two on the Pixel 9.

On specs, there is a lot to unpack.

Pixel 9 will contain a 6.3-inch Actua screen, a 50MP wide camera complemented by a 48MP ultrawide rear shooter, and a 10.5MP selfie cam. It is expected to possess 12GB RAM, and a Tensor G4 chipset.

The flagship Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel Pro XL take things to another level with a 6.8 Actua display and 50MP main, 48MP ultrawide, and 48MP rear telephoto cameras. The G4 processor and 16GB RAM will be repeated on these devices.

Then there is the quirky Pixel 9 Pro Fold. It comes with a 6.3-inch Actua display front cover screen and an 8-inch Super Actua Flex inner. It will contain a 48MP main camera, 10.5MP ultrawide, and 10.8MP telephoto sensor, backed by the same Tensor G4 chipset and 16GB RAM.

AI will be a mainstay of the new series, with Gemini and Circle to Search ready to play a big role. There is also Magic Editor. Pixel screenshots will assist you in remembering events, places, and sought-after information, but it is not expected to have too much access to the content of your phone.

Pricing details have not yet been divulged, but hopefully, there are one or two more headline details to be revealed on August 13.

The post Roulette Odds & Payouts Explained appeared first on ReadWrite.

Roulette odds refer to the probability of a particular outcome based on bet type. Having an understanding of the odds for roulette helps players make informed betting decisions and manage their bankroll more effectively, which is key in gambling.

Continue reading to find the answer to “What are roulette odds?” and everything else you need to know about the odds of the wheel and become a smarter and better roulette player.

What are the Odds in Roulette?

It’s essential to know what the odds in roulette are before you start betting on roulette at an online casino. Roulette odds and payouts tell you the chances of winning your bet as well as how much money you will win if you bet on the correct outcome.

The likelihood of winning in roulette depends on the bet type. Several bets are available on “little wheel” tables, and each one comes with a built-in house edge, a mathematical advantage the casino has over players. In roulette, this house edge comes from the wheel’s extra zero pocket(s).

As an example, on a standard European roulette wheel, there are numbers 1-36, 18 red and 18 black numbers. There is also the zero, which is green. A bet on red gives you an 18 in 37 chance of winning, which is almost 50%. However, that “almost” is important, and it is what gives the house its edge as it pays out at exactly 50%.

Roulette Wheel Odds

The roulette wheel odds are very important when considering which type of roulette table to play at. In the previous section, we discussed how the zero pocket gives the casino a mathematical advantage over players. In European roulette, there is only one zero on the wheel. However, American roulette features an additional double zero.

This extra zero greatly impacts the roulette wheel odds and means this variation decreases the odds of a player winning. You have a 1 in 37 chance of hitting a straight-up bet in a single zero wheel, but this now becomes 1 in 38 on a double zero wheel. Despite this difference in odds, both tables payout the same at 35 to 1, meaning a bigger house edge.

Which Bets Have the Best Odds in Roulette?

When discussing the best roulette odds, you can view it as the highest odds being the best because they come with the highest payout. The bets with the best odds in this respect are inside bets.

Alternatively, you can look at roulette probability and view the best odds as being the ones you have the best chance of winning on. These types of bets will be the outside bets. Below, we run through the different types of bets and their odds and payouts.

Inside Bets Odds for Roulette

Inside bets refer to bets on specific numbers or small combinations of numbers on the inside part of the betting table. These have some of the best roulette payout odds, but they are much harder to win in terms of probability.

Straight-Up Bet: A straight bet is when you wager on a single number in a game. It has the best payout for roulette at 35:1.
Split Bet: A split bet involves betting on two different numbers. A single chip is placed in the line between two numbers, and if the ball lands in either one, you win and are paid out at 17:1.
Street Bet: A street bet is a bet on three sequential numbers in a horizontal line on the board, such as 1-3,4-7,8-10, etc. The game has 12 possible street bets, which payout at 11:1.
Corner (Square) Bet: This is a bet on four numbers that form a square on the board, and the payout for this is 8:1.
Six-Line Double Street Bet: A six-line or double street bet covers 6 numbers in sequential order, such as 1-6, 4-9, 10-16, etc. There are 11 possible double street bets on the roulette table, and they pay out at 5:1.
Five-Number Bet: A five-number bet, also known as a basket bet, is only available in American roulette. This bet covers the number 0,00,1,2,3 and pays out at 6:1.

Outside Bets Odds for Roulette

Outside bets give you the best chance of winning as they have the lowest casino roulette odds. This is because they reduce the table to two or three sections, meaning there are only two or three possible outcomes, making the odds lower and the chances of you winning much higher.

For example, you can bet on the number being red or black, and 18 out of the 37 pockets are red and 18 black. So, the chances of winning outside bets are between 32% and 48% depending on the bet. All outside bets lose if the ball lands in a zero pocket. Let’s have a look at the available outside bets in roulette:

Red or Black: A wager on whether the ball will land on a red or black number that pays out at 1:1, the lowest possible payout for roulette.
Odd or Even: A wager on whether the ball will land on an odd or even number that pays out at 1:1.
High or Low: A wager on whether the ball will land on a low number (1-18) or a high number (19-36) that pays out at 1:1.
Dozens: A bet on whether the ball will and on the first dozen (1-12), the second dozen (13-24), or the third dozen (25-36). This pays out at 2:1.
Columns: A wager on whether the ball will land on 1 of 3 specific columns, each of which covers 12 numbers on the board. This pays out at 2:1

Payouts for Roulette

As discussed earlier, all bets have a set house edge gained from the zero pocket(s). The payouts for American and European roulette are the same, but the odds are higher for American roulette. Because of this, the house edge for American roulette is 5.26%, which is 2.56% higher than European roulette’s house edge of 2.70%.

Most people prefer to spread their bets when betting on straight numbers, so working out the payout-to-bet ratio can be challenging. A simple way to do this is by using the sum 36/Bet-1=Payout. For example, if you bet an equal amount on six numbers, you do 36/6 – 1 = 5, so your payout is 5:1

Which Roulette Bets Have the Worst Odds?

Based on the likelihood of the outcome occurring, the worst odds are bets on straight numbers, as you have a 1-in-37 (2.70%) or 1-in-38 (2.63%) chance of happening However, they also have the best payout odds at 35:1. Bet types in roulette with the best odds of occurring are red/black, odd/even, or high/low but have the lowest payout.

Is it Possible to Improve Your Chances of Winning Roulette?

Roulette is a game of chance, and unlike games like blackjack or video poker, there’s no legal strategy for decreasing the house edge at in-person or online roulette sites. However, there are steps players can take to improve their chances of success in the long run.

Tip #1: Play European

Tip #1: Play European

Your chances of winning in roulette are far better at European tables. American roulette odds are worse than European odds, thanks to the extra double zero pocket that gives an almost 3% extra house edge to the online casino.

Tip #2: Don’t Use the Five Number Bet

Tip #2: Don’t Use the Five Number Bet

If your only option is to play on an American Roulette table, you should avoid the Five-Number Bet. This has the worst payout odds on a roulette table in relation to its probability and has the largest house edge of all roulette bets at almost 8%.

Tip #3: Manage Your Bankroll

Tip #3: Manage Your Bankroll

Managing your bankroll is not only a responsible gambling tool that can prevent gambling problems from developing, but it also gives you a better chance of being profitable over time.

If you sit at a live dealer casino table with $200 and start betting $50 a spin, you will likely deplete your bankroll pretty fast. It’s best to bet around 1-5% of your total bankroll at a time. This will give you the funds to weather losing streaks without going bust.

Tip #4: Set a Profit Target

Tip #4: Set a Profit Target

In addition to planning out your bankroll for each session, you should also set a profit target. The target should be achievable, so if you go in with $100, don’t set your target at $500.

An achievable target could be anywhere between 10% and 50%, depending on how risk-averse you are. Once you hit your target, call it quits for the day. It’s better to win small amounts regularly than go for broke every time.

Tip #5: Use Outside Bets

Tip #5: Use Outside Bets

One of your best chances of winning at roulette is using outside bets like odd/even, red/black, and high/low. These bets have the lowest roulette table odds and payouts available, so aren’t as exciting as a possible 36 to 1 payout in a straight number.

However, you have the best chance of winning with them, and your risk is minimized, particularly if you have a modest bankroll.

FAQ

What are the best odds on roulette?

In roulette, the best odds are bets on red or black, odd or even, and high or low. The probability of these bets hitting is 18/37 (European Roulette) or just under 50%. The best payout odds are straight number bets, which payout at 35:1.

Can a roulette betting system increase your odds?

No, roulette has a built-in house edge that cannot be changed without the use of illegal machinery and complex physics. Using a betting system can help you manage your bankroll effectively and give structure to your betting, but it does not reduce the house edge or increase your chances of winning roulette.

What are the payout odds in roulette?

On a European roulette table, the probability of hitting a straight-up bet is 1 in 37, but the payout is 35 to 1. The odds of hitting a number on an American roulette table are 1 in 38, but the payout is still 35 to 1.

How good are the odds in roulette?

The odds of winning roulette depend on the bet you place. If you bet on certain outside bets, you have almost 50% of winning. A bet on a straight number has just under 3% chance of hitting.

What is the safest bet in roulette?

The safest bets in roulette are bets on red or black, odd or even, and high or low. You have an almost 50% chance of winning these bets. While they are the safest, they offer the lowest payout on roulette at 1 to 1.

The post Deadpool & Wolverine x Fortnite: Release time, skins, price, and more appeared first on ReadWrite.

The hype around Deadpool & Wolverine is palpable and rightly so since we get to see Hugh Jackman reprising his legendary role but this time, in the comic book accurate suit.

Thankfully, you too will be able to don the iconic blue and yellow, along with the contrasting red and black of Deadpool in your favorite everything game Fortnite.

Here, we’ll break down what all of the Deadpool & Wolverine x Fortnite skins are as well as their price so you know what’s in store once the official release time hits.

Deadpool & Wolverine x Fortnite release time

The Deadpool & Wolverine x Fortnite collab will release on July 26 at 8 PM EDT (1 AM BST).

This pretty much coincides with the release of the movie so if you’ve had a chance to watch it already, we presume you’ll be extremely excited to run back to your console or PC and secure the skins, ready for some Victory Royales.

Deadpool & Wolverine x Fortnite skins

This new Deadpool & Wolverine Fortnite collab is something many have been looking forward to so they can don some virtual spandex and emulate some superhero moves.

Naturally, the meat of the collab skins are the suits for each character. Both are pretty great reimaginations of the traditional look and feel which most will enjoy.

Deadpool has an arrow through his head to differentiate this look compared to the previously released skin way back when, and is a nice little nod to the fact he can survive through pretty much anything.

The Emote, and Wraps for each are what you’d expect, with typical poses, and the Pickaxe is all about their weapons.

The Gliders are essentially just their heads on hot air balloons which is a little disappointing as the devs could have gotten a little wacky with it but still look cool all the same.

There will also be a themed guitar for each too, with the classic colors of each character featuring.

According to the leaks, Wolverine will also have a LEGO skin but Deadpool does not. Something to think about before purchasing if true.

Deadpool & Wolverine x Fortnite prices

Now you know what’s in store for you when you open up the Item Shop, what kinds of prices are you looking for each of the items.

Sadly, some of them are on the more expensive side, so you’re going to have to part with some serious V-Bucks if you want the whole set.

If you want the main skins, which include the suit, Pickaxe, Backbling, Emote, and Wrap for Deadpool or Wolverine, these will set you back 2,000 V-Bucks.

While there are a few items in this, it is a big chunk of currency that you might not want to spend.

The Deadpool & Wolverine Bundle will release in the Item Shop July 26th @ 8 PM ET.

Each Skin will cost 2,000 V-Bucks and feature a backbling, pickaxe, and wrap bundled with the skin.

If you are instead wanting to secure the whole thing, including both Deadpool and Wolverine, this will cost 3,500 V-Bucks, giving you a 500 V-Bucks discount, something that may entice you if you’re a big fan.

As for the Gliders, these are 800 V-Bucks each which again, is on the higher end, but still far less than the main sets.

And finally, the guitars. These will be priced at 1,000 V-Bucks which could be worth it to you if you like a good jam session.

As meme coins recover, many predictions are emerging about how high their prices could rise, similar to expert predictions for Shiba Inu.

Recently, some financial experts and crypto analysts projected that Shiba Inu could turn bullish and potentially experience a 100x surge in the coming months.

These predictions suggest that the meme coin might have a strong end to the year. In this article, we’ll explore SHIB from both fundamental and technical perspectives.

We’ll also introduce an exciting new multi-chain meme coin project called Base Dawgz that’s generating buzz in the crypto community.

SHIB price prediction

Shiba Inu has captured attention for its community-driven nature and significant price movements. Recently, financial experts predicted a potential 400% surge in SHIB’s value. Currently, SHIB has increased by 3% in the past 24 hours, reaching $0.00001678.

This rise is notable, especially since the broader cryptocurrency market experienced a 0.5% decline over the past 24 hours. Despite this, SHIB is down by 2.76% over the past week and has lost 4% in the past month, which might seem bearish at first glance.

However, the Relative Strength Index (RSI), a key technical indicator, suggests that SHIB is currently oversold. An oversold condition often precedes a price rebound, indicating that SHIB may be poised for an upward surge.

Additionally, SHIB’s 30-day moving average recently fell below its 200-day moving average, which is typically a bearish signal that could lead to a further decline before a more sustained recovery occurs.

Two key factors suggest SHIB might not decline further soon: strong trading volume of over $250 million shows continued interest, and Ethereum ETFs have boosted Ethereum-based projects like SHIB, increasing volume and visibility.

Turning to technical analysis, SHIB’s short-term outlook reveals a falling wedge pattern, typically a bullish indicator. This pattern suggests a potential breakout to the upside. If SHIB breaks out of this pattern, a price increase of around 5.66% could occur.

On a broader scale, the predicted 400% surge in SHIB’s value would bring it close to its all-time highs, offering a potential 5x return on investment from current levels.

The last significant price increase for SHIB occurred at the start of the previous bull market, where a substantial surge was followed by a period of consolidation. Should SHIB return to the market structure low from that period, it could present an attractive buying opportunity.

New multi-chain project poised to explode in 2024: Base Dawgz (DAWGZ)

Base Dawgz is making a big impact in crypto, raising $2.7 million with a presale price of $0.006725. The popular meme coin is on track to sell out its presale much earlier than expected.

Potential investors can visit our guide on how to buy Base Dawgz tokens here. If its launch aligns with the upcoming bull market, the token could see a significant surge.

$2.7 MILLION$DAWGZ just keeps pushing and we don’t let up 💪 pic.twitter.com/200LaSt3v0

— Base Dawgz (@BaseDawgz) July 26, 2024

Base Dawgz aims to be one of the best meme coins on the Base blockchain and plans to operate across multiple blockchains, including Ethereum, Solana, Binance Smart Chain, and Avalanche, using its “Wormhole and Portal Bridge” technology.

This multi-chain approach gives $DAWGZ holders access to more exchanges, better liquidity, and additional DeFi opportunities.

Staking is a popular method for earning passive income in the cryptocurrency world. Most cryptocurrencies offer staking, but $DAWGZ stands out with its high staking reward APYs. Presale investors can benefit from staking rewards of a remarkable 1131%.

Staking encourages investors to hold onto their tokens longer, which, in turn, increases their rewards and discourages early selling.

Base Dawgz also features multiple token utilities, including an appealing referral program. Members can earn points by sharing memes and posts about Base Dawgz on social media, which they can exchange for more $DAWGZ tokens.

This Refer-to-Earn strategy motivates the community to promote the coin, creating a cycle of growing interest. This approach has significantly boosted the presale’s growth. When someone buys $DAWGZ tokens using a referral link, the person who referred them gets 10% of the purchase amount in USDT.

This tactic has helped Base Dawgz attract thousands of followers on X (formerly Twitter) and achieve new presale milestones. With its growing social media presence and promising predictions, Base Dawgz is set for a major DEX launch and is catching the eye of both retail and expert investors.

To participate in the $DAWGZ token presale, visit basedawgz.com.

The cryptocurrency market is experiencing a resurgence, and amidst this positive trend, PlayDoge has emerged as a standout project.

Currently in its presale phase, PlayDoge has already amassed over $5.8 million in funding, solidifying its position as one of the most successful and rapidly growing presales in the market.

This achievement is particularly impressive given the prevailing investor uncertainty.

PlayDoge: Unveiling game appeal, key features, and investment insights

PlayDoge is a play-to-earn mobile game that brings the iconic dog meme to life as a Tamagotchi-style virtual pet.

Players can feed, entertain, train, and ensure their Doge gets enough sleep while engaging in classic side-scrolling adventures reminiscent of 90s nostalgia.

The game also includes retro-style arcade mini-games, similar to Space Invaders, where players can earn PlayDoge tokens. The potential for earning in PlayDoge is substantial, with millions of dollars set aside for community rewards.

The roadmap indicates that the PlayDoge app and mini-games will be released in the fourth phase, with further centralized exchange listings and community airdrops expected.

Investors interested in PlayDoge can easily purchase tokens by connecting their wallets. Using Wallet Connect, investors can scan a QR code to proceed with their purchase.

For instance, buying one Ethereum’s worth of PlayDoge will yield approximately 600,000 $PLAY tokens. Considering the current token price of $0.005, potential profits can be significant if the price reaches $0.01, $0.05, or even $0.10.

Larger purchases are also facilitated, with over 5 million $PLAY tokens costing 8.9 Ethereum. Tokens can be purchased using a card, Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, or USDT.

Notably, PlayDoge offers an 81% annualized rate of return for those willing to stake their tokens, providing an additional incentive for investors looking for long-term gains.

PlayDoge: Massive reward potential for early investors

PlayDoge’s tokenomics are meticulously designed to support its long-term growth and foster community involvement.

The allocation of tokens is as follows: 50% for the presale, 6.5% for community rewards, 11.5% for liquidity, 10% for marketing, 10% for project funds, and 12% for staking rewards.

This strategic distribution ensures a robust foundation for the project’s development while incentivizing active participation from the community.

If PlayDoge achieves a valuation of $100 million, the 6.5% allocated for community rewards would amount to $6.5 million. Should the valuation rise to $1 billion, the community rewards would increase to $65 million.

This significant potential for financial rewards presents a lucrative opportunity for players, making PlayDoge an attractive investment within the cryptocurrency market.

PlayDoge has successfully built a vibrant community with more than 6,000 followers on X (formerly Twitter) and 11,000 members on Telegram.

As part of its engagement strategy, PlayDoge is running a $150 USDT meme competition. To enter, participants need to follow the official PlayDoge Twitter account and follow the provided instructions.

The winner will be announced next Wednesday. This strong community development has taken place even during periods of extreme fear, as indicated by the Fear and Greed Index. With the index now rising to a level of 59, investor confidence is increasing steadily.

PlayDoge’s presale is well-positioned to capitalize on this renewed market optimism. To take part in the $PLAY token presale, visit playdoge.io.

Conclusion

A new era of meme coins is emerging, and PlayDoge stands out with its groundbreaking approach that transcends traditional concepts.

By introducing a Tamagotchi-style play-to-earn model featuring the iconic Doge meme as a 2D virtual pet, PlayDoge offers a fresh and engaging investment opportunity.

Currently in its presale phase, the project is generating significant excitement and anticipation for its potential growth upon market launch.

With its blend of nostalgic appeal and innovative mechanics, PlayDoge is poised to attract considerable interest from crypto enthusiasts and investors alike, marking a promising new chapter in the meme coin era.  For those seeking alternative investments, check out our 2024 guide to the best meme coins to buy.

If you lived through some of gaming’s halcyon golden days of the late 1990s and early 2000s – a simpler time when you didn’t need to connect your bank account to a game in order to play it properly, you were fortunate enough to play some absolute blinders. If you didn’t live through the period, you owe it to yourself to have a look.

While many games may have been designed as shorter, dip-in-and-out experiences there were also so many RPGS and adventure games that could still, back in the day consume 100s of hours of your time.

Until relatively recently the best way to experience all of these gaming treasures was to indulge in a bit of eBaying and buy yourself the original hardware and play it on that. This brought up issues in display compatibility and overall stability of aging hardware but it was still the best way to play them as there were too many compromises playing emulated versions.

SSX Tricky sporting a 4K texture replacement pack.

Then, the world got in on the craze, and greedy money-grabbers started jacking up the prices of original hardware and games and fleecing those who were truly interested. You could be paying a couple of hundred dollars for an old console that was listed as “for parts or not working”, depending on what machine you wanted.

Getting hold of certain games was a nightmare as well. Any degree of rarity saw the starting price move to ridiculous levels. For many people, emulation became the only way to experience these great games.

But what if, as time has passed using emulation is now the defacto best way to play old games on certain hardware because your PC can now improve them in ways that were never envisaged by the original programmers? Do we still need to line the pockets of eBay scalpers? Do we f.., er no.

Our story about how PlayStation 2 emulation is now so good you don’t need the original hardware went viral and helped show many people that the games they played as kids could now be played on a PC, made to look 10 times better with the help of texture packs, and, most importantly, it was easy to do.

There remains that grey area about emulating older games. As much as nobody makes money off them anymore and as easy as it is to find somewhere to download a ROM of the game you are looking for, ethically and legally, you do need to own a copy of the original game.

Much fun can be had revisiting your old games – far more I would argue than downloading the entire console’s library on a torrent and ending up with 900 games you aren’t interested in.

Looking good

The last 20% of the screen on the right shows the upscale difference

One of the first things you should do if you want to emulate games from the PS2/Dreamcast era is look into upscaled texture packs.

Modders are, as we speak, upscaling textures to 4K and beyond and replacing them in your favorite games – we looked at this with SSX Tricky on the PS2. What used to be a tedious job performed by people with hardcore Photoshop knowledge is now being taken on by more and more people. Now you do not need to be a graphic artist to contribute as they are using AI to help them quickly and efficiently upscale the textures.

While many of us can do those using an Upscaling program such as Topaz Gigapixel some modders are now training their own AI image tools and letting them run wild and the results are jaw-droppingly good – on a par with graphics we see in modern games, but with the gameplay and replayability of the golden era.

Sure Sega is looking at rebooting Crazy Taxi as a live-service game that will have monetization in it, but if you can get the OG Crazy Tazi looking like it was released yesterday, why bother?

Downloading some of these texture packs for emulation can take a couple of GB on your hard drive – when you think that most of the games came on a DVD or even a CD originally that is a bit crazy. Check out the above Crazy Taxi remake for the difference it can make to a game however.

Things such as widescreen hacks help take up all that new display real estate we have these days. Controller support is spot on (unless we are talking N64 as that is a controller difficult to replicate)

Playing PS2 games in PCSX2 or Dreamcast games in Flycast with texture packs that have been lovingly crafted (okay, in AI but you know what I mean) not only brings back the memories of the games you used to love but elevates them to such a level it kind of makes many modern games, well, a bit pointless, and highlights them as the consumer-milking gold-mines that they are.

While games publishers do everything they can to keep control of new games so they can just delete them from existence whenever they like, the emulation and modding communities continue to show what is possible when you let the people the games were originally designed for – the gamers themselves – look after the heritage.

The post What is a Straight in Poker? – Poker Players Guide to the Straight Hand in Poker appeared first on ReadWrite.

A straight poker hand is one of the more common sights in poker, with odds of 253.8/1 against this hand being dealt. However, it’s also the sixth-ranked poker hand and one that’s regularly beaten.

But what hand can a poker straight beat? We’ll explore this below, while asking what strategies you can deploy when playing this hand from different positions!

What Does a Straight Look Like in Poker?

In simple terms, a straight in poker features five cards of any suit in sequential order. As we’ve touched on, this is the sixth highest hand in poker. Interestingly, there are only 10 possible straight poker hands in a standard 52-card deck.

What are the Odds and Probability of Hitting Straight Poker Hands?

There are odds against each poker hand being drawn, which imply the probability of such outcomes occurring. With a poker straight hand, its odds of 253.8/1 imply a 0.3925% probability of it being drawn during a game.

Where Does a Straight Rank in the Poker Hand Ratings Chart?

If you want to know what beats a straight in poker, you’ll need to understand where it stands in the overall hierarchy. A straight poker hand ranks sixth in the poker hand ranking chart, behind a Royal Flush, Straight Flush, Four-of-a-Kind, Full House and Flush. This ranking is out of 10 hands in Texas Hold’em and Omaha poker variants.

What Does a Straight Beat in Poker?

Now you know what beats a straight in poker, it’s important to analyze which hands a straight can overcome. Remember, a straight hand ranks just below the middle of the poker hand rankings when playing Texas Hold’em and Omaha iterations. However, a straight in poker beats the following hands:

Straight beats a Royal Flush

Straight beats a Straight Flush

Straight beats Four Of A Kind

Straight beats a Full House

Straight beats a Flush

Straight beats Three Of A Kind
✔️

Straight beats Two Pairs
✔️

Straight beats One Pair
✔️

Straight beats a High Card
✔️

Does a Poker Straight Beat A Royal Flush?

Remember, a straight poker hand carries odds of 253.8/1 and has an implied probability of 0.3925%. However, the Royal Flush is the game’s best hand and vanishingly rare. In fact, there are odds of 649,739/1 against this being drawn, so there’s just a 0.000154% of this being drawn during a game.

Does a Straight Beat a Straight Flush?

A straight flush is similar to a straight hand, but it features sequential cards of the same suit. This hand beats a straight but is also much rarer, as there are odds of 72,192.33/1 against this being drawn. These odds imply just a 0.00139% probability of this outcome occurring.

Does a Straight Beat Four Of A Kind?

A “Four-of-a-Kind” also beats a straight in poker, while the odds of this being drawn are considerably higher at 4,164/1. Ultimately, these odds imply a 0.02401% probability of you hitting this hand during a game, so you’re much more likely to be dealt a straight.

Does a Straight Beat a Full House?

No, a straight doesn’t beat a full house either. This hand combines three-of-a-kind with a pair of any suit, while the odds against this hand being drawn are 693.1667/1. This implies a 0.1441% probability of you being dealt the necessary cards to construct this hand.

Does a Straight Beat a Flush?

A flush comprises five non-sequential cards of the same suit, and is the fifth-ranked poker hand. This is one place higher than a straight poker hand, while the odds against it being drawn are 507.8019/1. This implies a probability of 0.1965%. There are 1,227 potential flush combinations in a standard 52-card deck.

What Poker Hands Does Straight Beat?

These five poker hands all beat a straight poker hand. However, there are four remaining hands that a straight can overcome: namely three-of-a-kind, two pairs, one pair and the highest card. Let’s take a closer look at these hands:

Three Of A Kind – As the name suggests, three-of-a-kind features three numerically identical cards of different suits. There are 858 potential combinations of this hand, which carries odds of 46.32955/1 and an implied probability value of 2.1128%.
Two Pairs – Interestingly, there are also 858 distinct two-pair hands in poker. However, this hand is twice as common as three-of-a-kind, with odds of 20.03535/1 against this hand being drawn. This implies a 4.7539% probability of this particular outcome occurring.
One Pair – Landing a straight in poker cards can unlock 2,860 potential variations. As this hand features just one matching numerical pair, there are odds of just 1.366477/1 against it being drawn. The implied probability value here is also considerably higher at 49.9%.
High Card – Every poker hand will feature a high card, which simply describes the highest value card drawn. There are 1,277 distinct hands in play here, while the odds against this outcome are 0.9953015/1. In theory, the cumulative probability of this hand being drawn is 100%.

Who Wins if Both Players Have a Straight?

One of the most commonly asked questions in poker is “does a higher straight beat a lower straight”? The answer is that it does, as ties of this type in any game are determined by which straight features the highest value card.

So, a King high straight defeats a Jack high straight, while a Jack high straight would defeat a hand with a highest value card of 10. When playing a hand of this type, it’s crucial that you understand which straight is higher in poker and how this may affect your chances of winning in real-time.

What Are The Odds Of Hitting a Straight With Connected Cards?

The odds of 253.8/1 imply a 0.3925% probability of a straight poker hand being drawn. However, not only do different straight poker rules have a direct impact on odds, but the probability of this hand being drawn can change markedly after every round of betting. Here’s our analysis of how odds can change during the course of a game.

What Strategies Can You Use When Playing a Straight Poker Hand?

As you can see in our comprehensive poker position guide, there are different strategic locations on the table. These will impact how you play most hands, as you’ll need to strategize if you’re to fully optimize your chances of winning.

How to Play a Straight from the dealer position: The dealer position is the best place from which to play any poker hand. This affords you time to observe the actions and decisions of all competitive players, while it optimizes your chances of winning even with a middle ranking hand such as a poker straight. As long as there’s an Ace of any card of the same suit available, you can raise with confidence and continue to compete for the pot.

How to Play a Straight from the Small Blind position: When you play the straight hand in poker, the small blind is also a relatively favorable position. This position plays straight after the button (or dealer) and affords you the advantage of seeing what most other players do before acting. However, you also have to move immediately after the flop, while you’ll have to commit chips before seeing your hole cards. This should encourage a more conservative approach in line with your starting bankroll.

How to Play a Straight from the The Cut Off Position: The cut-off seat sits immediately to the right of the dealer, and players in this space are able to garner some crucial information from previous players. This can inform your decisions and allow for more cards to be played, including tactical pairs and pocket pairs. This affords you a significant advantage when playing for or against a straight hand, as you can garner the strength of your opponents and potentially minimize losses over time.

Google DeepMind has taken a big step toward bringing artificial intelligence (AI) in line with human capability to solve complicated mathematics.

Researchers paired two new systems, known as AlphaProof and AlphaGeometry 2, tasking them with questions from the International Mathematical Olympiad. The global maths contest for advanced high school students has been running since 1959, comprised of six extremely difficult questions each year. Topics include algebra and geometry, with a gold medal putting the winners on a pedestal with the best and brightest young mathematicians in the world.

While the results from the AI systems were impressive, they weren’t quite at the standard of the most intelligent humans at this level, not yet anyway. The Google DeepMind ‘team’ racked up a score of 28 out of 42 points available, one short of the number required for a gold rating and having to settle for silver.

Understandably, and unlike human performance, the answers submitted by DeepMind’s AlphaProof and AlphaGeometry 2 were either perfect or pitiful. The AI solved four questions with precision, taking top marks, but in the other two, there was nothing. The technology could not even begin to work out the answer.

Building a bridge between spheres

Another key point to note is that the DeepMind experiment effectively had no time limits. Some questions were answered in seconds while others took three days, round the clock. Conversely, human competitors in the Olympiad have a maximum of nine hours to complete the test.

The two AI systems paired by researchers are said to be very different. AlphaProof, which answered three of the questions, works by pairing a large language model (as used in chatbots) with a specialist “reinforcement learning” technique. AlphaGeometry pairs an LLM with a focused, mathematically inclined approach.

Thomas Hubert, lead researcher on AlphaProof stated, “What we try to do is to build a bridge between these two spheres so that we can take advantage of the guarantees that come with formal mathematics and the data that is available in informal mathematics.”
