Chris Pine speaks with the dead in ‘Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves’ clip
Following an action-packed trailer, a new Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves clip uses a spell directly from the tabletop role-playing game.
The sneak peek released by Paramount Pictures features a scene including the game’s Speak With Dead spell, which allows the caster to perform necromancy to raise a corpse for questioning. Once reanimated, you can ask the corpse up to five questions — and as Edgin, a bard played by Chris Pine, finds out, it’s quite easy to fuck up.
Despite the simple instructions from Simon, a sorcerer played by Justice Smith, Edgin does not do a good job interrogating the dead. Simon is flanked by his fellow adventurers Holga, a barbarian played by Michelle Rodriguez, and Doric, a druid played by Sophia Lillis.
Beyond this scene you’ll spy Regé-Jean Page as paladin Xenk and Hugh Grant as the villainous Forge.
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves hits cinemas March 31.
