The Beats Fit Pro earbuds in new yellow and coral colors are already $30 off

Brightly colored earbuds in your ears may do a good job of subtly telling others not to bother you. | Image: Beats

The colorful new variants of the Beats Fit Pro wireless earbuds just came out yesterday, and today, the yellow and pink models are already on sale. You can pick up a pair of “volt yellow” or “coral pink” Beats for $169.83 at Amazon, $30.12 off their regular $199.95 price. New products and colorways usually take a little longer than one day before they start seeing some discounts, but if you dig a tennis ball-like color for your electronics (the electric volt Xbox controller says hi!), then you’ve got yourself a nice deal here on something new and fresh.
Not only are the Beats Fit Pro now brighter than ever but they’re also one of our favorite pairs of Bluetooth earbuds — especially for running and fitness. They sadly lack the convenience of wireless charging in their slightly oversize USB-C charging case, but that’s made up for with excellent sound, great noise cancellation, Find My integration with Apple devices, and an impeccably secure fit in your ears. If you’re looking for a capable slate but don’t want to pony up for Apple’s latest tablet, the entry-level iPad is currently on sale at Amazon and Walmart in the 64GB configuration with Wi-Fi for $269 ($60 off). That’s not the lowest price we’ve seen on the 10.2-inch tablet given it’s been known to fall to $250 or so, but it’s still nearly $130 cheaper than the current sale price of Apple’s 10th-gen model.
In many ways, the last-gen iPad is a bit dated. It’s outfitted with bigger bezels, a borderline-archaic home button, and a Lightning port, making it the lone USB-C holdout in Apple’s current tablet lineup. That said, it should be able to accomplish pretty much anything the newest model can do thanks to its A13 Bionic chip and compatibility with iPadOS 16. Plus, it’s got a 3.5mm audio jack, making it a shoo-in for kids or anyone who wants to stick with a pair of trusty wired headphones over the many, many wireless models out there (no judgment here).

Like other Yeedi models, the Vac 2 Pro is a robovac built specifically with budget in mind.

Robot vacuums can get expensive fast, especially when you begin to factor in auto-empty docks, lidar mapping, and various mopping capabilities. However, there are budget-minded options like the Yeedi Vac 2 Pro, which is currently on sale at Amazon via Woot for an all-time low of $259.99 ($190 off).
Yeedi isn’t a household name like Roborock or iRobot, but there’s a lot to be said for an affordable robovac that ticks all the right boxes and comes with a few high-end features. The Vac 2 Pro packs an impressive 3,000Pa of suction power and an oscillating mop that’s terrific at scrubbing floors, along with support for voice commands via Amazon Alex and Google Assistant. It can falter when it comes to mapping — it uses a top-mounted camera over more advanced lidar-based SLAM mapping — but it’s fairly intuitive at navigating around objects, making it a good bet if you’re someone who is less than tidy and can do without an auto-empty dock. Sony’s SRS-XB43 Bluetooth speaker remains one of the best portable speakers you can buy, especially if you’re hosting an outside shindig. If you prefer something more compact, however, its smaller brethren, the SRS-XB33, is currently on sale for just $89 (half off) at Walmart and Costco (for members).
The now-discontinued rugged speaker offers beat-centric LED lighting and the same all-day battery life as the XB43 as well as a hefty amount of bass for its size and an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance. It also comes in a range of fun colors (including black, blue, red, and tan) and touts a USB-A port for charging various gadgets, meaning you can just toss it in a backpack and ditch your power bank at home.

A smattering of other discounts

If you’re someone who isn’t in a particular rush, Anker’s 313 Wireless Charger is on sale for $15.99 ($4 off) at Amazon and direct from Anker. The reliable Qi-equipped stand is great for viewing notifications at a glance and topping off your phone overnight, even if it doesn’t provide the fastest charging speeds.
The compact Eero Pro 6 is available in a two-pack on Amazon right now for $239.99, which is the lowest price we’ve seen on the mesh networking bundle. Each tri-band Wi-Fi router can accommodate near-gigabit speeds and provide up to 2,000 square feet of coverage, making them a good pick for those looking for a more stable internet connection. Spring is just around the corner, and if you’ve been itching to get back on the bike, Rad Power Bikes — the largest seller of e-bikes in the US — is offering $150 off a selection of models through Sunday, February 26th. We’d be remiss to not mention the company’s recent recall efforts, but we’ve generally liked the company’s latest e-bikes — including the RadCity 5 Plus and its new electric three-wheeler, the RadTrike.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus launched just over a week ago, but the unlocked flagship device is already on sale at Amazon for $859.99 ($140 off) in the 256GB phantom black configuration. We consider it to be the best Android phone for most people thanks to its lovely 6.6-inch display and overall sterling performance. Read our review.

Amazon’s 55-inch Fire TV Omni is on sale right now for Amazon Prime members for $399.99 ($160 off). The Amazon-branded 4K TV doesn’t exactly excel when it comes to picture quality, but it features low input lag as well as support for AirPlay 2 and hands-free Alexa commands (even when the TV is off). Read our review.
While not a deal per se, the new DualSense Edge is now available at Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy for around $199. The pro-grade controller, which touts back paddles and several other customizable features, was previously only available direct from Sony. Read our review.

Update February 24th, 11:22AM ET: This post has been updated to reflect the matching deal on the coral pink Beats Fit Pro.

After Vulcan comes online, ULA plans to dramatically increase launch cadence

A Vulcan flying on May the 4th is the crossover we all needed.

The chief executive of United Launch Alliance said Thursday evening that his company now plans to fly its Vulcan rocket for the first time this May. While acknowledging that additional delays are always possible, Tory Bruno even put a date on the launch attempt—May 4.

In a wide-ranging teleconference with reporters, Bruno discussed the development of the next-generation Vulcan rocket, his plans for this year, and the future of his company.

Bruno said the rocket’s current “pacing item” for the debut launch is some final work qualifying the BE-4 rocket engines for flight. Blue Origin delivered two flight engines to ULA last fall, however, each of these machines had only undergone a fairly brief round of tests, known as acceptance testing. After this, two virtually identical BE-4 engines were sent from Blue Origin’s factory in Washington to Texas. These “qual” engines have been undergoing a much more rigorous series of tests known as qualification testing.

Rebuy is out to change the customer buying experience, one personalization at a time

Merchants can use Rebuy to create personalized shopping experiences for their customers through upsells, cross-sells and post-purchase follow-ups.
Rebuy is out to change the customer buying experience, one personalization at a time by Christine Hall originally published on TechCrunch

The number of Shopify live websites grew a whopping 201% between March 2020 and January 2022 with the shift to e-commerce during the global pandemic. With all of those stores going after customers it’s difficult for individual merchants to cut through the clutter.

That problem has given rise to startups eager to offer their no-code or low-code technology to help Shopify merchants build their businesses. For example, we saw Replo for landing pages, Triple Whale for shopper data, Postscript for personalized texting, Shop Circle to find the best apps to get a Shopify business going and Popup for online storefronts. In addition, all of those companies raised venture capital the past year for those respective tools.

Minneapolis-based Rebuy is the latest commerce tech startup to attract new funding, in its case a $17 million Series A, to advance its premier personalization platform for online retailers.

The round was led by M13, with Dynamism Capital, R-Squared Ventures and existing investors Peterson Ventures and Sidekick Partners joining in. Ben Jabbawy of Privy and Nik Sharma also came on as strategic investors. This follows a $4.4 million seed round in 2021, led by Peterson Ventures.

Rebuy, founded in 2017 by brothers John Erck and James Van Erck, has an end-to-end SaaS offering for e-commerce — Shopify merchants in particular — that combines artificial intelligence with no-code or low-code technology.

Merchants can then create personalized shopping experiences for their customers through upsells, cross-sells and post-purchase follow-ups. For example, to help notify customers that they get free shipping when they spend $100 or more, how to provide gifts with purchase or understand that to convert a user requires helping them discover the right product.

It also provides data and AI intelligence to recommend ways to increase the average order value, improve the shopping cart and checkout processes, or help customers take a page from Amazon by recommending complementary products.

James Van Erck told TechCrunch that there’s been a shift in how direct-to-consumer brands conduct themselves and how to expand their businesses.

“With the iOS changes, it’s been harder and harder to track customers,” he said. “A year or two ago, brands were very focused on acquiring new customers. Now there’s been this shift around focusing more on your existing customers and helping to give them a much better experience. That’s what Rebuy is out to do: help create these intelligent shopping experiences.”

That shift to existing customers validated what Rebuy had been working on over the past six years: generating smart product recommendations, John Erck said. He added that the company’s technology is currently running on close to 7,000 online stores, including 10% of all Shopify Plus merchants.

In the past 12 months, the company tripled its revenue, released 218 new products or feature enhancements and launched integrations with e-commerce solutions, including Klaviyo and Attentive. Erck also said Rebuy was “well into the eight-figure annual recurring revenue stage.” In addition, the company more than doubled its customer count over the last year and currently serves more than 4 billion web requests per month, over 1 billion of which are behavioral analytics streaming into its AI engine.

The company intends to deploy the new funds into technology development, investing in the Shopify ecosystem and additional hiring to complement its 70-employee workforce. One of the new hires is Jason Nelson, senior vice president of revenue. It is also interested in pursuing a multi-platform future so that any brand can use Rebuy independent of what platform they choose to run on.

Additional investment will also go into new products, including Rebuy Search, Rebuy Intelligence Graph and Visual Editor. One of the first coming out is Rebuy Search, which Erck described as “the one piece that can have an outsized influence on us upselling, cross-selling or recommending the right products,” which is better understanding of what individual users are looking for and searching for.

“Adding search allows us to enrich not just one additional touchpoint, but by using what they search for to influence our personalization,” he said. “By bringing this one new product to market we can actually enrich the quality of the recommendations from the homepage all the way through to the ‘thank you’ page.”

Commenting on the investment, M13 principal Brent Murri told TechCrunch that John Erck and James Van Erck are “not tourist technologists that developed a product and started selling it to busy merchants,” but that this is a product that “was being demanded by their previous customers.”

“It’s harder to get customers on the site and it’s more expensive,” Murri said. “You need to maximize every encounter you have with them, and those commerce tools that do that are becoming mission critical. They can make the difference between losing money on your first purchase and making money on your first purchase. That is one of the keys unlocked by Rebuy.”

Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 5 hits a new low of $220, plus the rest of the week’s best tech deals

It’s a bit of a slow week for tech deals, but we’ve still found a handful of good prices on gadgets and gear we like. For instance, Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 5, our preferred smartwatch for Android users, is down to a new low of $220, while Apple’s iPad Air is $99 off its MSRP at $500. Sony is running a sale on PS5 and PS4 exclusive games, and a handful of recommended SSDs and microSD cards are down to their best prices to date. Here are the best tech deals from this week that you can still get today.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 5

The 40mm version of Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 5 is on sale for $220, which is only about $10 to $15 less than its typical street price in recent months but still represents an all-time low. We gave the Galaxy Watch 5 a review score of 85 last year, and it’s currently the “best for Android users” pick in our guide to the best smartwatches. Its battery life could be better, but we dig its durable, minimalist design, crisp display and capable health tracking. Samsung’s One UI interface is easy enough to navigate as well, and the company says it’ll support the watch with software updates through 2026.
PlayStation 5 first-party game sale

Sony has kicked off a sale on several of its own PS5 and PS4 games. The discounts are available at multiple retailers, including Amazon, Walmart, GameStop, Best Buy and Sony’s PlayStation Direct shop. Among the highlights, the racing sim Gran Turismo 7 is down to $40, which is $5 above its all-time low but still a $30 discount for those looking to try out its new AI opponents or VR support. (The PS4 version is down to $30.) The PS5 remake of The Last of Us is $20 off for those enjoying its TV adaptation, while both the original PS4 remaster and the brutal sequel are available for $10.
Beyond that, the lush open-world game Horizon Forbidden West is down to a low of $40 (or $30 for the PS4 copy, which includes a free PS5 upgrade). The friendly action game Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, the haunting roguelike Returnal and the remade PS3 classic Demon’s Souls are each $30; Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and the remastered dual pack Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection are down to $20; and both God of War and the idiosyncratic Death Stranding are available for $10. There are more deals apart from those, but either way Sony says this sale will run through March 5.
Anker 715 Charger

Anker’s 715 Charger is a 65W USB-C charger with a highly compact design that should be suitable for travel. It only has one port, but it has enough power to charge most phones, tablets and even some laptops at their maximum rate. The device is back down to $35 at Amazon, which is a price we’ve seen a few times before but still comes in $15 below the charger’s typical going rate. This deal is also available at Anker’s online store, but you’ll need to use the code WS7DOOUANO at checkout there.
Samsung Evo Select microSD card

Samsung’s Evo Select is a U3-, V30-rated microSD card that should be more than fast enough for 4K video on a GoPro or game storage on a Nintendo Switch or Steam Deck. It’s also backed by a 10-year limited warranty. The 128GB and 512GB versions of the card are still available for $13.49 and $45, respectively, both of which match the lowest prices we’ve tracked.
Samsung 980 Pro SSD

In other Samsung storage deals, the 1TB version of company’s 980 Pro SSD is available for an all-time low of $100. That’s about $20 below the drive’s average going rate in recent months. If you need more space, the 2TB model is also on sale for a low of $160. Not everyone needs to pay up for a high-performing NVMe 4.0 drive like this, but for higher-performing builds or expanding the storage of a PlayStation 5, it’ll work well. If you do buy for a PS5, just make sure you pair the drive with a heatsink first. (You can also buy a version of this SSD with an integrated heatsink for $10 to $20 more, depending on how much capacity you need.) You’ll also want to make sure the SSD’s firmware is up-to-date: Various users have reported higher-than-usual failure rates with specific Samsung drives, including the 2TB 980 Pro here, but the company looks to have fixed the issue with a recent update.
Crucial MX500 SSD (1TB)

You wouldn’t buy a 2.5-inch SATA SSD like the Crucial MX500 for fast storage performance on a new PC, but if you’re looking to upgrade an older computer that came with a slower HDD installed by default, it can still provide a noticeable boost. The MX500 itself is the top SATA pick in our guide to the best SSDs, and right now its 1TB model is on sale for an all-time low of $52. Typically, the drive retails closer to $65. If you need more space, the 2TB model is down to $120, while the 4TB model is available for $240. Those prices are $8 and $2 off the two models’ respective all-time lows.
Apple iPad Air

Apple’s iPad Air is back down to $500 at Amazon, which is $20 more than its all-time low but still roughly $30 below its typical street price and $100 below Apple’s MSRP. You should see the full discount at checkout. We gave this 10.9-inch tablet a review score of 90 last year, and we generally consider it the best iPad for most people. While it lacks the 120Hz refresh rate or top-end M2 chip of the iPad Pro, it still gets you a modern design, more than enough power, the usual 10-ish hours of battery life and support for Apple’s best accessories, all at a more affordable price.
Bose Portable Smart Speaker

We highlight the aptly named Bose Portable Smart Speaker in our guide to the best portable Bluetooth speakers, and right now the device is down to $319. That’s $20 more than its all-time low but still about $45 below its typical street price and $80 below Bose’s MSRP. While there are certainly cheaper options out there, this wireless speaker still gets you a travel-friendly, IPX4-rated design (complete with a built-in carrying handle), impressive bass for its size, AirPlay 2 functionality and support for both Alexa and the Google Assistant. Think of it like a smaller rival to the Sonos Move. Bose rates the speaker’s battery life at up to 12 hours, too, though that will be lower if you regularly stream over WiFi.
Beats Fit Pro

Beats rolled out a handful of new finishes for its workout-friendly Fit Pro earphones this week, and a couple of them — the “coral pink” and “volt yellow” colorways — are already on sale for $170. That’s $30 off Beats’ MSRP. We’ve seen prior versions of the Fit Pro drop as low as $145, so this deal isn’t an all-time low, but if you like the look of these colors specifically, you can save a few bucks all the same. The Fit Pro themselves are the “best for workouts” pick in our best wireless earbuds guide and earned a review score of 87 back in late 2021. While their active noise cancellation can’t match what you’d get from Apple’s AirPods Pro, they pack many of that pair’s conveniences in a sportier design.

7 new movies and TV shows on Netflix, Prime Video, Disney Plus and more this weekend (February 24)

From new TV thrillers to returning fan favorites, here are the best films and TV series to stream this weekend.

The final weekend of February 2023 is upon us – and there’s a veritable bounty of new movies and TV shows to subsequently check out.

As is customary around these parts, we’ve rounded up seven of the most intriguing and (potentially) entertaining series and films for the weekend. Unsurprisingly, Netflix dominates this week’s list, but there are entries from Prime Video, Disney Plus, and Apple TV Plus, too. There’s even one from Peacock – we know, we surprised ourselves with that one.

Here, then, are the TV shows and movies you have to stream over the next few days.

Outer Banks season 3 (Netflix)

Outer Banks is one of those Netflix shows that just grabbed viewers’ attentions when it debuted in April 2020 – and it’s refused to let go ever since. Fans of the teen mystery drama series will be delighted to hear, then, that it’s back for its long-awaited third season.

This time, the Pogues find themselves cut adrift from the titular coastal town, washing up on a new island where different treasures are waiting to be found. With various foes still on their trail, though, and tensions fraying among the group, Outer Banks season 3 promises to deliver more thrilling spectacles and drama-laced moments for its millions-strong fanbase. Don’t be surprised to see it sneak onto our best Netflix shows list very soon.

Now available to stream in full worldwide on Netflix.

The Consultant (Prime Video)

Office-based thrillers and dark comedies are becoming an increasingly fascinating fixture of the streaming landscape, with the likes of Severance and Mythic Quest enthralling viewers in recent times.

Prime Video’s The Consultant looks to add its name to that list. The twisted workplace comedy-thriller stars Christoph Waltz as Mr. Patoff, a mysterious and eccentric consultant (surprise surprise) seemingly come to the rescue of CompWare, an app-based company, when a merger with another organization falls through. It isn’t long before Patoff stamps his authority on CompWare’s employees, who find themselves forced to carry out new demands that challenge them personally and professionally. One to add to our best Prime Video shows guide? You bet.

Now available to stream in full worldwide on Prime Video.

Bel-Air season 2 (Peacock)

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air‘s drama-fuelled 21st century reboot is back for its second season on Peacock this weekend.

Following the dramatic conclusion of its first season, Bel-Air‘s next installment finds Will attempting to navigate all aspects of his life, all the while being challenged when new characters enter the picture and start trying to influence the young man he needs to be. Interestingly, Tatyana Ali – who portrayed Ashley in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air – is set to make recurring guest appearances in Bel-Air season 2. Fans of the original might want to check this one out to see how she factors into the equation.

Bel-Air season 2’s first three episodes are available to stream now on Peacock in the US, with new episodes dropping every Thursday. UK viewers can watch the series via Sky and Now TV.

Die Hart (Prime Video)

After the success Nicolas Cage had with meta-comedy movie The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, it’s Kevin Hart’s turn to play a fictionalized version of himself in a movie.

That’s the basic premise of Die Hart, which sees Hart portray himself as he attempts a career pivot from comedy wingman to the world’s greatest action star. John Travolta, Nathalie Emmanuel, Josh Hartnett, and Jean Renno are among the film’s supporting cast.

If Die Hart‘s title rings a bell, it’s because it was originally a 10-episode Quibi TV show. With the demise of that streaming service, Amazon has repurposed Die Hart for its Prime Video audience, turning the TV show into a feature-length film. We’re not sure why either, but we’ll be adding Die Hart to our new Prime Video movies list shortly. Don’t expect it to squeeze its way into our best Prime Video movies article, though.

Now available to watch worldwide on Prime Video.

Liaison (Apple TV Plus)

Apple TV Plus is finally being recognized as a big player on the streaming stage. And, like its contemporaries, it’s translating that success by branching out and greenlighting more foreign language productions.

The latest of those projects is Liaison, a six-episode French-English original series starring Eva Green and Vincent Cassel among other notable names. It’s described as a high-stakes, contemporary spy thriller that explores “how the mistakes of our past have the potential to destroy our future, combining action with an unpredictable, multi-layered plot where espionage and political intrigue play out against a story of passionate and enduring love”.

Could it make it onto our best Apple TV Plus shows? It’s certainly possible, but we’ll have to see what all six episodes are like first before we can pass judgment.

Liaison’s first episode is available now on Apple TV Plus, with new episodes debuting on the streamer every Friday.

Fleishman is in Trouble (Disney Plus)

After making its debut on Hulu in the US last November, Fleishman is in Trouble has finally come to Disney Plus in international territories.

The drama miniseries stars Jesse Eisenberg as Toby Fleishman, a 41-year-old recent divorcee who has found dating success among the world’s many, well, dating apps. However, when his ex-wife Rachel (Claire Danes) goes missing, Toby is left with his children Hannah and Solly, potentially scuppering his chances of sexual freedom and a promotion at work.

Fleishman is in Trouble was positively received upon its initial release in late 2022, so audiences based outside of the US should find plenty to enjoy about this one. Look out for it on our best Disney Plus shows list soon.

All eight episodes are available to stream on Disney Plus in the UK and overseas, as well as on Hulu in the US.

We Have a Ghost (Netflix)

It wouldn’t be a weekly TechRadar streaming list without a new Netflix movie to watch, would it?

This week’s entry is We Have a Ghost, a family comedy-horror based on a Geoff Manaugh short story called Ernest. When Kevin (Marvel star Anthony Mackie) and his family discover their new home is haunted by a ghost named Ernest (Stranger Things‘ David Harbour), they set up a YouTube channel and turn themselves and Ernest into overnight stars. However, when Kevin and Ernest start to unearth the truth behind the latter’s death, they find themselves pursued by the CIA. Yeah, we have no idea why, either.

A potential entry in our best Netflix movies list, for sure, so we’re hoping it won’t fall foul of other Netflix original films that haven’t resonated with audiences.

Available to watch now worldwide on Netflix.

Hello and welcome back to Equity, a podcast about the business of startups, where we unpack the numbers and nuance behind the headlines.

This week Natasha Mascarenhas, Mary Ann Azevedo and Rebecca Szkutak were joined by the returning Alex Wilhelm, back from paternity leave. Yes, we had the whole gang back together today to dig through the week’s pile of news — and you can definitely tell how exciting it was by how fast we all talked through the news (sorry to our dear producers!).

Now, the news. Here’s what we got into:

Amazon has invested heavily in an Indian meat delivery company. No, not lab-grown meat or plant-based meat. Just meat, delivered. Also in our Deals of the Week category was news form a former WeWork denizen that wants to help you plan a tiny home, and notes on how Klarna has wound up finding a huge market in the United States.

Then it was time to talk money. Reddit could go public later this year, though we have heard that story before; Lime is apparently standing on its own two wheels and could pursue an IPO at some point; and Coinbase is at once doing poorly and better than expected.
Then we chatted how layoffs could lead to a founder boom, and the results of one venture group’s effort to fund recently separated tech denizens.

And to close, we took a look at Becca’s piece on the importance of early founder and venture accountability.

A big thanks to Becca for spending so much time with the Equity crew over the last few months while also hosting Found. We are back Monday with Alex! Chat soon!

New Beats Fit Pro colors are already $30 off

Don’t think you have to pay full price to get the Beats Fit Pro in new colors. Amazon is already selling the true wireless earbuds in Coral Pink and Volt Yellow for $170, or $30 off. The discount doesn’t apply to Tidal Blue, alas, but this still means you can get vibrant hues for less than you’d pay for ‘safer’ options.

The new Beats Fit Pro variants are functionally identical to the originals, but that’s not a bad thing — they’re still our favorite wireless earbuds for workouts. The comfy, stable fit and sweat resistance make them well-suited to the gym. Solid active noise cancellation (ANC) helps you tune out the rest of the world. And importantly, their sound quality is better than you might expect. You’ll get Beats’ signature bass, but it’s balanced and doesn’t overpower higher-frequency elements, Toss in six hours of listening per charge with ANC enabled and these are buds you can use throughout the day.
You may still want to consider other earbuds, such as the AirPods Pro if you find them on sale. There’s no wireless charging on the Beats Fit Pro, and the ANC is stronger on Apple’s higher-end models. And while Beats’ Android support is robust, you may want to look at options like the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro or Pixel Buds Pro if you want something particularly Android-friendly. If those aren’t obstacles, though, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better value.
