PlayStation State of Play September 2024: all the biggest news and announcements

Expect a lot of remasters, some PC port news, Astro Bot DLC news, and more. Days before PS5 Pro preorders are set to go live, Sony has announced a new State of Play event. The presentation, which starts today at 6PM ET and will reportedly last 30 minutes, will feature “more than 20 upcoming PS5 and PS VR2 games from studios around the world.”
Considering the PS5 Pro announcement last week contained no new games to show off the new hardware, expect this presentation to be stuffed with games trying to entice you into breaking open your wallet. Astro Bot DLC news is likely, as well as confirmation of the rumored Horizon Zero Dawn remaster. Speaking of Horizon, Sony will also likely share Lego Horizon Adventures’ holiday release date.
Hours before today’s event was scheduled to begin, news that Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 and 2 are getting remastered leaked via the PlayStation Network, so that’s also likely.
