Following United States former president Donald Trump’s conviction on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records, political memecoins associated with him experienced significant volatility.
On May 30, the Manhattan jury found Trump guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records. The records in question pertained to his lawyer Michael Cohen paying an adult actress $130,000 before the 2016 presidential election.
Trump’s sentencing is scheduled for July, and he could face up to four years in prison. This trial marks the first time a former U.S. president has been tried and convicted on criminal charges.
As the Manhattan jury delivered its verdict, the token FreeTrump ($TRUMP) surged by 1,019% in 24 hours to reach $0.042, while Jeo Boden (BODEN) saw its price stay almost still at $0.294. As previously reported, BODEN was launched following Trump’s misspelling Joe Biden’s name and rose when acknowledged by the former president with the following comment:
I don’t like that investment.
Furthermore, MAGA (TRUMP) token — also held by a Trump-related wallet with 580,000 tokens — rose by 16.25% to $16.25. MAGA VP (MVP), a token suggesting a connection to Trump’s potential vice presidential pick, dropped by 10.7% to around $0.51.
The overall political finance (PolitiFi) memecoin market capitalization increased by 15.4% to approximately $1.8 billion, as reported by CoinGecko.
The battle for the crypto votes
As ReadWrite recently reported, Trump expressed his support for the burgeoning cryptocurrency industry. He went as far as to express the belief that the United States should lead this industry:
I am very positive and open minded to cryptocurrency companies and all things related to this new and burgeoning industry. […] Our country must be the leader in the field, there is no second place.
The former United States President also recently pledged to exonerate Ross Ulbricht the day after his election — the founder of Silk Road, the world’s first deep web black market. This apparently translated into mounting pressure on Democrat presidential candidate and current U.S. president Joe Biden.
Previously Democrats have been largely opposed to cryptocurrencies, but with the upcoming elections inching closer there was a shift. Earlier this week, news spread that President Joe Biden has begun seeking input from the cryptocurrency industry amid the presidential race. This crypto-friendly approach is a significant departure from when Biden proposed imposing a 30% tax on crypto mining power.

A source familiar with the matter told MacRumors that the Apple Vision Pro is now scheduled to launch internationally in July. Separately, MacRumors is aware that some Apple Stores in the UK recently received large deliveries on pallets, believed to be couches designed for Vision Pro demos, that staff are not yet allowed to open. Apple Retail Managers in the UK have been told to begin the process of planning to transition the Avenues to facilitate Vision Pro accessories. Further refreshes of in-store visuals are also planned for July.
The international launch of the Vision Pro is likely to fall in the third or fourth week of July. Given this timing, there is a chance that Apple will confirm the date at its WWDC keynote on June 10.
This time frame is later than anticipated by many analysts, such as Ming-Chi Kuo, who said that Apple was highly likely to launch the Vision Pro internationally before WWDC to drive interest in visionOS 2. Discord has had yet another rebrand as they enter into the ‘next chapter’ and although changes are subtle, people are already poking fun and questioning why it had to happen in the first place.
On Wednesday (May 29) the CEO of Discord Jason Citron shared details about the brand’s change in appearance through a company blog post.
Jason says the brand now has a “refreshed look and visual identity to reflect the future of people playing games together. This new look celebrates the fun friends have together while talking, playing, and hanging out on Discord.”
To the untrained eye, it might not even appear like a change has taken place. The rebrand simply sees the brand adopting a darker shade of purple and blue.
The tagline ‘That’s All Fun & Games’ has been used in the announcement which has brought on a whole lot of laughs from users.
In the YouTube video announcement, one of the top comments says: “It’s all fun and games until someone leaks private NATO documents in the server.”
Another person writes: “That’s All Fun & Games until you realize the Group Chat gets recorded by Discord Staff cough,” and someone else puts: “It’s all fun and games until Discord puts more free features behind a nitro paywall.”
Not everyone loves the Discord update
It’s not all fun and games though, as some people have been left wondering why the instant messaging platform has to be changed once more.
In the comments of the same YouTube video, someone writes: “so they started with Discord being game-focused, then they rebranded to being community-focused, and now they’re going back to being game-focused. It almost seems like there was no point in rebranding in the first place…”
In the ‘next chapter’ blog post, the CEO explains how the team behind the platform will “focus on making it easier and more fun for people to talk and hang out before, during and after playing – and we’ll help developers of those games bring their creativity to life.”

A Bloomberg report suggests Apple is planning to completely overhaul the Siri that we currently know, in favor of more advanced artificial intelligence.
The move could let users control app functions with their voice, according to the publishers’ sources who say they are familiar with the matter.
Siri’s new upgrade could see the virtual assistant taking command of all the features within apps for the first time, with this change requiring a major revamp to the underlying software.
The report says Siri’s software has been updated by using large language models and this will be one of the highlights of Apple’s “renewed push into AI.”
As part of this, more basic AI tasks are expected to be processed on the devices while the more advanced capabilities will be done so through cloud computing.
A representative for the California-based company declined to comment on Bloomberg’s article.
Apple could unveil potential Siri AI in just a few weeks
These details come less than two weeks before Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference which is set to take place on June 10. Ahead of the event, a number of rumors and reports have surfaced, but even the Apple team themselves have highlighted the push towards AI.
Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook promised that the technology company will ‘break new ground’ in AI this year and the SVP of marketing Greg Joswiak even teased the conference by describing what’s to come as being “Absolutely Incredible!”

Another rumor claims the brand’s popular Macbooks will have AI-focused M4 chips which have artificial intelligence capabilities. If the report is true, the company will have nearly completed its production of the M4 computer chips.
Apple has reportedly been in talks with OpenAI over the last few months too, with a possibility of generative AI features being implemented within the iPhone.
Again, neither of these reports has been confirmed as the company has remained tight-lipped about possible upgrades and updates.

OpenAI has revealed operations linked to Russia, China, Iran and Israel have been using its artificial intelligence tools to create and spread disinformation, as technology becomes a powerful weapon in information warfare in an election-heavy year.
The San Francisco-based maker of the ChatGPT chatbot said in a report on Thursday that five covert influence operations had used its AI models to generate text and images at a high volume, with fewer language errors than previously, as well as to generate comments or replies to their own posts. OpenAI’s policies prohibit the use of its models to deceive or mislead others.
The content focused on issues “including Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the conflict in Gaza, the Indian elections, politics in Europe and the United States, and criticisms of the Chinese government by Chinese dissidents and foreign governments,” OpenAI said in the report.

Meme Coin Price Predictions and Analysis
When we look at meme coin price performance this week, the top 6 coins by market cap show that 5 coins have had a “green” week, while only DOGE is slightly in the red with a 1.5% decrease. Memes have been a hot topic this cycle, and today’s good performance is most likely related to the “PEPE Friday” phenomenon.
Dogwifhat (WIF) has actually performed the best in this group, with a 25% pump, closely followed by FLOKI with a 20% pump. PEPE gained 12%, with most of that (10%) occurring today on PEPE Friday.
Jelle, a prominent crypto analyst with a following of 84,000 people on X, provided his analysis on the FLOKI token. For context, the FLOKI price is currently trading around $0.00026, while its all-time high (ATH) is in the $0.0003 area. He believes that FLOKI’s price action has unfolded precisely as anticipated, with the token reclaiming its previous all-time highs and now consolidating just below that level.

Jelle expects some additional consolidation to occur underneath the resistance level before FLOKI eventually breaks out to establish new all-time highs.
An analyst known as “Free” on X, with a following of 21,000 users, shared an insightful perspective regarding the meme coin space. Free acknowledged that identifying the next breakout success akin to WIF or PEPE will become increasingly challenging due to the influx of new meme coins launching daily and the saturation starting to occur within the mid-cap category.

However, Free expressed a sentiment that despite these challenges, there is a strong likelihood of another meme coin project achieving a similar level of success as WIF or PEPE before the end of the current market cycle.
Technically, the indicators are bullish for PEPE, as the MACD line is now above the MACD signal line, and the RSI is around 60, indicating potentially more upside momentum.
As for meme coin price predictions, PEPE, FLOKI, and WIF (currently at $3.5) could continue their upward trajectories in the short term, especially with the meme coin hype surrounding “PEPE Friday”.

Acer has officially entered the 3D camera market as they launch the SpatialLabs Eyes Stereo which captures photos and video. The content is then viewable within the camera, a VR headset, or in a 3D display.
With the camera, users can stream in 3D on YouTube and other platforms too, along with being able to make 3D calls on Google Meet, Zoom, and Teams.
While the Taiwanese electronics brand is predominantly known for its laptop and PC offerings, they’ve been in the 3D market for some time with stereoscopic displays in external laptops and monitors.
“The SpatialLabs Eyes Stereo Camera completes Acer’s stereoscopic 3D portfolio, providing solutions from content capturing and creation, to display and interaction,” said Jerry Kao, COO of Acer Inc, in a company press release.
“We hope to empower users to capture the world around them in stunning stereoscopic 3D through the new camera and we’re excited to see the possibilities and the amazing content they will be able to create and share.”
The price tag is high at $549, but the firm say the product is aimed at photographers. The Acer SpatialLabs Eyes Stereo Camera will be available in the third quarter of the year in North America.
Features of Acer’s new SpatialLabs Eyes Stereo Camera
The camera features 8 megapixels per eye resolution, has a built-in selfie mirror, and a weatherproof exterior.
The team behind the design calls it ‘pocket-sized’ and says it’s a “great companion for capturing moments in daily life.”
There’s a manual mode for those professionals who like to adjust ISO, white balance, and shutter speed settings. It comes with auto and touch focus capabilities too which have been enhanced with Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS).
The 3D video chatting abilities will be done so through the SpatialLabs video call widget and 3D streaming via Acer SpatialLabs Player 3.0.
Along with the camera announcement, Acer has said the SpatialLabs Model Viewer Pro application is set to be launched too.
This is designed to be a 3D content workflow, with features tailored for commercial usability.
