Oppo Find N2 Flip and Find N2: everything you need to know

The Oppo Find N2 and Find N2 Flip foldables have been unveiled, and the Flip has gone global.

Following a launch in China in late 2022, the Oppo Find N2 Flip has now gone global, with a second launch for other markets happening in February 2023.

This phone wasn’t alone in China, it was joined by the standard Oppo Find N2, with the N2 and the N2 Flip being Oppo’s foldable rivals to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 respectively.

However, the standard N2 isn’t available globally, so you’ll only easily be able to buy the Oppo Find N2 Flip, and even then it’s not out in all regions.

Below you’ll find full specs and details of both handsets, including availability and price in the case of the Oppo Find N2 Flip.

Cut to the chase

What is it? The latest foldable Oppo phones

When is it out? The Find N2 Flip launched on February 15 in some regions

How much will it cost? £849 / AU$1,499 (around $1,025)

Oppo Find N2 Flip and Find N2 release date and price

The Oppo Find N2 series was unveiled on December 15, 2022 at the company’s annual Inno Day event, in China. That launch was only for China, but the Oppo Find N2 Flip has since had a global launch, at a second launch which happened on February 15, 2023.

The Find N2 Flip can be pre-ordered now in the UK, and it ships on March 2. Meanwhile, Oppo has announced that the Find N2 Flip will also land in Australia on March 16, with pre-orders expected to go live from March 2. However, we wouldn’t expect it to be available in the US, as few Oppo phones are.

It also doesn’t sound like the Oppo Find N2 will get the same wider roll out as the Flip, so if you were hoping to be able to buy the company’s Z Fold rival you might be out of luck.

As for pricing, the Oppo Find N2 Flip costs £849 (around $1,025) in the UK and will cost AU$1,499 in Australia. That makes it surprisingly affordable by foldable phone standards.

Oppo Find N2 Flip and Find N2 design and display

The Oppo Find N2 Flip looks a lot like the Galaxy Z Flip 4, the Motorola Razr (2022), and other clamshell foldable phones. So it has a normal smartphone-sized foldable screen, which when folded shut shrinks the phone down to a compact size.

However, where rival handsets have tiny cover displays, the Oppo Find N2 Flip’s is a bigger 3.26-inch 382 x 720 AMOLED screen . It’s big enough for example to display six notifications at once. For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 has just a 1.9-inch display.

The foldable screen on the Oppo Find N2 Flip is a 6.8-inch 1080 x 2520 AMOLED one with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, a peak brightness of 1,600 nits, and 403 pixels per inch.

Oppo also claims that, thanks to an improved hinge, the Find N2 Flip has an almost invisible crease in its foldable screen.

In all, the Find N2 Flip is 166.2 x 75.2 x 7.5mm when unfolded, and 85.5 x 75.2 x 16mm when folded shut, and it weighs 191g. The available colors include Astral Black and Moonlight Purple. There’s a gold shade too, but this is China-only.

The standard Oppo Find N2 looks more like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, with a big 7.1-inch 1792 x 1920 foldable AMOLED display that has a 120Hz refresh rate.

Fold it shut and you can make use of a 5.54-inch 1080 x 2120 AMOLED external display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

The Find N2 has a lightweight design, coming in at just 233g, if you get the black vegan leather finish. It’s also available in green and white Gorilla Glass Victus versions, and those are almost as light, at 237g. For reference, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is 263g.

Oppo Find N2 Flip and Find N2 camera and battery

The Oppo Find N2 Flip has a 50MP f/1.8 primary camera and an 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide one, with a 112-degree field of view. It also has a 32MP f/2.4 selfie camera, though of course being a foldable phone you can use the main cameras for selfies anyway, with the cover screen being used to line up the shot.

As for the battery, that’s 4,300mAh – which makes it much bigger than the batteries in other clamshell foldables, and it charges at 44W.

The standard Oppo Find N2 has a triple-lens camera with a 50MP f/1.8 main sensor, a 48MP f/2.2 ultra-wide one, and a 32MP f/2.0 telephoto one with 2x optical zoom. It also has two 32MP f/2.4 selfie cameras – one on each screen.

Its battery is 4,520mAh, and it charges at 67W, which can get it from zero to 100% in about 42 minutes.

Oppo Find N2 Flip and Find N2 specs and features

The Oppo Find N2 Flip has a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 Plus chipset, which is one of the most powerful chipsets of 2022, but less powerful than the new Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 2, which we’re likely to see in a lot of 2023’s phones.

The phone comes in just one configuration currently, which has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. There are other models in China, but these aren’t sold globally.

It also supports 5G, has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and runs Android 13 with the promise of four major operating system updates and five years of security patches.

The Find N2 Flip uses Oppo’s ColorOS 13 interface, as does the standard Oppo Find N2.

Speaking of the Oppo Find N2, that has a similarly powerful Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, and comes in two configurations – one with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and the other with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

It also supports 5G, and has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and dual Dolby Atmos-powered stereo speakers. In all, it sounds like it could be one of the best foldable phones, so it’s a shame only the Flip has gone global.

New movies 2023: the most exciting films releasing in theaters this year

Start booking your tickets for the biggest new movies heading to theaters in 2023.

Theaters have had a tough few years thanks to Covid-19 and the unstoppable rise of the streaming giants, but it’s not done yet. If you’re looking for epic, blockbuster entertainment, the big screen experience is still the place to be – and 2023 is shaping up to have its fair share of exciting new movies.

So, while we’ll readily admit that this year’s release slate isn’t quite as rammed as its predecessor (no Top Gun: Maverick, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, or The Batman), there’s still plenty of good reasons to head to your local multiplex.

Tom Cruise fans, for example, can look forward to his seventh outing as Ethan Hunt in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, Part One, while followers of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) should be putting Guardians of the Galaxy 3 on their wishlist. For followers of DC, there’s the double-whammy of The Flash and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and for fans of epic sci-fi, there’s the second part of Denis Villeneuve’s big-budget adaptation of Dune.

Below we’ve compiled a list of 2023’s most exciting new movies, and we’ll be regularly updating this list with more entries in the coming weeks. Start booking your tickets now!

New movies: March 2023

Shazam! Fury of the Gods

Release date: March 17, 2023

Zachary Levi’s superpowered schmuck, Shazam, is forced to return to action in Shazam! Fury of the Gods when villainous sisters Hespera (Helen Mirren), Kalypso (Lucy Liu), and Athena (Rachel Zegler) – who also happen to be the daughters of formidable Greek titan Atlas – emerge as threats bearing a potentially world-destroying weapon.

Jack Dylan Grazer, Asher Angel, and Grace Caroline Currey all reprise their roles from the first Shazam! movie alongside Levi, while West Side Story breakout Rachel Zegler joins the cast as the third (but altogether less violent) daughter of Atlas, Anthea. To the surprise of many, Shazam! was a critical and commercial hit upon release in 2019, so DC executives will be hoping its sequel can repeat the trick. Be sure to look out for our spoiler-free review soon.

If you missed the first one, find out how to watch DC extended universe movies in order before you give it a go.

John Wick: Chapter 4

Release date: March 24, 2023

Everyone’s favorite puppy-loving hitman is back for more gun-toting action in 2023. As per Lionsgate’s official synopsis, John Wick: Chapter 4 will find the titular assassin “taking on his most lethal adversaries yet. With the price on his head ever increasing, Wick takes his fight against the High Table global as he seeks out the most powerful players in the underworld, from New York to Paris to Osaka to Berlin.”

In other words, the Chad Stahelski-directed gun-fu movie will dance to the same tune as its predecessors – which is by no means a bad thing, in our book. Series mainstays Ian McShane, Laurence Fishburne, and Lance Reddick will reprise their roles as Winston, The Bowery King and Charon, respectively. Newcomers include martial arts legends Donnie Yen (Ip Man, Rogue One) and Hiroyuki Sanada (Mortal Kombat).

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves

Release date: March 31, 2023

Although Dungeons & Dragons’ first big-screen outing spawned a pair of straight-to-TV/DVD sequels in the early ’00s, it was a critical and box-office disappointment. Now, riding high on a wave of Stranger Things-fueled popularity, the genre-defining role-playing game (RPG) returns for second roll of the movie dice – and there are plenty of reasons to be optimistic.

For starters, this reboot seems eager to keep tabletop D&D fans happy, with a story based in the game’s Forgotten Realms campaign setting. It features a mismatched party of thieves on a quest to save the world, and along the way they’ll encounter familiar obstacles like gelatinous cubes, evil wizards and, yes, dungeons and dragons.

The movie’s biggest trump card, however, may be a cast of heroes led by Star Trek’s Chris Pine, Fast & Furious’ Michelle Rodriguez, and Bridgerton’s Regé-Jean Page. If they’re as entertaining as they are in the trailers, Honor Among Thieves could be a fun antidote to the more po-faced fantasy of The Rings of Power and House of the Dragon.

New movies: April 2023

The Super Mario Bros. Movie

Release date: April 5, 2023

Now that The Last of Us has proved it’s possible to make a credible adaptation of a videogame, all eyes will be on a certain moustachioed plumber from Brooklyn. Nobody’s expecting The Super Mario Bros. Movie to deliver the sort of hard-hitting drama we associate with Joel and Ellie’s post-apocalyptic adventures, but this animated movie should at least make amends for the Bob Hoskins-starring Mario disaster from 1993.

The trailers hint at a safety-first approach, with plenty of familiar elements from the long-running Nintendo franchise – karting, Donkey Kong, mushrooms – joining Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Toad, and Bowser on the big screen. With numerous Despicable Me/Minions movies behind them, production company Illumination have plenty of experience creating family-friendly entertainment. And, while Chris Pratt was a controversial choice to voice the handyman hero, some of his Lego Movie charm could lend the film some much-needed bounce.

Evil Dead Rise

Release date: April 21, 2023

The first Evil Dead film in a decade moves away from the familiar cabin in the woods setting, but that demonic book is still stirring up nightmares for anyone foolish enough to dip in. This time out the story relocates to a Los Angeles apartment, where a family is torn apart (figuratively and presumably literally) by those familiar trash-talking Deadites – and, while Bruce Campbell’s Ash is nowhere to be seen, there will be chainsaws.

The Hole in the Dark director Lee Cronin marshals the blood and guts – original helmer Sam Raimi is on board as an executive producer – and he believes that moving the action to the city made perfect sense. “[The film] still needed to maintain some of the claustrophobia,” he told Total Film magazine (via GamesRadar). “And that translated really well from the cabin into an urban environment. This is about a family in a rundown building stuck in their apartment, so it follows the same rhythm but puts it in a more contemporary space.”

New movies: May 2023

Guardians of the Galaxy 3

Release date: May 5, 2023

The second Marvel Phase 5 project scheduled for release in 2023 (after Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania) is the third and final instalment in James Gunn’s beloved Guardians of the Galaxy series.

Guardians of the Galaxy 3 will pick up directly after the events of the titular group’s Holiday Special, which was released on Disney Plus as part of Phase 4 in November 2022, and will see the franchise’s biggest stars – including Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, and Bradley Cooper – returning for what’s expected to be their final MCU outing. Gunn is on dual writing and directing duties for the last time as a Marvel employee, too, with the The Suicide Squad director having been recently installed as co-head of DC Studios. In other words, prepare for this one to be an emotional roller coaster.

Need to catch up on the MCU? Check out our guide to watching the Marvel movies in order.

New movies: June 2023

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

Release date: June 2, 2023

The first instalment in a two-part sequel to 2018’s Into the Spider-VerseSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will follow Miles and Gwen as they encounter different worlds (and characters) on their travels across the multiverse. The movie’s producers have already revealed that each dimension in the second Miles Morales-led Spidey movie will have its own art style and “feel like it was drawn by a different artist’s hand,” so there’s a good chance that this one will look even better than the excellent original.

What’s more, the same duo have also revealed Across the Spider-Verse may be tied to the MCU after all, meaning we could see Tom Holland’s Spidey in animated form for the first time. As with the Aquaman sequel (below), this one was initially slated to release in 2022, but is now scheduled for 2023.

Elemental

Release date: June 16, 2023

2022 was something of a mixed bag for Pixar. On the plus side they released the wonderful Turning Red, a sweet and clever coming-of-age story that bagged itself an Oscar nomination. On the downside, Lightyear’s ‘movie about the man who inspired the toy from the movie’ premise proved a little too meta for audiences and critics alike (editor’s note: I liked it, though!).

Fortunately, Elemental feels like it could be more solid ground for the Emeryville-based animation studio, because this is a return to the weird, high-concept territory that Pixar has made its own with the likes of Inside Out and Soul.

It’s set in a city where characters representing the four classical elements (fire, water, land and air) live together. At the film’s heart is an unlikely friendship between a fiery woman called Ember (The Half of It’s Leah Lewis) and a watery guy called Wade (Jurassic World: Dominion’s Mamoudou Athie) – we can only assume that things get steamy when they’re together. Peter Sohn (who also voiced Sox the cat in Lightyear) calls the shots.

The Flash

Release date: June 16, 2023

The movie incarnation of the Flash already met another version of himself as part of a crossover event in the CW’s long-running Arrowverse. Now, the big-screen Flash is following the MCU’s lead, as well as that of Rick and Morty and Everything Everywhere All At Once, by diving headlong into the multiverse.

Inspired by Geoff Johns and Andy Kubert’s 2011 comic-book arc Flashpoint, The Flash will see Barry Allen (Ezra Miller, reprising their role from the Justice League movie) using his super-speed to meddle with history in the hope of saving his dead mom. In the best traditions of movie time travel, however, he inadvertently creates a world with no metahumans, and where Michael Shannon’s returning General Zod is free rampant. At least Barry can call on Michael Keaton’s vintage Batman and Sasha Calle’s new Supergirl (among other DC heroes) to help out.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny

Release date: June 30, 2023

Cue the theme music: the world’s favorite collector of rare antiquities is back. Arriving 12 years after Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull – which itself was the first Indiana Jones movie for 19 years – The Dial of Destiny will see Harrison Ford putting on the famous fedora one last time.

Plot details are thin on the ground, but the film’s glorious first trailer did tease the involvement of Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag), Mads Mikkelsen (Doctor Strange), Antonio Banderas (The Mask of Zorro), Toby Jones (Captain America: The First Avenger), and Boyd Holbrook (The Sandman), as well as a miraculously de-aged Harrison Ford. We can’t wait.

New movies: July 2023

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning: Part One

Release date: July 14, 2023

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning: Part One (or Mission: Impossible 7, if you’re in a rush) has endured so many scheduling delays that it previously featured on our list of 2022’s biggest upcoming movies, but the film finally looks set to arrive in July this year.

Top Gun: Maverick hero Tom Cruise will have hit 60 by the time this entry hits cinemas, and it’ll also mark the penultimate outing for Ethan Hunt, the actor’s famous action hero. Having delivered the long-running franchise’s best instalments with Rogue Nation and Fallout, Christopher McQuarrie is also back behind the camera for number 7 and its follow-up. Plot details are currently wrapped up tighter than a government vault, though the bombastic first Mission Impossible 7 trailer did give us our first glimpse at Hunt and company’s return to action.

To best prepare yourself for the chaos to come, check out our ranking of the Mission: Impossible movies released so far.

Barbie

Release date: July 21, 2023

Having appeared in a couple of Toy Story movies, Mattel’s iconic doll is no stranger to the big screen. Even so, Barbie’s first outing as the headline attraction is a genuinely intriguing prospect.

The plot is surrounded by Christopher Nolan-like levels of secrecy, but rumors suggest it’ll involve the eponymous doll (played by Margot Robbie) and long-standing boyfriend Ken (Ryan Gosling) relocating to the real world. With Lady Bird and Little Women director Greta Gerwig behind the camera (she also co-wrote the script with Marriage Story’s Noah Baumbach), Barbie promises to be much smarter than your average toy-to-screen transfer. Indeed, the 2001: A Space Odyssey-inspired trailer suggests the film will be less a celebration than a satire on a doll whose original incarnation now feels incredibly outdated.

Haunted Mansion

Release date: July 28, 2023

Disney continues its quest to turn theme park attractions into movies (see also Pirates of the Caribbean and Jungle Cruise) with its second crack at a Haunted Mansion adaptation.

Ahsoka star Rosario Dawson plays a single mom who moves into a creepy haunted mansion – the clue’s in the title – with her nine-year-old son (Chase W. Dillon). Exorcism advice will be available courtesy of an all-star cast featuring LaKeith Stanfield, Owen Wilson, Tiffany Haddish, Danny DeVito, and Jamie Lee Curtis.

This being the House of Mouse the scares are likely to be of the jumpy variety rather than the kind that gives you nightmares. But, with The Heat, Ghostbusters and Parks and Recreation writer Katie Dippold on scripting duties, there’ll hopefully be plenty of laughs, too.

New movies: August 2023

TMNT: Mutant Mayhem

Release date: August 4, 2023

The world’s most fearsome fighting team has had as many big-screen reboots as Spider-Man, so it’s no surprise that this fourth incarnation has seemingly taken inspiration from the brilliant Into the Spider-Verse. Shepherded to the screen by Seth Rogen and regular producing partner Evan Goldberg, TMNT: Mutant Mayhem brings a unique, almost painterly style to its animation, and if the story’s as innovative as the visuals, which look totally cowabunga in its first trailer, we’re in for a treat.

Newcomers Nicolas Cantu, Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr, and Brady Noon voice a younger-then-usual Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo. Support comes from Jackie Chan on board as rat-shaped mentor Splinter and Ayo Edebiri as April O’Neil, the news reporter who befriends the heroes in a half-shell. Rogen also bags himself a role, teaming up with WWE wrestler-turned-Peacekeeper star John Cena to play mutant henchmen Rock Steady and Bebop.

New movies: November 2023

Dune: Part Two

Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides in the first Dune movie. (Image credit: Warner Bros.)

Release date: November 3, 2023

The most disappointing thing about Denis Villeneuve’s Dune movie was its non-descript ending. But, as anyone who’s sat through David Lynch’s flawed 1984 movie will tell you, slicing Frank Herbert’s classic sci-fi novel in two was way preferable to squeezing it into a single film. And, while Warner Bros. weren’t prepared to gamble on shooting the two movies back-to-back, they got the cameras rolling pretty quickly when the first hit big at the post-Covid box office.

This follow-up will see an already impressive ensemble cast bolstered by Elvis’s Austin Butler, Black Widow’s Florence Pugh, No Time to Die’s Léa Seydoux and the needs-no-introduction Christopher Walken. Expect epic action, trippy sci-fi, and some very big worms when Timothée Chalamet’s Paul Atreides resumes his mission to save the desert world of Arrakis.

New movies: December 2023

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom

Aquaman 2 lands in theaters before the end of the year. (Image credit: Warner Bros.)

Release date: December 25, 2023

Despite Aquaman 2 having been originally scheduled to hit theaters on December 16, 2022, it’s now due to wash up in December 2023. Going by the less internet-friendly title of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, this superhero sequel will continue the underwater adventures of Jason Momoa’s DC superhero.

This long-awaited sequel reunites the Game of Thrones actor with original co-stars Amber Heard, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Nicole Kidman, and Patrick Wilson – although the level of Heard’s involvement reportedly remains up in the air – and will see the titular character forced to “forge an uneasy alliance with an unlikely ally to protect Atlantis, and the world, from irreversible devastation.” Expect even more comic book carnage, then.

Asus Zenfone 10: what we want to see

The Asus Zenfone 10 could be one of the best small phones, provide it does justice to the current Zenfone 9.

The Asus Zenfone 10 could be one of the best phones of 2023, but the company will need to learn from the failings of the Asus Zenfone 9, which was in many ways one of the most disappointing phones of 2022.

It achieved 3.5 stars in our review, which isn’t bad at all, but it’s a massive drop from the 4.5 stars that the Asus Zenfone 8 achieved the previous year. These phones have a lot of potential though, so we’re cautiously optimistic about the next model.

There will likely be a while to wait for it though, and we’ve got some specs to whet your appetite. Here you’ll find our news and specs reports, paired with release date and price predictions, and finished up with a wish list of things we want to see.

Cut to the chase

What is it? The next model in the Zenfone line

When it is out? Probably around July 2023

How much will it cost? It’s likely to have an upper mid-range price

Asus Zenfone 10: release date and price

There’s no news on when the Asus Zenfone 10 might release but it probably won’t for quite a while, as the Zenfone 9 only landed in July 2022. However, the company isn’t totally consistent with its launches, as the Zenfone 8 launched in May of its release year, and the Zenfone 7 in August of its.

So we can’t say with any confidence when the Asus Zenfone 10 will be announced, but we’d guess around the middle of 2023.

We can’t say how much it will cost either, but for reference the Zenfone 9 starts at $699 / £699 (roughly AU$1,210), so the price of the Zenfone 10 might be similar.

The Zenfone 10 might have a similar price to the Zenfone 9 (Image credit: Future)

Asus Zenfone 10: news and leaks

The first few leaks of the Asus Zenfone 10 have emerged and they paint a picture of a smartphone that’s a powerful update over its predecessors — albeit with one disquieting change for those who were fans of the former compact frames. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is present, as expected, as are massive RAM and storage boosts of 16GB and up to 512GB respectively. There’s rumored to be a big 5,000 mAh battery with a 67W fast charger to help keep it boosted every day.

The display is rumored to get bigger as the report claims Asus is to abandon the 5.9-inch display size it favored in exchange for a larger and more mainstream 6.3-inch size. It was considered the best feature of its predecessors, but it seems the company is making a business decision. Small phones haven’t taken off yet, and Asus probably doesn’t see it as worth a third attempt for its part.

What we want to see

The Asus Zenfone 9 left lots of room for the improvement, so the following things are what we most want to see from the Zenfone 10.

1. More cameras

The Zenfone 9 could do with more cameras (Image credit: Future)

The Asus Zenfone 9 only has two rear cameras, which isn’t very many by Android phone standards. So for the Zenfone 10 we’d like to see at least a third added – specifically a telephoto one.

It would also be good if Asus could improve the shutter speed, as in our Zenfone 9 review we found the phone would often take a while to actually snap a photo, which could lead to blurry shots.

2. A lower price

The Asus Zenfone 9 has an upper mid-range price, but it’s verging on high-end, only sitting a little below the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S22 and iPhone 14. It’s also more expensive than the Google Pixel 7, and the specs and features on offer just can’t quite justify that.

So for the Asus Zenfone 10 we’d like to see either the price lowered, or a significant improvement in the phone itself.

3. A small screen

The Zenfone 9 has a small screen – hopefully the Zenfone 10 will too (Image credit: Future)

The Zenfone 9 has a compact 5.9-inch display, and we want the Asus Zenfone 10 to have a similarly small screen. So we’re not asking for changes here – we very much want that aspect to stay the same — though we’re losing hope after seeing the latest rumors.

There aren’t many compact phones these days, and especially not ones with fairly high-end specs like the Zenfone 9, so we’d love to see that continued with the Zenfone 10, as there’s surely an audience for them, however niche.

4. A glass back

Despite having a fairly premium price, the Zenfone 9 has a plastic back, which is something we’d more expect from a budget phone, despite Samsung’s attempts to make it acceptable at the high-end.

So hopefully the Asus Zenfone 10 will have a glass back. We can’t imagine it would add a vast amount to the cost, and it would make the phone both look and feel significantly more worthy of its likely upper mid-range price.

5. A bigger battery

The Zenfone 9 has a fairly small 4,300mAh battery, and while that might seem reasonable given that it also has a fairly small screen, it’s worth noting that the Sony Xperia 5 IV is only marginally bigger, yet manages to fit a 5,000mAh battery in.

Regardless, the Zenfone 9 doesn’t have great battery life, so it’s clearly in need of a bigger juice pack, or some optimizations, and we’d like to see life improved for the Asus Zenfone 10. If it is, then that could end up being one of the best small phones.

1: GoPro Hero 11 Black deals

The latest GoPro action camera – and the most expensive

5.3K video: up to 60fps | 4K video: up to 120fps | Stills: 27MP | Waterproof: 10m | Battery life: 1-2 hours estimate | Wireless: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS | Launch price: $499.99 / £499.99 / AU$799

HyperSmooth 5.0 with 360° horizon lock
 Support for 10-bit video
Improved battery life
User friendly
Expensive

GoPro’s latest and greatest, the Hero 11 Black, was released in September of this year as the company’s latest flagship camera. The Hero 11 Black includes new updates over the Hero 11, like the 1/1.9in sensor, which helps boost versatility, including exporting videos in various formats, a feature that will please social media gurus. The Hero 11 Black also includes an improved Enduro rechargeable battery, support for 10-bit video, and HyperSmooth 5.0 for the smoothest and steadiest recording experience.

The GoPro Hero 11 Black has a starting retail price of $499.99/ £499.99/ AU$799.95 and is now GoPro’s most expensive camera. Thanks to recent holiday sales, we’ve already seen discounts on the camera, so you shouldn’t expect to pay full price.

2: GoPro Hero 10 Black deals

Still GoPro’s best camera at a discounted price

5.3K video: up to 60fps | 4K video: up to 120fps | 1080p video: up to 240fps | Stills: 23MP | Waterproof: 10m | Battery life: 1-2 hours estimate | Wireless: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS | Launch price: $499.99 / £479.99 / AU$749

5.3K at 60fps
Snappier menus and interface
Powerful GP2 processor
Class-leading stabilization

The GoPro Hero 10 Black launched back in 2021, but it still leads the market with its 5.3K 60fps recording quality and high-powered processor under the hood. Of course, all that grunt comes with a high asking price, and the MSRP here represents a considerable jump over the previous generation Hero 9.

You’re looking at a maximum cost of $499.99 / £479.99 / AU$749 for this professional level action camera, though we have seen GoPro deals dropping that price to as little as $399 / £379 in the past year. In fact, over the last few months we’ve been seeing that sub-$400 price position relatively regularly, so you’re browsing at an excellent time.

3: GoPro Hero 9 Black deals

The previous generation is seeing some strong discounts

5K video: up to 30fps | 4K video: up to 60fps | 1080p video: up to 240fps | Stills: 20MP | Waterproof: 10m | Battery life: 1-3 hours estimate | Wireless: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS | Launch price: $449.99 / £429.99 / AU$699.95

Extra detail in 5K
Additional front display
Improved battery
New software tricks

The GoPro Hero 9 Black still comes with a range of new software features, an extended battery life, brand new 5K shooting capabilities, and a front facing display. That’s a good list of upgrades that adds more to the value than the Hero 8 Black offered, but you’ll find little improvement in 4K shooting here.

That 5K option, however, makes up for the stasis of shooting 4K at 60fps. You’ll get better clarity and more vivid details with the new shooting mode, and pair that with HyperSmooth Boost (GoPro’s latest and most powerful stabilization tech) and it’s possible to achieve some amazing footage with the GoPro Hero 9 Black.

With all that new tech does come a shift in the GoPro price, with the new model launching for £100 / $200 more than the previous version now sits at. However, if you’re shopping in the UK you can save that £100 by picking up GoPro’s own launch bundle which offers up a year of the GoPro subscription (unlimited cloud storage, savings on accessories, and warranty replacement) with the new camera for far less than the action cam by itself.

4: GoPro Hero 8 deals

A more affordable GoPro if you can find stock

FOV: SuperView, Wide, Linear, Narrow | 4K video: up to 60fps | 1080p video: up to 240fps | 720p video: up to 240fps | Stills: 12MP | Burst: up to 30fps | Battery: 1220mAh | Launch price: $399 / £379 / AU$599

Excellent image stabilization
Folding built-in mount
Better mic
Now superseded

This older GoPro was more about internal improvements over radical redesigns. But make no mistake, the GoPro Hero 8 Black is still one of the best action cameras GoPro has ever made.

Image Stabilization 2.0 combats the most chaotic of scenes you can throw at it and there’s a better microphone on the device now too. The water resistance is a solid 10m and the shock resistance rating of the Gorilla Glass lens cover has been doubled – especially handy if you’re likely to make a mess of a landing or take a bit of a beating from the great outdoors.

So, it’s still a fantastic action camera for 2022, and now with two generations ahead of it there’s plenty of room for discounts. You can currently pick it up for around $100 / £100 cheaper than the Hero 9 Black. A very tempting pick if you’re not too bothered about the latest features.

5: GoPro Max prices

The best GoPro with a 360 degree camera

FOV: Max SuperView, SuperView, Wide, Linear, Narrow | 5.6k video: up to 30fps | 4K video: up to 60fps | 1080p video: up to 240fps | 720p video: up to 240fps | Stills: 16.6MP | Battery: 1600mAh | Launch Price: $499 / £479 / AU$799

Film in full 360 modes
Now with a proper display
Cheap launch price
Hero 8 Black has better camera

If you want to film your latest adventures in full 360-degree vision then the new GoPro Max is the action camera you’ve been looking for. Its launch price is much cheaper than the older GoPro Fusion was on day one too.

We’re glad to see a proper display screen on the GoPro Max as that was a feature we sorely missed on the older Fusion 360 degree camera. If filming in 360 isn’t that high on your priorities, then the GoPro Hero 8 Black is the better camera for you, although the mic quality on the Max is better.

The GoPro Max only requires one memory card now and stitches the footage together in-camera, making editing much simpler and the Max HyperSmooth technology does a much better job at leveling the horizon out – as long as you keep up your end of the deal by not flying over the handlebars and into a tree that is.

6: GoPro Hero 7 Black prices

A great camera, with falling prices

FOV: Super view, Wide, Medium, Linear | 4K video: up to 60fps | 1080p video: up to 240fps | Stills: 12MP | Burst: up to 30fps | Wireless: Wi-Fi, bluetooth, GPS | Auto low light: Yes | Launch Price: $399 / £379 / AU$599

HyperSmooth is a great addition
Live streaming features
Takes better still images too
Excellent value now

For even cheaper still (sometimes), you can sometimes pick up the Hero 7 Black – an older device, but one that still shoots 4K 60fps video, and was the first to feature GoPro’s ‘HyperSmooth’ image stabilization.

The resolution and frame-rates may be similar to the older 6 series (we were bound to hit a wall sooner or later), but GoPro HyperSmooth dramatically increases image stabilization with the Hero 7 Black. This motion smoothing technology can be used in numerous shooting modes to record the smoothest possible video running at 60fps. The voice-activated commands are more responsive than older models too. SuperPhoto tech performs automatic improvements on lighting colour and noise-reduction across multiple frames. ProTune options allow you to take the safety wheels off and tweak setting to your own particular style too.

Right now, depending on stock levels, the Hero 7 Black can sometimes be picked up for around $50 / £50 cheaper than the Hero 8, and about $130 / £130 cheaper than the Hero 9.

7: GoPro Hero 7 Silver prices

Cheaper but lacking some of the latest features

FOV: Wide | 4K video: up to 30fps | 1080p video: up to 60fps | Stills: 10MP | Burst: up to 15fps | Wireless: Wi-Fi, bluetooth, GPS | Auto low light: No | Launch price: $279 / £229 / AU$399

Cheaper than the Hero7 Black
4K shooting impresses
Decent stills capabilities
Only 30fps at 4K

Even cheaper still is the GoPro Hero7 Silver – a fantastic budget action camera that still manages to shoot in 4K, albeit at a reduced 30fps.

That’s the main difference here between the Silver and Hero7 Black, which will of course shoot in 4K and 60fps. So, you’re still getting 4K here and this is generally the most widely available cheap 4K GoPro in 2020 but the picture isn’t quite as smooth as on the later or more premium models. The 1080p fps capabilities are slightly lower too and you also don’t get the new HyperSmooth, SuperSmooth or Live Streaming features either.

For the $150 / £150 odd price though, this is still an extremely capable, durable, and waterproof action camera. There are cheaper models available on this page though if some of the features seem like overkill or it’s still a bit pricey.

8: GoPro Hero 7 White prices

No 4K, but very cheap for a GoPro with a touchscreen

FOV: Wide | 4K video: No | 1080p video: up to 60fps | Stills: 10MP | Burst: up to 15fps | Wireless: Wi-Fi, bluetooth | Auto low light: No | Launch price: $199 / £149 / AU$279

Very, very cheap
Records 1080p at 60fps
Great build quality
No 4K video

The GoPro Hero7 White is perhaps the cheapest widely available GoPro device that’s still around in 2020, going for as cheap as $149 / £149 at the retailers which still have stock. That’s seriously cheap for a new GoPro camera, though as you can imagine this is definitely more of a stripped-down basic affair than the newer, more premium entries.

This more entry-level GoPro has the main omission of 4K video shooting. You do get a touchscreen though, and plenty of fps for 1080p standard HD resolution. If you’d be happier with 4K shooting instead of a touchscreen though you might be able to get a similar price via one of our highlighted GoPro Hero5 Session deals further down this page.

9: GoPro Hero 6 Black prices

Still worth a look if the price is right

FOV: Super view, Wide, Medium, Narrow | 4K video: up to 60fps | 1080p video: up to 240fps | Stills: 12MP | Burst: up to 30fps | Wireless: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth | Auto low light: Yes | Launch price: $399 / £379 / AU$599

Captures 4K video at 60fps
Improved image stabilization
Water-resistant without housing
Still fairly pricey

If you can find it in stock, and for a decent price (we recommend around $200 / £200), the Hero 6 Black is a flagship of yesteryear that still manages to pack in a ton of quality.

This is still an excellent GoPro camera with 4K recording at a super smooth 60 fps (frame per second). Image stabilization is super important given the active lifestyles most GoPros record, so it’s great to see this model improve even further on older ones. Even the 1080p recording has been improved with a boost to 240fps – excellent for maximizing those slow-motion shots. We expect the price to drop on this one over time with the new Hero7 Black now on the scene. If the prices are still close though, you may as well opt for the new one.

10: GoPro Hero 5 Black prices

Decent 4K shooting (albeit at 30fps)

FOV: Super view, Wide, Medium, Narrow | 4K video: up to 30fps | 1080p video: up to 120fps | WVGA video: up to 240fps | Stills: 12MP | Burst: up to 30fps | Auto low light: Yes | Launch price: $399 / £379 / AU$599

Captures 4K video
Touchscreen for easy controls
Water-resistant without housing
Only 30fps at 4K

The Hero5 Black wass the GoPro we wanted for years. It was the first GoPro to have a waterproof design out-of-the-box, making it more resilient and the camera has enough to make it a convincing update on the older models. The picture quality is better, it has video stabilization and the touchscreen makes it easier to use than any other GoPro before it. Sale items aside, it’s often cheaper than the older GoPro Hero 4 Black now too.

An oldie, but a goodie, the Hero 5 Black is unfortunately showing its age now but is still a worthwhile pickup if you can score a deal. We definitely wouldn’t recommend spending more than $150 / £150 though since there are better, newer options now which are sometimes actually cheaper, depending on stock.

11: GoPro Hero deals (2018 model)

Great value for a GoPro with a touchscreen

FOV: Wide, Medium, Narrow | 1080p video: up to 60fps | Stills: 10MP | Burst: up to 10fps | Wireless: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth | Auto low light: Yes | Launch price: $199 / £149 / AU$279

Cheap for a GoPro
Has a touchscreen
Great HD footage
Lower availability in 2020

Update: We’d imagine this model is going to be phased out soon despite still being quite new. This is because it’s pretty much identical to the ever newer GoPro Hero7 White in terms of capabilities. Actually, it’s looking like the Hero7 White is currently cheaper! Always worth keeping an eye on this one though as clearance sales should mean potential discounts.

The simply-named GoPro Hero is cheaper than most other Hero models. You’re not getting 4K capture options, but you are getting a display and a touchscreen, features many of you might miss from the other budget GoPro option, the GoPro Hero Session. There was an older GoPro Hero released years ago and if you want to avoid getting that one by mistake, avoid models with a big, round, red light on the front as they can pop up in search results. They’re not much cheaper, sometimes even more expensive and aren’t as good as this 2018 version.

12: GoPro Hero 5 Session deals

The small, but still 4K-capable GoPro

FOV: Super view, Wide, Medium, Narrow | 4K video: up to 30fps | 1080p video: up to 90fps | Stills: 10MP | Burst: up to 30fps | Wireless: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth | Auto low light: Yes | Launch Price: $299 / £249 / AU$429

Small, unobtrusive design
Captures stabilized 4K video
Several new field of view modes
Only 30fps at 4K

The GoPro Hero5 Session is a capable 4K action camera with a minimalist design that pushes the specs to the max within its cube-shaped confines. The Hero5 Session is also a major specs boost for GoPro’s tiniest action camera. It now shoots stabilized 4K video and has a variety of new field of view modes. It’s more expensive than its predecessor, but it’s well worth the upgrade.

13: GoPro Karma Drone prices

Looking to take to the skies with your GoPro camera? There are certainly cheaper camera drones available, but this is one of the best premium setups out there. You can buy the drone on its own (often listed as ‘GoPro Karma Light’ or ‘GoPro Karma with harness’), or get it bundled with the excellent GoPro Hero5 Black camera (some retailers may start to replace these bundles with the more modern Hero6 or Hero7 models instead).

We’ve also included price comparison charts for both below, but you may be able to save a bit of cash by buying the drone and camera separately (check out the various GoPro Hero Black deals near the top of this page). You’ll find the best GoPro Karma prices below though.
